I have lost my hesitation on watching these shows, after seeing all the shows I could from 1950-1967. Watching Jim Henson is a first! He passed away early.
Brilliant entertainment! the one thing I like about the syndicated version over the classic version is that they get to chit-chat to the guests. How frustrated I had been watching the old ones with fascinating guests who are pushed off so soon without any demonstration of what they do or who they are. Cavet and Cassidy- LMHO I'm an original Sesame Street kid from the premier in 1969. Good to see Kermit and Henson again.
Soupy had also worked with The Muppets on a kids musical/fantasy tv special:"The Pied Piper Of Astroworld"which was seen on The ABC TV Network on saturday morning December 28,1968.
I was crying when watching this segment. The song is so poignant. But the message is well expressed. Learning to be satisfied with oneself can be a hard thing in life for some people...and yet a point of growth for many...
Jack Cassidy- Are you the mother of my first child? Actress Evelyn Ward was David Cassidy's mother, but at the time of the show Shirly Jones was David's TV Mom, Shirly Jones (Shirley Partridge). Wonder which one he had in mind.
+Frank Logan Introduced by producer Gil Fates due to Soupy Sales' annoying knack of recognizing voices and nailing the mystery guests, "Fates' Law" says that any panelist who makes in incorrect guess of the guest's identity is out for the round.
Admittedly there were a few times in WML's B/W history where the panelists would guess who the MGs were with incredible speed - but that didn't happen as often as it did in color syndication...
@@ABCEasyas-- ...not only would I both highly and readily agree, but I would also venture to say that it was quite worth it in this case, as the song itself has always been painfully beautiful to listen to (in my humble opinion, at least)...
The Jim Henson segment was so staged. There is no way that they could have gotten to that conclusion. and Soupy suggested the song, and it was already cued up. Phoney!

Gil Fates was a producer of What's My Line and developed Mystery Guest portion of the show
I remember seeing this at age 3! And how excited I was to see Kermit outside of Sesame Street for the first time!
I also remember seeing this is a 3year old. I was (and still am) a huge Kermit fan. It is amazing what sticks with one since childhood!😀
Sometimes that is the best part of life to remember...childhood...
The theme song is like transcending to another reality.

Larry was good as host. Yes the show was not as good as it was pre 1966. Loss of Kilgallen was felt imo. Even with John after that it’s lost a lot.
