How can people say that this car is ugly but say the Mercedes is good-looking? Are people blind? I mean I know everyone has their own opinion, but damn. This car is just sexy, period. The front looks so aggressive. I love it.

Aggressive, yes? Bad looking? That wouldn't be fair to say, even if one does not like it, but it doesn't look good, either. It looks a bit bland; like they hired some cartoon strip artist for a designer and all he ever comes up with is ever bigger front grills, because he's heard that is the new metric for a car's worth in China, and apparently the US, where they compensate for their small genitalia with that. Audis have never looked slicker than today, but they are certainly not inspiring. And then cars have other redeeming qualities than just looks, or else Porsche could never have sold a single Panamera, so I am sure the Audi is a great car; I don't wanna say bad looking, it is just not special looking to me. It is more of the same from Audi yet again. If you look at MB, the S class has a more distinct evolution; the new one defo looks better than the previous one, it oozes status - you may still think it is 'ugly' though... but hey, this is RUclips, so go crazy, dude ;)
Look, it is 2014 and I'll be damned if there is a single 'bad' car out there from the establshed manufacturers. Thus it pains me all the more that car reviews still try to determine a winner like it is 1980 all over again by comparing retarded things like 0-60, boot size, bla-bla... add it all up and come up with something idiotic like the Audi scored 86 points and the MB 83 points, and therefore is somehow 'better' - wtf? Cars of this range are a matter of preference... preference of style of course, and a few other things, it is about feel, so I hope the breed of idiot reviewers who really just wanna take ANY car to the track for an excuse to see which is 'best' dies a horrible death. So if you like the Audi, good for you. If your neighbour buys the MB, he is not an idiot somehow, he simply has a different taste...
Baerchenization The new S class is just a better in every area, it has been declared best luxury car of 2014 in the world, and by far. It's the new benchmark, just look at the cabin or the technology.
Anyway in terms of design the S class is more stealty and classy than this ostentatious Audi

I'm noy much of a big car kind of guy, but this thing is nice looking. The car detailers sure did a good job of shining this thing up.

What a truly beautiful and innovative car.Of course it is way beyond my means of ever owning one,but the sheer pleasure of ogling this masterpiece carries with it a "what if?".Others seem to view this car as "ugly"yet great craftmanship has gone into and I don't think,if I may,that this should be denigrated.Aesthetically it is nouveau modern and technologically advanced all attributes I would aspire to!

WOW that thing is a beast! You get a a lot of car for the money! Love that brown leather interior! Looks almost like Baseball glove leather. The leather that takes years to break down. :)

A car like this with such a huge price tag should have IWC or Rolex analog clock or anything of the kind and not Audi made clock. Atleast, people who buy them will know they are really getting something great for their money. The quad pipes should have experienced a redesign considering that Audi have had this oval pipes design since 2006 with the S8 V10 model. I for once think there are too many things wrong with this car. The exaggerated grill, the steering wheel still looks regular like any other entry audi models, the dash board is still the same since 2010, the MMI display unit is still the same. I mean common Audi, look at your counterpart Mercedes and see what they have done with the C class, CLS, S class and now the S class coupé. Every time Mercedes releases a facelift of any model, there is always a huge improvement ranging from the exterior, interior, engine performance (Bhp & torque). Infact, the ergonomics in Mercedes cars is just mind blowing. All audi does is to briefly tidy up a design that has already been accomplished, inflate the price tag and call it a facelift. What's next after this?

Excuse me but the s-class is butt ugly by comparison. This is seriously cool looking. Purposeful, agressive and slightly over the top, yet at the same time understated. Audi are doing things so right. Great company. Oh, I drive a Mercedes but I'm looking at Audi.

gianhet Like jaqjaques says the new S-class is ugly with no character whatsoever. Look at those taillights of the S-class, then look at the taillights of this S8. The Mercedes looks like a joke.
I hope this new trend to design the grills of cars to look like trucks goes away soon. If I wanted an ugly grill I would buy a GMC pickup.

Everything is nice, but the vehicle right, left mirror does not suit such a beauty.
Odd thing. With the new 2014-2015 Stingray Vette's some people have a problem with the rear-end. With this S8, for me, it's the front grill. Too long. Should have lined up the bottom of the grill with the bottom of the headlights.
