I remember having an insane obsession with Liete. I was allowing no monster to touch her, boosted Sue's stats to an insane point so I can transfer them all to Liete, fan arts... wow.
Liete is easily one of the most tragic characters in the game, her backstory is pretty rough if you think about it. I don't feel like they explored her character enough in the game but then again the game never really went too deep into tragic events and the impacts they had on the people, it was a bit too light-hearted of a story to do that. ^^ Not saying it as criticism, its just something I would've preferred.
Well she's the last of a indefinite amount of Lietes, and she had a father. I don't think it's ever stated how long she's been around, or if she really would be the last. Not to mention her own tablet.
Truely wondeful but amost haunting in its own right. Makes me wonder what dreams lie beyond the myriad of thoughts and wishes out there in the world. May your tablet be red. Liete of Alent.
Watching a LP to this extremely beautiful game atm, just reached Alent and OMG, it is amazing. Not only the Story or gameplay, the entire detail of this game is simply amazing, I wish I had experienced this game as A Child... I want Games to be like THIS again, bringing you the whole palette of emotions, Grandia, even though I have not played it, through the Let's Player I watched and the Game itself easy became one of my personal favourites for life. Thank you so much for the Upload!
Venoix the Mister watched a german Let's Play of the Game so I think it will not help you much to know the RUclipsr, but he talks about " Sionartwork ", we both watch Sion =)
«Long ago, in the ancient past, men could speak with Spirits. This is a story from an age when humans were merely a small part of this world. The people of this time spoke of many things with the Spirits, and the people also learned many, many things from the world. The light of the Spirit Stone, the symbol of the promise, continued to illuminate the world. The people gained sufficient power to travel, even to the faraway stars. But finally, the day came when men learned to steal. They stole riches from their own land and power from the skies, and last of all, they stole the Spirit Stones from the hands of the Icarian twins. They even tried to change the world with that light. Gaia greatly changed the appearance of the world. But, people had forgotten that the light of the Spirit Stones reflects one's very own soul. The people who had forgotten the promise had already lost the blessings of the Spirits. Halting the death of the world was already impossible, just as the people could not halt their own desire. When the Spirit Stone broke apart, the bond between people and the world was also severed.
Lol. Here we make fun of the Norwegians for no adequate reason. And I'm glad you like my videos. I'll be sure to put up some more in the near future. My "Grandia the Movie" has not been cast aside just yet! >:)
I wish she wasnt such a wasted character. Still salty about how massively built up she and Angelou were and then the game sends you to that place for maybe 40 minutes and then "be off, the finale awaits!" basically. Liete doesn't even get further character development or some fleshed out moments or something else besides "I trust in Justin", as if the devs ran out of space or time that she was "just handed out" to have a final party member that can actually cast magic, something Guido was unable to, poor rat boy.
GRANDIA FOREVER!
Yes it is. The musicians who helped to make this such a wonderful experience did an excellent job bring both heart and soul to this story.
She's really nice, mysterious... and also strong in battle. Always reminded me an halfway between Sailor Pluto and (Ex) Queen Serenity.

well it is criticsm, dont hold back about it, the game is quite flawed overall, esp CD2 where more of those problems come to light.

It's like she's mourning.
Can you hear it?
I feel like I'll never be able to play all the great rpgs out there.
"You're mine! Trallallaa lalallallaa!"
She sounds drunk as a skunk when she says that!

ami me encanta este pinchi juego
It is haunting. For Liete, who mearly watched history unfold, not truely living at all, she is as a ghost living on Alent
I have to admit that'd be one great afterlife.
absolut korrekt :D ich frage mich,w arum grandia sich nicht dursetzen konnte, aber final fantasy schon ...
Find the real Liete between the illusions.

you just made me wander who made this music
Almost. I'm from Sweden. ^^
Reminds me of David Lynch’s Twin Peaks.
I wish there was DX
that would be too great .___.
But whom do Norwegians mock then? I'm from Finland and have no quarrel with Swedes.
lucky you get to play it. :C
FF9 to!!
