This works for a 2018, the 2017 ford escape doesn’t have this option In a 2017 ford escape turn the car to the “on” position (push to start push the button without the brake) (key turn to on position) After the car is on (not started) push in the brake and gas at the same time and hold until the car gives the message “reset complete” when you first start it will tell you “oil reset in progress”
For those without the menu item to reset the oil, but have a push-button start, hit the start button without pressing the brakes. The control system will come on but the engine will not start. Then press the gas and brake together and hold until the message "reset complete" appears.
This does not work for a 2016. You have to hold the brake and gas down at the same time and turn the key on but not start the vehicle. Vehicle isn't even an option on the menu for me.
Oh my God thank you so much I had my oil changed a while back and I still have like three thousand miles to go but this lot just all the sudden came on and I haven't had a chance to take it by the dealership yet thank you thank you thank you
When I get to settings, hit OK and scroll down, THERE IS NO....'VEHICLE' option, and thusly no, ' OIL LIFE RESET option.. I tried this many times on my keyless, 2016 escape, with ignition both on and off.
I have a 2017 and this did not work for me for some reason. However I did the hold the break and gas down at the same time and turn the key until the dash reads reset complete! Do not turn the key all the way!
does not work on the 2017 Ford escape when you get into settings and go to vehicle your only choices are a compass, lighting and wipers… No indicator for oil
@@Network126 I have a 2016 Escape Titanium, which is keyless and HAS NO keyhole on the steering column, which is why the gas/brake pedal reset doesn't work.
EXACTLY! I followed the instuctions and hit SETTINGS, but when you scroll down, there IS NO 'Vehicle' option. All I seem to get is 'My Key', over and over as options.
Turn the key on but do not start the engine. Press the brake pedal and gas pedal down at the same time. Watch the dash - it will read “oil reset in progress”. Hold it about 20 seconds until it tells you “reset complete “.
Never did a reply before so I put in the wrong place. Try again. If you hold brake and gas and press start/stop vehicle will start. With 1st push of button step on gas pedal first then step on brake pedal. Reset will occur after a few.
Ford Escape 19 absolutely the worst vehicle nightmare I ever had they covered the repairs just barely engine problems transmission problems over and over again don't walk away run away from that car

Thank you @skiddybigman2636 your answer worked perfectly
Easy and it worked on my 2017! Thanks @skiddybigman2636
Thank you for the heads up, this really helped!!
Yes it worked for me as well. You have to hold brake and gas until it says reset complete. I’m using full synthetic and can go another 2 or 3k
I think I love you!!! Thank you so much!!!

@@jamesrobinette2580 did you find a solution?

Thank you. Many RUclipsrs are saying press the brake and gas. Doesn’t work for this model. Appreciate your help.
Worked for my 2017. Thanks
Setting>vehicle only ahows compass, lighting and wipers
On some like in my case on this 2017 Ford I held the gas and brake peddle as well as following other steps.
@@JRRepair thats great, but did you know that the juice control like all of banking?
This is all mine says also
@@JRRepair thanks this worked
Some you have to turn key on, then hold gas and brake down. It will display oil reset in progress on the dash

Thank you man, had other videos lying to me about gas and brake pressing
I have a 2017 and this did not work for me for some reason. However I did the hold the break and gas down at the same time and turn the key until the dash reads reset complete! Do not turn the key all the way!
Thank you a lot
I think it depends on the model you have, I have a 4wd LE edition eco boost so this video worked for me and your way didn't
About to try this now
Thank you. This worked for me and my Mom. I didn't have the oil change option in settings.
Yes & it will say oil change reset in progress just continue holding both break & gas pedals until it says complete!
does not work on the 2017 Ford escape when you get into settings and go to vehicle your only choices are a compass, lighting and wipers… No indicator for oil
I miss you Sir. There is a very long period when you uploaded the last video!
Thanks, worked great on my mothers 2017 Escape
Thank you my friend.
Thank you. I couldn’t use the video either
Thank you the double brake and gas pedal video out there does, not work this totally did

I'm glad my How to Reset Oil Light on 2017 ford escape video worked for you
He
said works for 2017? Actually on my 2017 the ONLY way it works is while pressing the brake and gas pedal! You should update the video.
Thanks Sir! You helped me! Problem solved!😅
my 16 doesn't have a vehicle option ..
EXACTLY! I followed the instuctions and hit SETTINGS, but when you scroll down, there IS NO 'Vehicle' option. All I seem to get is 'My Key', over and over as options.
The procedure is different. Watch other videos for the correct procedure.
“Pretty simple” except that for a 2017, it’s wrong. There is no “reset oil life” under “vehicle” on the 2017.
May I ask, what you did to clear, mine is same, no option for oil ? Thank you!
Turn the key on but do not start the engine. Press the brake pedal and gas pedal down at the same time. Watch the dash - it will read “oil reset in progress”. Hold it about 20 seconds until it tells you “reset complete “.
Thank you!
I wouldn’t be changing my oil based off what the manufacturer does via that gauge
My 2016 doesn't have the "Vehicle" option. Oh well.
Hi, can be applied for eacape 2019?
Eunice Barajas Sure can!
@@nic-li7rh thanks!
Appreciate the help!
No reset oil life option...
Is not the same for the 2017 model
Mine doesn't say oil change reset at all
Thanks
Amazing, thank you dear.
thank you
Mine doesn't have that option
Have a '16 and no 'vehicle' option
That's some great mileage
2017 ford u have to hold brake and gas at the same time
2017 Escape Titanium 2.0l Ecoboost requires brake-gas pedal reset
Correct. But have to press gas pedal first then step on brake pedal.

With 1st push of button step on gas pedal first then step on brake pedal.

Ty
Opinion: if you are going to hang onto the car, don’t let the vehicle get to 0% oil life remaining, your car will thank you.
Didn't work. My '17 doesn't have the same options under Compass, Lighting, Wipers.
That oil reset option isn’t available just Compass, Lighting, Wipers
Wierd, i have a 2017 escape se and no option for the oil life reset
You were wrong about 2017 ford escape
Ça ne fonctionne pas sur escape 2017 😐

Not correct for a 2017 escape titanium!
It’s not the same for a 17
Does NOT work on the 2017 models
Doesn't work on 2016 keyless models, either. There IS NO 'Vehicle' option under, Settings!
