this is the first production model of the chrysler air raid siren so this is how they designed it,later in the 50s they improved and simplified the design
@@fish_sticks_the_cat not sure. It's at a barn somewhere. If you look up Chrysler Air Raid Siren on RUclips, you will find a 2nd Gen Chrysler sounding full blast. Well, that channel also owns the 1st gen Chrysler.
@Blue10AEMia it has a fluid coupling and a clutch, probably to ensure it dosent slip when the siren is running, otherwise if it slipped it would affect the sound the siren made.it probably needs adjusting, which is why it creeps
@Barricade360 yes the chrysler bell victory is currently being restored.the engine is finished and painted and will go back in the frame shortly.the siren will be painted army green
Judging from that engine it looks like a straight 6 a flathead the very quintessential braided butter engine foremost Chrysler and Dodge products from the 30s all the way up until the early 50s and they also made these engines four big heavy-duty forklift trucks like the Hyster company.
I want one of these but i live by a power plant so bad idea. I just saw the manufacturer plate , my grandpa worked there , bet he had his hands on this. There something missing , the horns i believe.
Thanks for this video. Have you ever seen the insides of the chopper of a non-replica Chrysler Air-raid Siren? If so, then how do they compare to this?
the chrysler engine deal has been negotiated....i'm pulling it out of the car in april and if the guy backs out of the deal,i'll contact you then...thanks for looking.
Sounds like a truck engine at lower revvs and sounds like an open exhaust 4 cylinder engine at high revvs (I am saying abouy the V8 not the siren) Lol the siren sounds like a wicked honda

All "thumbs down" are from his neighbors.
Great siren and the power of the V8 is unreal and it still works brilliant for the age of the engine from WW2 just absolutely amazing.

he's referring to the siren unit
So does it have a fluid coupling between the siren head and the engine? I noticed it "creeping" when the engine was idling.
i think it might just have a bad flex plate

Probably early variant
All parts missing

Wait I'm confused is this a replica or a real one.
In the description it says it's a replica.
The siren is the replica. The rest of it is WW2 vintage.
