No one here is going to forget how hard Kasey Keller tried to defend the indefensible.
He wasn’t defending Berhalter. He was simply stating that it probably wasn’t realistic to suddenly replace him. The federation needs to shoot for the stars. Get the guy they want. Not the one they can pay the least.
What are you on about?
That's ironic, because so many of you have and still are defending or excusing the pathetic play of the players
The feeble defense he gave was pathetic

Kasey saying a lot of nothing here. Props to Herc for the consistency though.

Kasey Keller gonna cry himself to sleep now that his boy was fired.
Glad Herc and Ale kept it real and honest.
Seb too.
Kasey was telling you what you don’t want to hear, Berhalter is better than the alternatives that the US soccer federation is willing to hire. And when they hire some no name manager maybe you’ll see it then.
@@nicolasthecaged4940 Better how? He is awful tactically, doesn't put his players in positions to succeed, and gets less out of the team that he should. Team played much better when he was gone. He never beat a team in Europe, or S America, other than minnows, and lost to T&T with a world cup berth on the line.
Did you see how they played against Panama, down a man? That alone deserved to lose his job.

Yes I would pay for that extra feature
I was hating on Tim Weah last week now but I gotta give him thanks because if the US made it into the elimination round and lost 1-0, Berhalter is still the coach and nothing would have changed.
I know, that's literally what I said in the comments under that video lol. If we went into the next World Cup with him, our little "golden generation" would've gone to waste.
Weah was playing 3D chess and we all didn’t realize we were three steps behind

Kasey Keller-You look really bad after all your staunch defending of Berhalter. You come out of this looking really bad and backwards in your thinking.
Why?
As media persona, all feelings should be set aside when giving no biased opinions. He shouldn't be biased either way.
I'm a Messi fan, so I've started to watch US commentators. This Kasey guy is not encouraging me to care about American football. I preferred it without him. He sounds like the guys who are holding US football back 🙅🏻♀️

@@jcg9998was thinking the same thing. Champion, champion, runner up, round of 16,…
Yep, we suck! 😂
Don’t get me wrong, I don’t think Berhalter was amazing, but the results in tournaments don’t lie. People can argue results against top 20 don’t lie either and, partially fair but also partially, he inherited a rebuild. We’re a decent team needing more cohesion and competitiveness.
If the next coach doesn’t get us to the round of 8, he’ll be labeled a failure, too.
@@michaelspadaccini1415Everyone likes to spin their own narrative. You are just leaving out the most embarrassing parts: came 3rd in World Cup qualifying, his obsession with getting weak mls players exposure during the WC, Mexico is probably the worst Mexico team in decades (who is our main competition), Berhalter being completely lost when a game doesn’t have the US as heavy favorites or adapting when a game isn’t going well and getting grouped in Copa America at HOME. On paper he was absolutely not qualified from a few years in the MLS and getting fired from the Swedish second division team. People don’t expect us to make the quarter finals but try to be competitive with in a round of 16 game and we have had zero “great” wins under him that less talented teams have pulled off like beating Spain in 2009. Glad he is gone, he wasn’t 100% of the problem but the manager is one thing that can be changed easily.
“Time will tell.” Lol what a fool. 5+ years of subpar results has already told. USMNT hasn’t beaten one decent team under Berhalter.
Matt Crocker keeping Berhalter after the previous World Cup was malpractice, that dude needs to go too. The last two years have been a waste.

@@dc8536 lol that’s what I was kind of saying or meaning… like no way the next coach is worse..
And what if we don't hire a guy you like? Are you going to be perpetually angry until your perfect coach is chosen?
@@chuckchuck8643 It could happen; you never know.
Usa have enough resources to hire someone better
We need a coach outside the United States
You want a guy to agree with everyone else on the panel? LOL. Wow, that would make for some interesting viewing.
They can’t 😂 the “woke” USA has a equal pay rule and currently the women’s coach is making 2mil and good manager will not be taking this nonsense job for 2 mil which then means that they will have to raise the women’s managers pay. So tell me what resources they currently have because like it or not they will not pay a women managers salary the same as some of these big names being thrown around.
We had the chance with Jesse Marsch and our wonderful USSF passed on him for Berhalter 2.0 and Marsch helped turn around a Canadian team that was an absolute dumpster fire at the world Cup.
We do, but let’s be honest: we’ll end up hiring nothing MLS manager who is somehow worse.
The drama may not be his fault, but the lack of creativity in their style of play and inability to use the bench are squarely on his shoulders. They don’t have a lot of confidence in him to learn from his mistakes and make the changes necessary to get them to at least the quarters.
But some of the drama is his fault
Yup @@Mr.Thomas_Anderson
People keep talking about creativity but yet this group couldn't routinely bury the open chances they got, but yet this supposed to be a "golden generation"? And, this idea that red cards are somehow the fault of the manager might be the dumbest scapegoat, narrative I've ever seen made in team sports
@@ronniethomas8780he tried to be the player's friend, there was no discipline, and Weah completely lost his cool and cost us the game against Panama. The team made no progress under him, should have never been rehired.

