Oooooh! I have an idea!! It would be amazing to slice a 3D sculpture into planes with this wire art technique, then hang them so that they form the original 3D sculpture! That could yield museum grade artwork!
You should try smoothing a sculpture made by a 3D pen. And to not be redundant in using the 3D pen you should make something really colorful, at least more colorful than most of 3D printers with dual extruder can do.
I think the reason the filament worked so well is because the texture of the filament matches the texture of the wall. Also they are very close in tone because neither is too bright nor too dark, this makes me want a 3d pen
Holy Moly!! These are amazing, truly amazing.i have no idea how you even came up with the idea, you sir are a genius...I love it and I hope Mrs McBeardface does as I am going to give this a go 👍👍 thank you
That is sooo great! It is very much in the style I use when doodling on paper. I just ordered a 3D pen based primarily on this video. Thank you for this and for all the many other great ideas that you share.
@@make.anything Wow! Now having tried doing this I see that it will take lots of practice and I suppose fiddling around with temp & speed. My lines are not nearly as smooth as yours and I have plenty of strings and globs to cut off.
The color of the filament makes it look like it was drawn on the wall with a pencil. If that even makes sense. I love it and it makes me want to do something similar to this.
Cool art deco. I wonder if you made any of these into 3D printable files and as large traditionally printed art pieces? These would make nice additions to my art collection. How about trying to make a fractal with your funky filaments with your 3D pens, resin and filament 3D printers. But you know what would be cooler still? Life size versions of famous sci-fi creatures made from 3D pen printed parts.
Wooow, that's really a creative piece, I would never thought that makeing that kind of flat shapes would be stirty enough to stay in one piece. Great job! I would love to try it sometime. I'm studying hard I don't have enough time.
Hey, Devin! I have an interesting idea for you. It'll hopefully just be quick, and based on some of your prior projects. In one of your previous videos, i think you mentioned you had the Pallete, a machine that can fuse up to four filaments together. I thought that you should fuse some of your more interesting or more dazzling filaments together, and then use them to form an interestingly-shaped Springo! Yes, it is a bit of an old concept, the Springo, but i feel it would be perfect for showing off the amazing qualities of your own fused material. I would really love it if you did this, as although i feel i wish i could have as many 3d printing-based materials and machines as you do, i'm not exactly able to, being so young. So please, appease the dreams of a young fan.
I must say Devin that you have really done such a good job with your channel, I really look forward to watching any video you put up. It's only been about, well not even two weeks since I got my 3-D pen and I really appreciate all the tips and just watching you create stuff is awe inspiring, I still don't know how you get the lines so perfect and straight, I am praying this comes with practice, or I'm in trouble. Ha ha. Let me fit in one question: have you ever made a pinwheel?
Awesome video ! Thanks for including the pen to paper clips too. The sketching process is so satisfying to watch lol. Great upload, keep up the amazing work!
Nice modern art Devon! Would be cool to use a translucent filament and pen directly onto a light pane? Also, did anyone else think, "If those were nudged they could probs break"?
Cool. Although 2D, the shadows give it some depth. I'm wondering how this would stand up over time in areas with no air-conditioning. (Of course, if your house got to the annealing temperature of PLA, I think you've got bigger troubles. But anyway...) Any suggestions on how to reinforce and support the piece? One idea is to make multiple mounting points that match the color of the wall. But how to adhere them to the piece and still make everything removal later is beyond me at the moment.
I want to buy a 3d printer and a 3d pen, what do you recommend that won't break the bank but still be good !!! I like art so I want to 3d print sculptures and draw characters with the 3d pen. What do you recommend ???
A friend of mine saw the video and said: "It would be really interesting to hang those pieces half an inch away from the wall, just to get the shadows going." I agree! Just an idea... 🙂

Sean Lumly I love this idea
This could be super cool, for sure!
I've seen artwork like that before. Here in Melb, Aust. I don't remember the artist though. It does look good.
Kieran Short , it was Devin.I am sure of it ☺
Looks kinda like a hanging henna tattoo, and has a zentangle vibe which I'm totally digging!
Fantastic work :D

"I try to just become a 3d printer basically" - Devin 2018
that 3d print looks like it's made of clay. really nice
it looked like chocolate frostings for me
Incredibly cool. I like how you make something actually pretty with a pen that most people just make plastic turds with.
Is the same way a pencil can draw something beautiful, or be used for filling a study book with "Cool S" or dicks. Often both.
If there were an interior design show, where designers from other feilds compete to design a space, I think you could kick some serious butt!
Nice man! I had no idea about using silicon mats with a 3DP pen. I’ve got a bunch and definitely do not use them enough
Uncle Jessy hey, you’re a person that I’ve seen before!
I think the reason the filament worked so well is because the texture of the filament matches the texture of the wall. Also they are very close in tone because neither is too bright nor too dark, this makes me want a 3d pen

You are easily one of the best 3d print inspirations if not THE best on youtube.
Thanks Ian!
The second one close up looked quite like it was made with stiffened yarn or wool thread. I really like this. :)
I love 3D pen creations!
The circles give it a tech/sci-fi /circuit look.
That is sooo great! It is very much in the style I use when doodling on paper. I just ordered a 3D pen based primarily on this video. Thank you for this and for all the many other great ideas that you share.
Great, have fun!

