  • I was asked for one of these so videoed it as well. I used to make them and got out the old story boards. After 30years this pattern is still good for a farmhouse kitchen. These are a great project for any woodturner to practce with many different aspects of spindle turning needed as well as facework. I made a lot of these as an apprentice to help fund my training.

Been a subscriber for awhile now, and I have to say this is my favorite channel to watch. Always excited when a new video is uploaded. I would love to see you go back into your woodturning vault and pull out a few more treasures like this one. Thanks so much for sharing.

Wonderful! How about a video on how you make your story boards, or jigs to mark the wood, especially the metal one.

My story boards are just pins in the board filed down and the metal jig is just a slot cut in a flat piece of sheet metal.

Great demonstration, I am always inspired to get out and make a few projects. Thanks so much for sharing and making it look so easy. The story boards and drilling jig are fantastic, so simple yet very effective shop made accessories.

amazing to watch, love to peek over your shoulder when you sharpen that skew. My guess the metal in that skew is 1/2 Kryptonite! wow

Made my evening over here in the states, I made a mug stand not too long ago, I am not yet proficient at laying out complementary shapes yet so I made it out of walnut and the shapes were copies of bamboo, I’ve done some table legs to look like bamboo also. Is there a good reference book to study those classics shapes?

Thank you, I’m sorry I don’t know of any good reference books for woodturning classic shapes.

This is so cool, whats the tool you use to cut through the wood while it spins. Thanks
