I’ve heard that the blue eyed Gwen is a variant, basically a mistake, and all subsequent dolls should have brown eyes like the box art; it was just these first batches that have blue eyes.
God I hope that’s true

I know it's an older video, but i still wanted to share that I never considered getting mermaze mermaidz previously, but today I saw Gwen and the dark skinned girl at the store and.....oh my goodness. I need this line. I used to find their faces pretty creepy and uncanny valley, but the winter waves dolls' faces improved so much! My favorite ones are kishiko and harmonique, they're gonna be the first ones to joiny collection 🥺🥰
I like this wave. They've improved with the stands and closed boxes and added accessories. I could do without the body shimmer though, and the heads that won't stay upright.
I love the snow globe effect on their tails!!! I’m definitely going to have to get at least one of them 😍
I definitely like this wave better than the first. However, the price went up to $60 in Canada from $45. I will likely get Kishiko, and then I'll see about maybe getting Nera on sale. If I compare these to a Barbie in the same price range (e.g. the Holiday Barbie), my impression is the quality level is higher in the Mermaze.

I’m glad they closed the box up. I saw several that were damaged before they left the store. Gwen is so pretty and unique.
I'm also glad they closed the box up too. In theory the first box was cool and different but in reality having the tails exposed like that is only asking for disasters to happen.

I have been on a mission to find liv dolls I want. We have some 2nd hand so I made it a point to get a few in box with all their accessories. I love inset eyes.

I definitely like this wave better and might even get some of them. Idk their names but the second and third dolls are so pretty!! The first girl isn’t bad just personally not my cup of tea❤ thank you so much for the consistent videos!!!!
I have Crystabella and Kishiko in the winter waves collection and I have Gwen on order but not got Nera yet. These dolls are so beautiful and the clothing, make up and accessories are exquisite!!!😍 Putting the clip lower down the tail is a master stroke!!👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽…Thank you for showing this, I never thought to do it and spent a long time wrestling with Crystabella’s jacket which is long and wide round the hips, making for some issues when trying to get her to stay on her stand while wearing it. Fantastic video, so informative and interesting!!! Out of interest, Have you received any of the Mermaidz slumber party dolls yet? I managed to get the Kinslee doll here in the Uk a few days ago. I fell in love with her the moment I saw her and thinking of getting Zuna too. Can’t wait to see what the future holds for mermaidz. I heard they lost their licence but the dolls are still being sold here in the Uk. Long live Mermaids… Their dolls are gorgeous 🥰🧜🏽♀️💖💕

I got Nera a while back and I was so excited to see she came with a stand!! Her tail didn't change color though, oddly enough, and I used ice water so I don't know what the deal was. I'll have to try again. Loved your review...even though I can just go in my room and stare at Nera in person. 😂 But really though after I got Nera, I couldn't stop staring at her. She's gorgeous!!!!!!!!!

Awesome review! MGA needs to send you more to review! Honestly I was thinking of getting them and putting them on other bodies with legs. I’ve never been much of a mermaid fan, idk why. However, I think you have sold me on keeping their mermaid bodies! I love them! Also, loving the new packaging!
I appreciate any kind of acknowledgement from companies honestly! It means a lot that they appreciate/acknowledge anything that I do 🥹 I REALLY love their bodies and that they’re mermaids. I do really hate that they can’t sit down. I would even tolerate like… an almost sit…. But as is now I’m a bit sad about it

Me too. I know what you mean about the 'dead eyes'. Beautiful though they are I wish they had a bit more character in their faces - I also think it would look far nicer if they were smiling! Also there was more variety in the faces. The dolls would be more interesting to me if their faces were not all identical.

Does anybody know if they make cool fairy dolls like these? Fairies are a little bit more my personal aesthetic. Also, does anybody know if the fresh dolls will ever make fairy or princess dolls? I feel like their dolls in amazing ballgowns would be absolutely stunning.
Someone commented earlier saying they have 'dead eyes'. I'm afraid I have to agree - their faces are very beautiful but seem totally expressionless. Plus they are all identical which is uninteresting. I wish they could show a bit more character and diversity in their faces, plus they would look so much nicer / happier / more attractive if they were smiling!

I still am not sure if they are worth the $40 price tag. I will be waiting for sales for them. I love that they now have stands. All the characters are well designed, but I do wish kishiko would have been closer to her original version but I still think she’s beautiful. The switch in hair is best to keep consistency across the line. While I do enjoy the glitter snow globe tails for this line as it’s a winter wonderland theme, I really do hope these mermaids stop relying on such gimmicks and just improve the articulation of their tails! The color change feature isn’t necessary to me but if they keep it I’d like for it to be all the way around the body and a more dramatic or fun transition wood be nice. I also hope the mermaids start including merman in future waves and some better playsets that work with water would draw kids/ adults that actually play with dolls. Merchandise for mermaze mermaids would be great too, especially a full movie or longer webisodes .Maybe they will go on sale after a few weeks or months. No lie though I’m more excited about MonsterHigh coming soon so that’s gonna be priority for me.

