This song was written by Sting as a tribute to Benjamin Linder killed by the contras in Sandinista Nicaragua in the 1980s. He came to Nicaragua to build a power plant in a remote village called Bocay.
This is superb. From so many perspectives. The music, the arrangement, the players, the beautiful voice of Stacey Kent and the genius staging and microphone placement. This is not a vocal performance with instrumental backing, but a wonderfully integrated work of art. I was looking for the other singers.....in a vocal booth? And to the shadowy figures behind the glass, love your work.