Jurgen may take it if he is offered. He said he would be interested perhaps in being a national coach. Gotta ask him and make a good offer.
Should have never been hired. 😂
Herd said, “first off, you never want to see someone lose their job.” I’d challenge that by taking it a step further and say that no one wants to see someone so undeserving get a job they aren’t qualified for stay way past their welcome. Berhalter showed that it was more about him than the team. If he cared about the program, he would’ve stayed gone instead of cashing in that favor from his brother. How about we talk about how in the U.S academies are literally for the rich and they don’t care about talent. I would’ve never switched to American football, I played Futbol and was my very first sport. I played for ironbound FC & played for indoor clubs when I was freshmen im Highschool. I loved it but the fees they put on you and the burden on the families that can’t afford to fork over thousands of dollars is ridiculous. No country in the would does that, not South America not Europe but the U.S does? And then they wonder why the talent pool is such a joke for the population the U.S has
Exactly. This is why changing coach still won't solve US soccer problems.
@@marktheshark7588 for context I am in NJ, academies in the main states such as NY, Cali, Florida have fees more than double than what I have seen. The traveling fees that covered the jerseys, equipment, hotels/food was $1885. And that was for 1 summer, it’s ridiculous
I love how everyone (including the graphic) forgets US lost in the Gold Cup semis to Panama last year. That game confirmed to me that GGG should not have been rehired.

Big facts. 20 million a year and full control.

None of the two need money, and when have you seen Ancelotti manage what to him would be a squad with limited talent? Nobody ever asks or talks about who actually picks the players for the US national team. This is why I think that the Klinsmann fiasco broke the national team permanently, we'll never have an actual national team coach again, we'll have a front-man who pretends to be making the decisions but is really just doing what the agents of the players and the sponsors of the players tell him to do. And I haven't seen anyone talking about this because US soccer fans are fairly clueless.

We need a USMNT making a good showing at the world cuo on home soil. Fork out the cash for a top european coach.
thats it! a guy. whos won. in europe sole criterion.
Not many Europeans will take the job.
Why would a top European coach want the job? The money is not close to what any of them can get in the club game. Klopp is coming off making $20 million per. Tuchel was making $10 million. Simone Inzaghi was just offer 20 million euros to go to Al Ittihad. Sorry, US Soccer doesn't rate financially or in terms of prestige to pull in any of these guys.

I think part of the problem with the perception of Berhalters success has been the decline in Mexico. We beat them multiple times in a row, thinking we are great, when we haven't really improved much, especially considering the amount of talent we currently have.
Keller looks depressed that Berhalter was fired lol
It is NOT unfair that the American Supporters want the absolute best possible coach available. We have the best soccer players that have ever put on the US Jersey from a technical level, we need a coach that will inspire and motivate them to exceed expectations. The way the US played against Panama, down a man, should have fired him after the game. I've never seen team completely fall apart down a man, especially to a weak opponent.

Berhalter did a great job rebuilding USMNT. He took over program at its lowest ever point, and we looked poised to make that jump to the next level after Qatar. The Copa America was the litmus test to see how far the team progressed. But Berhalter's failures started before the tournament. Laboring to wins against inferior opposition and not playing strongly against some of the world's best showed they regressed under this coach.
The USMNT has never done well with a coach given a run for a second World Cup cycle. There were certainly better options out there after the 2022 World Cup.

Some fans are just going to be miserable regardless - especially when it isn't a guy like Klopp. Do then its fire GGG and then keep complaining about the next guy. Its why at some point the Fed has to jist conduct business.
The problem to me though IS thr USSF, and it always was more on it than GGG. This WHOLE THING is on the ineptness and laziness of the USSF. They rubber stamped GGG after the Iran game. They then WASTED 2 years in a hosting cycle with a known quantity... and did so after repeated histories of 2 term failures (Arena, Bradley, Klinsmann...) Oh - and their "search" last year wasn't a search. It was time wasting for the issues to die down.
