I'm CEO of a little 6000ac ranch I started with just 150 ac owned and 300 ac rented. That was what my Da gave me when he decided to quit farming. He had a dairy farm. I run beef, lamb, kid, pork and chicken. Total value of land owned at average of about $6000/ac $18M by the tax man. The rest is rent long tram (30yr with renewal option) Ya my Da gave me a good start but u try to take a farm from chem to organic without getting a bank into it when ur Da was into the bank up to his neck. But all thought wrong. Da had one hell of a herd of milk cows. When I sold them I got enough to pay off the bank and from there it has all been a cash business and still is. All we use the Credit Union for is to collect plastic money form CSA members which is only 1/2 our business. The other half comes form ppl just coming to get meat. And that is all cash
