This is what Hollywood/media does...isolate...build...crush. If you go to New Orleans and hear the brass bands play on the streets and in the parades you'll see that it's very community driven and all inclusive. It's a culture. It's real music almost spiritual. This bland, lifeless interviewer who insinuated that Trombone Shorty would move on to "bigger" things...like what, acknowledgement from the Academy/Hollywood ? I swear an average brass band musician in the NOLA has more talent, passion and soul in his pinky finger than the by products they're churning out in Hollywood. This interviewer, who seemed disgusted by the delightful female at the end, has NO business filtering the NOLA spirit/experience through his NON soul/lifeless composure.
