Please do a full cover. Your voice sounds primal and ancient, it blends well with the lyrics. It feels like I'm listening to a priestess or a Celtic warrior
Please do a full cover of this song. I first heard it at a women's march and rally I attended with my mother. I was fourteen. All of us who were there sang the chorus together, in voices so loud I could swear the stars themselves heard us. I never expected to hear that song again. Six years later I joined the SCA and went to my first Pennsic War... ...and broke down in tears of joy when I heard it being sung from memory in the marketplace by an apprentice bard. When I came home, I sang it to my mother. And this is how legends are made.
I really connected with this song. Relatives sometimes called us savages as children because we loved to be outside so much. Also referring to our Native American heritage.
It's based on Viking Age culture aka Nordic Culture of that era....but it's not meant to reflect a specific blood, people or skin. Yeah sure. Sounds a whole lot more like pandering after the fact for cred and clout. There's NOTHING wrong with a song or piece of media being based on a specific culture without having to say 'it's for everyone it's not really specific'. If you can't identify with something simply because of the origin of it's inspiration and need it to be made generic (and thus erase it's origin) to do so the problem is YOU not the media. That said... great singer for a cover... I think I might like her better than the original!
Strong as a war chant, soft as a lullaby.... that's such a treat!
What a beautifully apt description!

singing a song about it doesn't make it true.
Maybe not... but maybe with enough voices, over time... it just might. 😉
AWESOME!! ❤❤❤
