Thanks so much for watching! Did you ever watch Fear Factor in the early 2000's? Or even reruns of it years later? Let me know your thoughts on this show and how you felt about it in general!
I used to watch it on the air as a kid (we were a Survivor family and this filled the not Thursday night void) then re-watched it a bit in college with my roommates. My favorite bit of trivia is Joe’s admitted (multiple times) that he was high on edibles during the majority of filming after season one😂 he never had hope for the show but was always happy to get that check. He also broke up a fight once. Cause… ya know… UFC. PS. Been a huge fan since Fringemas and I have to say I really respect the work that goes into all of these “holiday specials”
The only thing notable i remember about fear factor had nothin to do with it xD I just remember a school event some time, i think as part of a pep rally idek, where they had students volunteer to participate in a few fear factor challenges; which were honestly the least fearsome things imaginable xD I think we had to put our hand in a box with crickets jumpin around and i know the two eatin challenges for it literally just several cold sardines and a bowl of mediocre menudo xD Hilariously that menudo still was enuf to turn the stomachs of two of us who didnt even wanna give it a taste bcuz they were so grossed out by what was a meal i finished and then wondered if i cud get some more of it xD
I had a very bad injury in 2004, and during my physical therapy sessions they'd always have Fear Factor on the TV. I loved it so much. Take a couple painkillers, do some slow walking on the treadmill or slow stationary bike riding, all while taking in the wonderful sights and sounds of Fear Factor. What a great time.
I watched "Fear Factor" as a kid, my dad explained to me how mind over matter works by cracking an egg and dropping the white and yolk into his beer and drinking it. This changed my thinking about what I can and can't do. I still loved the show and wondered how I'd do being a part of it. Then I grew up and my interests changed, I moved on to other shows. This still was one of my all-time favourite reality TV, contest shows though.
Fear Factor was one of the few reality shows I ever got into as a kid. I'd watch it all the time with my grandparents, so even just thinking about it brings back a ton of great memories and feelings.
I'll never forget the episode of the dude who had to eat a bowl of Maggots & Cheese. The host was counting down and as he said go, dude straight up chucked the whole bowl at the wall and said that everyone is insane lol
i adored this show as a kid (but did worry for the contestants at times) and i remember my mom saying to me “i’d do absolutely anything for you kid, and if someone said i had to go in fear factor to save your lives i’d do it in the blink of an eye. but you know your mother, she can’t do bugs. so whether or not i’d win, is the real question” and bruv i never felt her more 🤣
Fun Fact: A band I worked for (Madina Lake) had two members appear on the show. Their name at the time was The Blank Theory and Joe wanted them to sign something. They said if they make it to round 2 they will. They did and Joe made them sing, and you can tell the guys were like “shit, we gotta do this for real” 😂
Wildboyz did that on TV with Steve-O and Pontius. Then again, that was in the 00s when we didn't care quite as much. Makes me wonder though if gender has something to do with the decision to let one air and another not.
My grandma used this show to get me to get off my GameCube back in the day. To this day she still tells me she has no clue how they got away with some of the stuff they used to do on this show😂
Fear Factor was so crazy growing up, I found out it's on Tubi so I might give it a watch one of these days The one thing that always gets me is that one of their "High Intensity" music cues straight up sounds like Gulp's Overlook from Spyro 2, Spyro 2 is one of my favorite games ever so it definitely gets my attention.
@@robinkholmes7127Absolutely! Every now and then I will remember that "The Swan" was a real program broadcast nationwide, and I'll sink into despair for humanity. "Moment of Truth" should have had a cop on standby offstage, ready to arrest some of those contestants.
That show came out around the time where Cartoon Network was seeing a pretty steep decline in quality but also when I was old enough to start not watching as often. I vaguely remember seeing advertisements for the show and it wasn't until your comment that I realized Andrew W.K. was the one hosting lol. I guess I just didn't recognize him outside the context of his concerts
My favorite Fear Factor Fact is when they hosted a series for twins to compete, the winning Leone brothers used the money to fund their band Madina Lake!
Sucks this show failed in its revival but so glad we still got it and some international versions One of a kind show Edit: 40 versions?! Shit, that's awesome!!!
Bruh I'm so glad this show might get brought back, the producer Matt Kunitz was involved with Deal or No Deal Island which had major success. So they may be bringing back Fear Factor in an dateline article I read as well.
i enjoyed Fear Factor, but i agree, they went too far and they was caught trying to make something finite infinite, like Hollywood and Jumpscares, that is fun for a while, but overtime it begins to piss you off rather than entertain. Total Drama would become the parody to showcase the madness and i believe it helped us get over the whole Reality Show craze.
Total drama became more or less parody of survivor well till they went hollywood and travel the world twice. But there is element of fear factor in there as well with some challenges. Though eventually it did lost lot of steam and now we are with a another revival and a show everyone wish to pretend it didn’t happen
One genre of TV that I could never really get into. Watched a couple series here & there but never got into the whole thing of reality TV, which is pretty weird considering I grew up when 1st Cops & then The Real World came out on Network TV/Cable.
The thing I remember the most about Fear Factor is when they get them to eat roach juice. I don’t know why that’s a thing that stuck with me from the show
I remember loving this show to the point where me and my friend had a fear factor themed birthday party completely ignoring the warnings of the show 😂😂😂😂
I hated the water tanks!!! When they had to go down like 3 levels to get the flag or the key on the bottom, i dont remember but that one always freaked me out 😂

Fear Factor was one of those shows that fascinated me and it made me intrigued if the FCC would get involved at some point considering it aired on network television. The revivals could never touch the original running on NBC.

The most unhinged part of Fear Factor is Joe Rogan attempting to keep his hair
