THANK U Brett, I BUILT MY 3" THICK 24" DRUM. THEN I USED a 4 BOLT FLANGE. $12 HAD SOME 1/2" SOFT STEEL BAR, BOUGHT 6 SMALL STAINLESS SHACKLES. HAVE 6 DIFFERENT SIZE BAGS , I ALTERNATE THEM THROUGHOUT MY WORKOUT. FROM DRUM TO BOTTOM of SHACKLE is 2 1/4 " . AWESOME SPEED WITH this SHORT DISTANCE. THANKS AGAIN
Knowing now that this guy made it instead of some company makes me feel confident about the product, I’ll definitely buy even if it’s a bit pricey compared to others.
This thing is FAST! I wanted to give myself a challenge so I bought an extra small bag to go with it. It’s a lot of fun and holding up great so far. Thank you so much for making these.
I saw this video years back and remember thinking I would love to have one of those. I just bought one on amazon and put 2 and 2 together and realized it was the one that dude made on RUclips. Cool to see how you just a posted video to show a better swivel you made and now you’re selling them all over the country.👍
Another way of shorting the swivel is by recessing the mounting plate into the platform or mounting the swivel onto a block then drilling a hole large enough through the platform so the neck of the swivel can pass through it, then the mounting block is screwed down onto the top side of the platform. Don't get me wrong, your swivel design is great!
Man great idea, I just about to finish mine based on your idea. I used a four holes bearing a bit heavier than your but same idea. Now I just need the platform but that one easier to get. Thanks for the video, I'll share photos of mine once I finish it. Greetings from Colombia.
I just received and installed my unit! The package itself came in a day early, great service if you ask me. Such a badass shorty swivel, rebounds are way faster and it actually reduces some noise. The standard longer "3.5 swivels have a louder slap with bass...this shorty "2.25 swivel sounds like a full dribble without the slap, sounds and feels awesome. Shoulders started burning faster too! Highly recommend!
I have both an everlast pro swivel and title deluxe swivel. This is the best one, I'm sure it compares to the title lighning fast swivel but LMF is shorter by a .25". And cost half!
Hey Bretthl1 just wanted say thanks a million. My hubby bought a cheap ring side swivel and was very disappointed. He found your you tube video and has begun constructing his own following your directions. Only complaint so far is that the shipping of the bearing is almost twice as much as the bearing it self from most places. He finally found a place that ships at a reasonable price. Finding a 3/16 bow shackle is appearing to be a little hard as well. The smallest he can find is 5/16 so far from local hardware stores. He loves the idea and feels your swivel is going to be the best swivel once complete but it might cost a little more then store bought ones once you add in shipping costs. Thanks
This is a GREAT swivel. Thank you for showing us how to make it. I don't know what time you have, but you should patent this. If you don't by our a fool and I mean that in the nicest way. You deserve to make money off of something thought out this well and would help guys training on the speed bag. Thanks and good luck if ya do.
Thanks for the awesome post. Gonna definitely give it a shot. Please consider looking into a patent for this. I don’t know the demand for high quality speed bag swivels but if they’re considerable, you’ve come up with the solution. Check into it. You may be sitting on a goldmine. Thanks again for sharing a great idea and for providing such a clear, thorough yet concise breakdown of how to make it happen. All the best. 😎
I'd be willing to pay for one also. :) Using the everlast pro with a reyes XS and it just won't work properly. I have to attach the bag using a standard zip tie to the swivel to get any kind of smooth action from it. Would need one of those ball bearing ones or what you have I guess. Nice design! LE: just watched the whole video, thanks for all the details on parts used. I will have one made locally, can source a bearing like that for sure. Really good vid
I just bought a speed bag I got no round board for it to hang from and I don't have a swivel I am from the UK just wondering if I could make one from stuff from bnq or something
Great idea and vid but just wondering (for how it will fit in existing platform) - what is the distance between carriage bolt holes on the flange? Thanks
The bolt centers are 2.5". On my old drum I placed the two holes in the center line of the four hole pattern of the standard swivel. Not ideal cosmetics, but no structural problems. I built the drum in the video later, so it has no holes from standard swivels.
This is a great swivel. But how should I oil it? White lithium grease? WD40? Take it apart and put it back together? It is squeaking loud and losing a bit of speed. Still better that other swivels. Thanks!
Actually, I prefer the slower, simpler swivel, because it makes me 'Work harder. My hands are already fast---I like to combine the Speed with power. However, I do have the better model, for when I really feel like rippin' INTO the little bag.
any issues with the screw (that holds the shackle) coming loose with repeated use? I was wondering if I might be ahead of myself to just put some loctite on it.
Hey there how’s it going, had a question about the bearings. I have a title swivel with 3 bearings. Do u know if it will be hard to swap the bearings out?
If they are sealed cartridge bearings then all you do is pull them and get the part numbers. They all standard sizes. If they are loose ball bearings (like the old style bike hubs ) the races are probably worn out and not replaceable.
sir i just have a question. How much would it cost me for you to make one for me? I will pay for the costs of the materials as well as the shipping. Please let me know as I'm not very handy with anything involving tools unfortunately but I would really like one of your swivels. Please let me know at your earliest convenience. Thank you
Yes, that is the legal name of my company. The one I am selling is the same design however we machine the housing (body) from solid stainless steel and use an industrial grade sealed bearing.
I congratulate you for this great video !!! I am going to make the same Speed Bag Swivel. The only question i have is if it is better to make it with 4 fixation holes or 2 for the flange bearing ? Thank you for sharing with us your splendid ideas !!
I considered the four bolt flange but selected the two bolt for simplicity (drill two holes instead of four) and cost. I have had no issue with the strength of the two bolt version. These are industrial grade bearings rated for several hundred pounds.
It may look better but if I recall (and it has been awhile) the four hole flanges resulted in a longer swivel that the two hole flanges. Which model flanges did you get?
Hello, I tried to purchase one off ebay but it stated you don't ship to Toronto, Ontario Canada. Can you make an exception, I'd consider buying two if I can combine shipping. Please let me know. Thanks.
Jason, Head to www.sbs.lmf-llc.com and send me an email using "contact" with your Paypal email and mailing address and I will get it taken care of, thanks.
Hi Brett - we are sending your speed bag swivel to my boss, and wondering if we can email you a FedEx label so you could overnight it...I don't see an express shipping option via Amazon. Please let me know, and we can communicate via email or something. Thank you so much! Kindest regards, caroline
No problem. Glad to do it. I will refund the shipping that is normally charged on Amazon. Let me know in your email who to look for in the Amazon order.

