Geranium ALWAYS dies in the very strong heat of 47 Degree Celsius in places like Lucknow (Uttar Pradesh, India) where I live. In winters we have temperatures from around 7 degree C during days to almost 0 degree C. at nights and flowers bloom well. I have tried all methods from putting them in shade and putting inside home too but nothing works. Can you suggest any remedy? Also we have heavy rains during rainy season but Geraniums die even before Rains arrive and so do all Succulents and many other plants like these. Can you please suggest something? - Dr. Bhupesh C. Have you tried more heat tolerant geraniums? I live in Nevada (90-95 F) right now in August. I found geranium called Calliope, it is doing better in the heat than the traditional zonal geraniums. So, look for a variety that is specifically more heat tolerant.
@@n.v.b2 Thanks Mam for taking trouble to give this valuable suggestion. I am not sure if such type of geraniums are available in Delhi - NCR (as I now live there). But I'll be happy to try if I get. My question was put up over 3 years back and am HAPPILY SURPRISED to see that someone has suddenly responded to a 3 year old question. At that time I was in Lucknow where I had an independent home (not a flat) with fairly good space; lawn as well as big terrace. In 2019 itself I shifted to Delhi-NCR and now live in a Flat with two small balconies only. So no matter how much I love plants, it's much more difficult to plant varieties (as I used to earlier) and save them after the season is over and CLIMATES CHANGE DRASTICALLY. Thanks again and regards. - Professor Bhupesh C Little
