Played Blackwings since release, up until I stopped playing in 2014 or so. All time favorite deck. This video is a wealth of information for anyone interested in playing Edison Blackwings!
Will be trying to do these for all the mainstays in the format! Blackwing was the easiest one cuz the "standard" list doesn't Deviate too much, so I started with it. we'll have to see how it goes with decks that have more variables
@@E3YuGiOh awesome! Right now X-sabers are the deck that I’m most interested in learning about, but I think they can wait until the popular decks like quickdraw and diva hero are covered.
I've noticed that blackwing has a high floor (easy to play to a decent level) but actually has a lot of nuance to it at higher level play. It's definitely not helmet by any means!
I really liked the vid. These in depth guides are a rly nice thing for people actually understanding the deck I think. Often the big problem of people isn't that they are bad players but just that they don't understand the way a deck plays and these videos can help a lot with it! Also it does not really have to do with the video and I don't think it will come up in any meta relevant way but there is a 2 card combo that discards 1 card from your opponents hand while featherdusting your opponent with Release restraint wave + Smoke grenade of the thief, it could probs make for a fun video if you should ever be starved for content making a deck with it.
ed edd and edison is a prescribed supplement to therapy and psychiatric help, but not a replacement. Ask your doctor if ed edd and edison is right for you
Liked and comment before even watching because know this vid gonna be fire. def think blackwing has some space for cool tech options like fossil dynas in the main
I saw this list and made it my own to make it more aggressive putting book to the side for 3 dark eruptions and 1 Icarus to the side for against the wind since I don't have a dustshoot and 1 oppression I play burial to bring back my dark monsters and I'm debating on playing return from the different dimension thinking about switching my side I also play 1 cyber dragon and side the other 1 I have fiendish chain in my side just giving my. But solid deck explanation
So, I came across an interesting Edison legal card called Dark Nepthys that I would love to hear your opinion on. Besides having some sick artwork, I think that it has some potential in a dark focused deck. Sure it is a slower Machina Fortress, but it’s spell/trap removal and self revive make it a +1 that is super easy to access. In case you don’t know it, this is what it does. It’s a lvl 7 2400atk monster with the effect to banish 2 darks from your GY, then it discards itself from your hand. Then during your next standby phase, it revives itself and pops a spell/trap. I know it’s overshadowed by DAD from the same set, but it could be a good tech choice.
Hey, I can speak from experience here-- I played dark nephytys in this format in place of DAD (because I didn't own DAD.) I also ran The Dark Creator, which... conflicted with it a bit, but also combo'd a lot. I wasn't running any maindeck floodgates (didn't own oppression lmao, skill drain and macro cosmos in side deck though) and it was decently consistent-- made lots of advantageous value, and it works with icarus attack. I would definitely recommend *against* playing it, though, for essentially the same reasons as E3 mentioned. as you acknowledged, oppression ruins the fun...
I know this comment is unrelated to this video but, I have been trying to make Frost and Flame Dragon work in edison and it has not been good. It could be fun for you guys to make a video of a janky frost and flame dragon deck! Just an idea!
My friend use to always play blackwings. He was constantly accused of stacking his deck since literally every game he starts with the 1800, then specials the 1700 and gale. I could use a bit more of their game plan and how the games play out and what each card is for. I like gathering a ton of info before I play decks. So I would like to hear why lightsworn and faries are bad match ups
Some number of Dark Eruption in the main or side I think is correct. Get back Kalut, Gale, Blizzard, and D.D. Crow. It was absolutely necessary against Infernity, but I still think it's good in Edison
Honestly i don't even mind pachy too much vs glads or in the mirror, obviously it isn't good, but a lot of times you can still get a 1 for 1 with some annoying special summoned monster via the flip effect like removing a laquari, armor master, goyo or something in mid/lategame
Incredible video Keegan. Hope to see more of these for the other top decks in the format in the future!
Really appreciate the kind words Based User Daniel Fox!
Blackwing is by far the best deck and this video is also the best

Love the deck myself! Glad you enjoyed the vid
Same here 🎉🎉🎉
Sending this video to my opponents from now on instead of asking if damage step Kalut is fine
LMFAO based
Great video. Lots of good information. Im a veteran player and still enjoyed watching this. Please keep em coming for other decks!
Glad it was helpful! Tried to include a little something for everyone in here
Thank you so much !
Glads next!
Glads soon!
@@E3YuGiOh better be more prisma gladiators 😂
Now THIS is some delicious fucking content!
Hope to see Quickdraw Dandy covered as well soon :D
Working on that one!
Yus! This is my jam!!!

Love the idea of a primer series of videos for the decks in Edison!

Great video. I always wondered if i can synchro using vayu summoned by shura since shura negates effect.
you can synchro with a vayu that was negated by shura!
Love the guide! Hate dark bribe
LMFAO
I don’t care if it’s a helmet deck, I love blackwing to bits. Thanks for the great guide!

@@E3YuGiOh wouldnt that mean it has a low floor? high floor would mean its hard to play with in the beginning
The microdestions makes it hard to play but once you know your combos, the deck has a high ceaking
More of this please!!!!
Gonna do one for all the major decks in edison!
love this type of content alot. Long time viewer, first time commenter. Not enough of this material out there for edison.
Thanks for the comment Brent Bailey! Will definitely be doing this for at least a couple more mainstay decks in the format, if not all of them
Great video! Hope to see more like these soon, maybe covering Hero Beat or Diva Hero next
Will definitely be doing diva hero soon

Hell yea that sounds sick. Definitely gonna try to brew that up
Yay! BLACK WINGS :D!

What do you think of Sirocco as a side deck choice against blackwings?
Love it! Great choice

It's alright. It's a little slow and conflicts with oppression
@@E3YuGiOh man oppression always ruins the fun, doesn't it.

Vid coming eventually
Great vid ma dude, can u do fish deck pls long time no upload
I'll add it to the backlog! I've got a lot to go through still but I'll get to it eventually
Blackwings in Edison format are like ROB in smash bros ultimate. I will not elaborate

Dark eruption is something we haven't seen a lot of but it'd be interesting to see in a build with sangan!
To be honest I'd side giant trunade for blackwing mirrors or against gladiators
If you're not already maining it then maybe it's a decent inclusion! I just don't love how it doesnt permanently answer whirlwind.
How come you don't plat giant trunade or cold wave?
I do in later versions of the deck! They're both played at disadvantage, but they're not bad depending on your configuration
No 🧢
On codarus
Good video
In my local this deck is overused, how can I beat this?
bottomless trap hole
Great video, but I have to correct you lol I played 2 Swallow Flip in my side not 2 Bottomless
Mustve had the wrong list! Thanks for the correction
Magic cylinder vs a pumped sirocco = GG
no helmet, no cap.

That was my deck during 2014 lol

The only downside of blackwing is that you can't play Gorz. This is pitty

Yea i could see it having some application in specifically situations where your opponent has resolved special summoned monsters vs you
