Yamamoto Yamatanuki Challenge - Which size? How do you rig it? When do you use it?

I had already come to the conclusion that the Yamamoto Yamatanuki is a terrific bait for bass. I've caught caught many different species of bass on the Yamatanuki, but what is the best way to rig it (especially in late fall or winter)?
So, I set out to determine if weightless or ned rig is the best, and also determine which size catches the most fish. But, to add to everything, I'm doing it at the tail end of fall/beginning of winter (one of the most difficult times to catch bass).

Disappointed about the tear outs. Hoping they make an improvement soon. It is a fishing machine. Weightless caught 1 on the 2.5" & 4 on the 3.5" . Any tips on catching more than 2 or 3 fish per lure?

I’ve had success with super glue. It makes that first lure last longer but it’s hard to do on the water!
