My brother, who was 13 months older than me, too me to see Sam at City Winery in Nashville a few months before he died. "Same Ole River" was the closer and I'll never forget looking at my brother, he had a cocktail in his hand just jammin' away, and it was like time stopped. I can close my eyes today and go right back there and this song, especially the long jams of this version. It's cathartic to go there and feel it all. Appreciate this post and Sam Bush for this beautiful song!
It’s nice to see someone credit Jeff Black for his terrific tune. The one time I saw Jeff White he was playing in Krauss’s Union Station band. I only saw Jeff Black in a solo setting.
If you can make it, go to the Telluride Bluegrass Festival. I’ve been many times. Sam is rightfully known as “ The King Of Telluride.” I’ve heard him play this masterpiece in Telluride. It was a spiritual blessing.

Long days and pleasant nights
Stuart Duncan wins the solo award here, phenomenal!
A couple hundred people in a bars basement in Pittsburgh- easily one of the best concerts I’ve ever seen.
The pure mastery of talent, the way they converse to each other with their instrument. Ageless...this music will be credible 100 years from now.
The whole world needs to hear this.
Yes.
Anything with Sam Bush is an automatic line. I work at Telluride every other year and he is truly the king of that beautiful town
Watching Sam and Stuart playing off of each other with such joy is beautiful to watch, and the ensemble's intricate sound is just balm to the soul.
Exactly--I never expect to see and hear more enjoyable music in my life. Long live Sam, a positive force in the world...

I strongly agree !
Dont forget Bela. That man has done more for the banjo in our lifetime than most.
🤩
Few have the talent of a Sam Bush or bela fleck or many more. Bluegrass has so much heart in every chord every more is pastured with love and it shows
Nothing beats hearing Sam play this live.
Jacob Arrowood Circles is the best live...
Sam is such a good singer, he doesn't get enough credit for that!
I love the fact that Jeff White is playing on a song by Jeff Black
And if they ever formed a band or duo, they could call it Shades of Grey...

This never fails to make me smile big! 😊🤗😋 Never ever! Thank you Sam Bush! See ya soon at DelFest 2019!
one of the greatest songs ever written
The force of positivity that has been the music of Sam Bush - thank you!
2o second into this, if you don't see the absolute grilliance of the talent...I can't help you.
One of my all time favorites. I need to hear Sam perform this live some time.

Wonderful. Such a great moment.
Greatest!
Dear GOD, I sure do love ❤️ bluegrass !
Amazing.
Sam pretending to detune Bela's Banjo at 4:11 is hilarious... Only Sam could get away with that!
TOO FINE - GO SAM...AND ALL - HIT IT ----- WOW!
listen to this and try not to smile, impossible.
Stuart Duncan!
about 6:50. wonderful
Bela is the goat
Ooh that pedal steel…
😲
Sam bush mahavisnu mountain boy
Must be a bluegrass guy at the soundboard. Drums are non-existent.
who ever mixed this was doing a terrible job in general. it's incredibly thin. only instrument you can hear well is Bela's banjo
Sam’s mandolin comes through well. I’d take the sound person at my church. My mandolin is non existent in the mix.
@@soundbyjakeIt May be time to schedule that appointment with the ear doctor.
