Almost picked one of these up back in the fall, but an injury has kept me off the bike for a while and I decided against it. Just getting back to riding now, but still snow on the ground, so I'll probably wait until next fall/winter to get a fatty. Good review, though, glad to see I wasn't way off base considering a "cheaper" brand.

Can I use 26” wheels with 4.8 minions? Is this bike only good for 27.5 wheels?

great video! just ordered an alaskan bike, waiting for it to be shipped to me. Do you know if you can put 27.5 x 4.5 tires on this bike? I need to put the widest tire possible for the desert riding in Albuquerque

Yes, I'm running the original 4" but i know you can run wider.

What made you chose the Alaskan over the Wolftrax?

Primarily the geometry and that it comes with 27.5 wheels/tires. The geometry more closely matched my current mountain bikes.
