Power doesn't affect the battery size. I had an Onyx RCR that could reach 90mph and go 100 miles. They can increase the battery size by changing battery type architecture and casing size. The current range is ridiculous. Other bikes offer longer range. BMW should be a leader globally. I currently have a BMW i3 Rex and it was subject to the same conservatism in term of range. Now with iX and i4, they are playing catch up with other manufacturers.@@electrifyjapan5554 For me, I will wait until it can go 120 miles at least.
I have a problem on mine since I bought it in july 2022. It displays a wrong battery percentage so I never know the real one ! The dealer doesn’t find the problem and the solution…
I don't understand the dealer, they must have offered training to the staff and full workshop manuals. All they have to do is replace a electric motor or controller, that probably two bolts and connector.
I don't think they were! This bike is new and different, and sold in small numbers. In the end it didn't need to go that far, just a software update. Been running fine since.

The warrant in Europe and Switzerland is only for 2 years... Nothing more. Lucky you to be in Japan... 5 years what a dream...
I ordered mine, which will arrive in April 2024. It's my 4th BMW bike.
Considering buying one. May be next year if they increase the range.
This is the CE-04 which is I think 400cc equivalent. Maybe in the future they will make a larger CE-06 or 08 with more power and range.

No I don't want one. I could if I wanted. I had 2 Onyxes RCRs and only drive electric cars. No more petrol for me.@@Bobbgeane
5:36 I think 'Riding at mod. speed pos.' might mean 'Riding at moderate speed possible'.
I suspect most dealerships will not know how to repair issues with these new electric bikes. You will both learn together.

Oil to cool the motor ?? The purpose of an electric motor is avoiding definitely oil, petrol etc etc... Oil = maintenance.
Any word on what the issue is? Maybe a controller issue. Board got wet not sealed properly?

Have had mine three months, and it won't power up. Dead as a hammer. Charged it and the next day nothing
Sounds like it could be a problem with the 12v systems. Im sure BMW will fix under warranty. Bike is fully covered for like 3 years.