Are any of their hairtypes the same as Kishiko from wave 1? (I'm not sure what hairtype it was, but I fell in love... I've never seen any doll with yaki (?) fibre hair)
These dolls are pretty though, but they're retailing for €68 here which is way too high... Definitely for their quality control (I'm not sure how it is this time, but there were problems with the first wave). Even the colour change not being both sides seems cheap for that price point 😅
And of course the head falling to the side...
For the freckles, as this is a winter line, I'm not too bothered by it as I personally only have freckles during summer because of the sun (but it would've been cool if she kept them though)
If the dolls were whimsical they would be such a hit! I really don't think this doll line will last if it stays with these questionable designs... The accessories look so cheap compared to Rainbow High's. Nera is the prettiest 💜 Her design is the most cohesive. At least her fin looks like a fish tail. Gwen is terrible. I don't get why she got yellow hair and such warm shimmer. In addition, I don't think the water filled tails will last 😬
Beautiful dolls & great review👏😍! My favorite is the rainbow hair one 👍 I think the price point is high so I don't think I'll be getting one anytime soon👎 They remind me of RH but then again I feel like most dolls today all look a like in their faces 🤔

They have stands? That’s great! One thing I really disliked from the first line was that the tails split open to stand and it wasn’t super reliable. I do wish they could sit though. That’s like required when you have a mermaid doll with no legs.
I think the globe legs are really cool! It reminds me the novistars doll with the water (?) legs. The new designs are really nice. I didn’t like the crystal fins at first but they are prettier in person.
Brown vs blue eyes and yellow blonde vs white blonde.
I don’t care for the fabric/clothing elements in the tails. I appreciate the creativity and design that went into them, but it pulls me away from the mermaid fantasy. I also wish they didn’t ALL have the more “edgy” touches. It’s fine to have some edgy dolls (I get that not every doll is designed for my taste and I’m fully okay with that) but I also crave full on fantasy girly cute dolls that are so saccharine they hurt my eyes and teeth just looking at them. I don’t need all my mermaids to be rockstars.
That being said, I will overlook all these criticisms for the glory of those SNOW GLOBE TAILS!!!! I’ve always adores any toy with a snow globe gimmick. I can’t resist it. I’m totally aging myself here, but some of my favorite childhood era dolls were Krystal Princesses, which were mini dolls who each came in her own coordinating mini snow globe dome. They are still some of my favorite dolls to this day.
I hope they release more of these mermaids with the snow globe tails. It’s such a gorgeous detail.
I can’t decide how I feel about their faces. I love inset eyes and I’m a big BJD fan, but there’s something just slightly off with these faces and I can’t put my finger on it. They have a slight “dead eye” gaze. I also wish they had one or two that had more cute/innocent makeup instead of them all having such dramatic/sultry makeup. That being said, their facial screenings are all stunning, especially for the price point. I especially love those nude/mauve glossy lips on the one with the dark hair.
My daughter’s friend has one of these dolls (not the snow globe tail ones) and I got to see it before I knew what they were. I was immediately impressed by their articulation, detail, and inset eyes. Sadly though, the hair was already trashed even though I could tell the doll wasn’t very old, and it was one where the tails felt really cheap. I’m glad they seem to have corrected some of the issues from earlier releases.
I am still on the fence with these dolls (I don’t collect many contemporary dolls/toys) but I will definitely keep my eyes open for sales and may pick one up if I see one of my preferred designs on sale.

They definitely improved.the faces are fuller and not as gaunt as before, and I'm so glad that they closed up the boxed so the mermaid's tails are protected. Kishiko's the prettiest

I'm feeling the same way about this line as I did the first. That they're beautiful dolls, and that I feel they're all consistently good throughout the line, but that there's no one doll in either line that speaks to me. As a result, I don't have a single stand-out doll that I love and have yet to give in for the price. I'll probably wait until they go on clearance so I can buy a couple at once.
I really hope they can work on things. In my eyes they are SO CLOSE to being fantastic. The articulation issue getting worse somehow is worrisome but so much has improved. I’m very curious about their next batch
@@xCanadensis Same! This has become a line where I'm interested when news drops, but not sold. I know I'll give in eventually, but it's just a matter of when an in store doll connects with me enough that I'm willing to look past their issues and give in. I do kind of love how soft those blonde twists look though? But I'd also like to have more pieces to play around with on the dolls themselves. The coats this line actually help a lot with that!

Was it riviera? I’ve put all of mine in the pool except Shellnelle and they’ve all held up. Riviera’s hair even out of water needs a lot of work though
