It wouldn’t be an outback adventure without a rescue! The old fella had a bum steer of which way to get to his destination and unfortunately got stuck where he did. Thanks again for your help, the result could have been far different otherwise. The general public don’t realise how much of an important role our remote cattle property staff and communities play in keeping people safe when things go bad.
One the one hand it’s impressive he got that far. But his vehicle isn’t setup at all for that sort of off road work. Scary being so under prepared and fully reliant on others to be saved.
@@peterjones5181 I didn't do the best job filming this as we were into it. But in ol mates defence he was pretty prepared. He spent 3 days trying to dig himself out before notifying the police through his GPS gadget. He had enough food for a week and water not to mention there was plenty around anyway. It was on a gazetted road that in good conditions you can drive your Mazda 3 on it no worries. Just made one main mistake and that was get off the road and try to go through the scrub to avoid the puddle. He was very thankful and put on a bar tab for us all afternoon. Haha. So everyone won.
Well spotted mate. After the old snatch strap broke I did notice that and thought better not play around like that and then choked it around the tow bar.
