I'm Armenian and Greek this is a staple in our diet. The thickness depends on the amount of water added to mix. The protein value is excellent in chick peas. We also put cumin on our hummus. We serve it with a side of scallions,tomatoes and parsley. I love crunchy pita. So happy to see you get to eat this.

Tahini made out of Sesame paste and humus in it aswell, and as for the humus, at the middle east we also dip it with raw onion or spicy pepper, it goes well with it, you should try:)