The 2nd piece is a 👌 masterpice, it looks steampunk, and i love it!
I liked the idea and your comments while doing it.
Words are not enough for your art. This video is best of the bests. 👌👌👌👌
The color of the filament makes it look like it was drawn on the wall with a pencil. If that even makes sense. I love it and it makes me want to do something similar to this.
It would be awesome to see a world map. With various locations popping out at you, as you walk by.
Wow!!!! You are so creative! Love both pieces
damn. this makes me want to buy a 3D pen..
You are full of great ideas for 3D pen creations. Nice.
You should do something like this for a lamp shade. maybe sandwich your design with parchment paper so the light would cast shadow of your design.

They look amazing! The things that come out of your brain completely baffles me sometimes.
i sneak peeked at the end result and god damn this is incredible!

Flip to the back and add “risers”
Where hung there will be the benefit of shadows
Wow, looks amazing! Great job
More 3d pen pixels please :D Nice vid!
these are so good. my 3d pen arrived today. cannot wait to try making something like this
These are absolutely beautiful, Devin! They remind me of the gorgeous old architect blueprints for some reason. Very inspiring, thank you for sharing!
You often remind us how creative you are. Those are beautiful.
If I could I'd be spamming this with likes. The idea is so cool and unique. I just don't have proper words to describe it!
Wooow, that's really a creative piece, I would never thought that makeing that kind of flat shapes would be stirty enough to stay in one piece. Great job! I would love to try it sometime. I'm studying hard I don't have enough time.
its like tribed art but with new tech, i love it. For better circle you can use gigantic 3d printed compass :)
this piece looks like it was made in concrete. Nice
What would have also looked cool was if you cut coloured card and placed it on some of the less detailed areas

I may be revisiting Springos, so I'll keep this idea in mind :)
You could put those pieces into an art exhibit! They’re beautiful!

Let me fit in one question: have you ever made a pinwheel?
I like your doodle/sketching style👍
You make me wanna buy a 3d pen now but i don't really have the imagination to make something as cool as this
That's awesome, you got talent! Kinda makes me want to buy a 3d pen...
Absolutely incredible!
love your 3d pen videos!!!!
Awesome video ! Thanks for including the pen to paper clips too. The sketching process is so satisfying to watch lol. Great upload, keep up the amazing work!
I could never have enough patience to do something like that.
Awesome , could be cool For Windows too. Makes nice shadows
Fantastic! Gives me so many ideas 💡 thanks
I love these! Super cool!!
That’s amazing!!! You really show you can Make anything!
Brilliant, creative idea, executed masterfully as always. Fantastic!
That looks really cool!
I have a 3dpen and I let my little sister use it alot and I just use all the little extras of filament and cut her pieces off my spools.
Very cool - it reminds me of the aesthetic in the video game "Transistor"
First you became a Bop It, now a 3D printer, next, a mass destruction machine.
Very Decopunk! I dig it!
Very nice! Good job!
Reminds me of Peter Draws
Love the textures
How about adding panels of coloured gel film to the wall art?
Great video. Thanks for the inspiration.
That 2nd one would be a dope tattoo
Trying the flexy filaments to make a design on a t-shirt will be cool
The first one looks like a cool bird
Wow! I love your work....it pretty great 👍
I want to know more of 3d art work
What is the name of the paper you use to draw your art work?
that part where you drew tons of sketches but ended up selecting the initial ones.. that's me lol
Would make a nice Ceiling Mobile too.
Nice modern art Devon! Would be cool to use a translucent filament and pen directly onto a light pane? Also, did anyone else think, "If those were nudged they could probs break"?
This is very cool!! good job :)
You’re really inspiring,
Thank you
Okay, that's impressive as heck...
Could you use a black sharpie on a white wall instead? You are very creative!!!
the art reminds me of thor ragnarok for some reason
I am definitely doing this with glow in the dark filament ... cause that’s all I have
That could be very awesome, I might do the same ;)
Make Anything turns out it’s really hard to see what I am doing because it’s the same colour as my tape protecting the table
unlucky...
Pure awesomeness!!!!
Inspired, time to create!
Wow you just are very creative.
Do more drawing techniques like this one

What do you recommend ???
Well, damn.
You are an ideas machine, Devin.
You are an amazingly talented man. You remind me of Leonardo da Vinci.
Oh my god, these are goegeous...like Art Deco Death Star plans.
A friend of mine saw the video and said: "It would be really interesting to hang those pieces half an inch away from the wall, just to get the shadows going." I agree! Just an idea... 🙂
I LOVE THIS! Just the kind of project I need right now...
Great looking piece! Wow you're a great artist!
The large one looks like something you’d see on meet the Robinson’s
You could sell these for a lot of money
Jacob Labovitz , Devin just increased value of the house. ☺
Michael S no he decreased it
1000 subs with no videos pls Lolwut
Those are so cool!
I like you're designs
Make one that’s fricking glow in the dark!!
It looks like a science-fiction map for space-traveling
This reminds me of Peter Draws
Now you're up to something...I was thinking the same. lol
!!Me gustó la idea!!
I like this project, nice job.
For the next step can you add layers to make things pop from different angles?
Yesss the 3D pen video's are back
I liked the last on on the first row that was cool....they all were though lol
It's like a human 3D printer.
