  • Disclaimer: I AM NOT A BODY MAN. This was our first time doing a roof chop, and I’m thrilled with the results! Are my welds perfect & my panels/gaps professional? Absolutely not. But we had fun together, learned, and now have a more respectable rat rod truck. As the father/son Minnesota team in the ‪@RatRodMagazine‬ build-off competition, we hope to get this project finished in time for Ratstock in September.
Thanks for following along on our process and hopefully it’s entertaining. We want to inspire others to get out there and build stuff together themselves. To try new things. To keep at it till you’re proud of it and can hold your head high. This is functional art and is by definition subjective. So what if you’d do it differently, you can certainly tell us in the comments section below. It’s truly appreciated BUT Philip doesn’t see the comments. You can interact with him on Instagram @flannel_philip
We were inspired by ‪@VillageCustoms‬ and ‪@greasyboykustoms‬ so huge thank you to those boys. We tried to replicate their process. Definitely reach out to them with your questions because they have MUCH more experience with this than we do.
