Thanks for uploading! For me as an Organist, Ton is the best Bach-Player of the World! Why? 1. Mr. Koopman is a Master of Harpsichord as it was Bach himself as we know. And you can hear that in the Playing and in the Interpretations on the Organ. 2. Today, nobody is interested or really involved in the art to playing the Harpsichord but in the Piano! 3. Koopman`s Interpretations are allways clear, very free and with a lot of improvisations, trillers and "ajoutés" - allways with the knowloedge of the french, no, of the european influence of music in the time of j.s.b.! I love him. Mr. Bach and Mr. Koopman! I would be proud to have been a student of Ton. His Name is program....
I like it very much. I have heard that these musical instruments are regarded as the ancestors of modern synthesizers The way he plays is also very soulful. I just bought a compact disc here in Greece so that i can enjoy the way Ton Koopman plays everyday. He is a very talented artist.
Greg Symsym The baroque era organs were predominately low pressure which gives a more mellow and interesting sound. However, Cavaillé's instruments operated on a much higher pressure which in my opinion does not give the best sound for Baroque Era compositions. Organ building is characterized by a diversity of artistic interpretations and "That's why they make chocolate and vanilla".
@@Froge4291 I had this seen definitely bevore this Version of him and laughed for the whole Video. Can't imagine what the people where thinking who had listened to him. And yes my ears got murderd. I know a much better and more ear pleasing Version of the Toccata and Fuge, but this from koopman is more than embarrassing.
@@EwicoCylinder he still has decent interpretation (like this one im commenting on) And he made one with the quote "correct" tempo : ruclips.net/video/cl9b8UgXYQw/видео.html
Esecuzione letteralmente indecente!!
+phulnelson Maybe theroretically correct (at least according to SOME theory), but not nice and magnificent as people are used to when hearing this piece. I think music should be rather about feeling than about dry theory
To me, the usual A-G-AAAAA -(slow) G-F-E-D- Csharp - D sounds so much nicer and more magnificent and atmospheric than those kind of small funny trills on A-G and to fast run down. It ruins the mood and feeling completely.

The splendid performance l love Koopman. The touch and the stile are unmachted
Excellent performance. Probably my favourite of his various interpretations. So daring. So energetic. So fast!
So like it! :P
Maybe he had drunk too much coffee:)
@@MrZajebali No, just ambrosia :P

Just perfect!!!
The best performance I've ever met
Such a high pitch 😮
Amazing Need more view
Another great Muller organ. Muller's organs were some of the best in the world.
kansasthunderman1 I agree. Even if I prefer Cavaillé-Coll's ones. That is because I've played on a Cavaillé and not on a Muller.

Perhaps you have heard of T.C Lewis? He was a very famous British organ maker, but in the romantic style. He was renowned for his organs
My favorite part of the song is at 0:50, it just sounds Terrifyingly Shakespearean sounding, if that makes any since.
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤🙏🙏🙏
prachtige Müllerorgel jammer dat Ton Koopman het te snel speelt
that was played really fast
Press "FF" for Fast Forward. I guess some one did...
Oh boy ton koopman had a way faster and worse interpretation than this
This is fast but the other one (read this in a high pitched voice) *is sAcRiLeGiOuS*

Interesting, but way too fast for my liking
Der legendäre Frits van Hulle!
"Was spielst du denn da?"... "Die dmoll-Toccata...".. "Achja, stimmt, hab ich gar nicht erkannt..."
How do ppl enjoy this performance ? The organist is literally racing .
This piece should take 9 mins
Ерунда. Исполнение - типичная сельская клубная самодеятельность.

The way he plays the beginning is TERRIBLE
koopman plays it stylistically correct. sorry you're not able to comprehend that.

Some people like the deep bach style of say glenn gould or pollini. I guess you're one of them.
typical american organist who doesnt like anyone's performance but his own.
