    Are there specs or blueprints for the door made?

    I don’t know if you will see this but I was a painter for years and something that might make spraying more comfortable for you is instead of having the line in front of you while spraying, put it behind you and hold the excess line with your left hand. (The line should be right at your belt line) it helps keep the line from snagging on anything and helps prevent it from getting too much sag and hitting the project. Idk if you would enjoy that but it’s worth a test run if you run into those issues. I love the door, could something like this work as an exterior door with the right finish?

    Nice work but the construction is the most simple part. Would have liked to hear about the hard part, wood selection, stability, grain direction and how the door is holding up in use, is it still flat?

    great saw, why didn't you get the mathing shaper with it? The dadoing of the rails and styles looked a bit unsafe to me especially when it came to the long parts. A shaper with a power feeder would make short work of that! You could even use a counter profile knife and not need any of those tenons!

    I notice most wood doors are laminated for stability? Will a solid wood door like yours have a problem with warping the long way? Thinking of building shaker doors myself. Also is dowel or domino in each joint for strength or for alignment? Thank You

    • @frenchriversprings
      @frenchriversprings  2 года назад +1

      My door never warped but the wood was really dry. Yes dowels for alignment and strength

    How thick is the door? How deep and wide did you do the dado cuts? Very interested in the math behind this. I am about to set forth on my own door.

    Info please on that giant MFT, did you make it yourself? I've wanted a MFT but they seem so small.

    • @frenchriversprings
      @frenchriversprings  2 года назад +1

      Yes I made it myself. I made the holes using the parf guide system. Woodpecker also sells a gig to makes holes in mft table now. Yep the mft tables that you can buy are way too small and so flimsy.

    So... that's how the pros do it. Now that I know, I just need the tools and skills you have and it will be a piece of cake. No kidding anymore: congratulations on this demonstration of professionalism -starting by the tidiness of your woodshop- and, of course, the beauty of your result. Your video not only shows how to build a door, but how someone anyone would like to hire works.