Good deal, let me know if he has questions, good luck!
Will do. Thanks again
Thank you! Brilliant Set up and good skills on ur bag!!!
Creative design 👍👍 and simple

+RazorCAtt17 I did everything possible to make the entire swivel as short as possible. I too could not find 3/16" at any hardware store.
Just bought one. Can’t wait!
On the way. I think you will like it! Thanks.
How do you like the swivel? Thinking about getting one.
Nice, those swivels are fast to start out with and you just made them faster, I bet people will ask you to make one for them...ralph

I'm "stealing" this idea also
no problem, glad you like it, thanks for watching!

Hot roll is just mild tempered round steel bar. You can find it with the steel angle iron, sheet metal etc. at home depot.
Outstanding idea. made 2 already and l love em. thanks for the great demo
I love the great idea. Can you make one for me and I'll pay?
I don't have all the tools to make the holes in metal.
Super! I thank you for your time.
I'm saving this video and making one. Just need the grinder tool and maybe a drill bit after getting the swivel parts to copy your design
I'm in the process to make one and is getting good, thanks for the big idea bretthl1
I’m buying one. Thanks bro!
Good deal I think you will like it.
How's yours holding up? I Just bought one and can't wait to use it

Thanks. Check out the link further down in the video description. I now sell a more fit for purpose version on ebay that I manufacture myself.
Very Nice!
Very good
Great idea... I'm not crazy about my everlast swivel either...
I'd be willing to pay for one also. :)

B&Q, I had to google that. The UK Home Depot. Yes of course you can.
Great idea and vid but just wondering (for how it will fit in existing platform) - what is the distance between carriage bolt holes on the flange? Thanks

bretthl1 Put it up a couple of weeks ago - it's marvelous. Now I just have to convince you to come over and build me one of those sweet platforms ;)
Sweet! Thanks for letting me know and good luck.
This is a great swivel. But how should I oil it? White lithium grease? WD40? Take it apart and put it back together? It is squeaking loud and losing a bit of speed. Still better that other swivels. Thanks!
Put a dab of grease on the shackle pin. No lube required on the sealed bearing.
Are you by chance selling these? I interested in buying one, not looking for the pieces to make one

'Work harder. My hands are already fast---I like to combine the
Speed with power. However, I do have the better model, for when

WHERE CAN I GET THIS FLANGE BEARING NOW ? NOT HAVING MUCH LUCK WITH 1/2 ID. BORE. . CAN U PLEASE HELP ME OUT ? THANKS
try McMaster Carr.

any issues with the screw (that holds the shackle) coming loose with repeated use? I was wondering if I might be ahead of myself to just put some loctite on it.
It happens but a spot of lube prevents that.
