I really love this module, it helps me gain and boost my confidence in speaking English. The key how to starting good communication is to organize your thoughts, just slowly speak, and be confident.
I am used to speak English in public before. But when the pandemic started, My social and speaking skills went down. Now, my hobby is reading motivational books and self-development books. Thanks, Coach Jam for this. I've learned that it's okay to make mistakes as long as you are moving forward.
Watching a series/movie with English subtitles has helped me a lot in practising my English. Recently, I started listening to English podcasts that helped improve my listening skills and will continue to do so. Lastly, I will practice to speak in English with my siblings to be able to speak comfortably.
The best way that I see to enhance my English speaking skill was really to always attempt to use it everyday. Learn and apply, then gather more vocabulary words that I could use for daily conversation, then organize and apply.
Your message is clear: practice and persistence are the keys to gaining confidence in English, and everyone can improve with time and effort. The module serves as a reminder that with consistent effort and the right mindset, anyone can improve their English skills and open doors to opportunities in the virtual assistant field and beyond.
After i watch this module, it gives me confidence when i talk in english language. My takeaway in this module is to watch more english movies, listen to podcasts and enhance my vocabulary. So now i have a new knowledge about the terminologies. Thank you Coach jammy :)
If someone talks to me in English I understand but I have no confidence in speaking English because of wrong grammar. However, after this module, I realized that being confident is the key and how to start good communication to other person.
I've been working in a shared service provider company and I am a Sales and Marketing Administrator for Australian and New Zealand accounts. I know I am not that fluent in English but I am using the language more often, this helps me to be more conversational in speaking English. I am also studying English recently to broaden my vocabulary that I can use daily to converse with my workmates
As an ESL teacher for beginner learners, I rarely use 'slang', 'expressions' and 'idioms' for better understanding. However, in this industry, I will be conversing with native speakers most likely so this is what I will start doing ~ use more native-like terms.
My goal- to start thinking in english as often as possible. The more I practice it on my mind, I believe it will help me a lot to easily express it in words. It will help me gain the confidence I need not to feel intimidated when conversing with my future foreign clients.
Speaking in English can be challenging for most of us. One thing that can help you to learn to speak the language is to practice, use it more often and be confident.
I love the way you give absolute confidence to your learners/VAs to be. I'll just need to use English as frequent as possible. Practice, practice and practice!
I plan to practice speaking in English for an hour straight a day while I’m studying virtual assistance and other courses, and when I’m creating or learning to build business profiles. I will talk to myself, explaining the things that I’m studying in my own words, and incorporate the vocabulary that I learned in this video. Also, I will not overthink and just say what’s on my mind. Don’t mind if it’s English carabao, and don’t mind the opinions of others because it's your future dollars that are at stake, plus I will gain confidence that I can have a smooth conversation in English with another person.
I Will allot a specific time everyday to watch, read and listen to videos, or podcast available online and be more conversational in this language. Thanks coach bcoz this comment section is like a safe space for us who are not that confident speaking and writing in English.
I know how to read, write, and speak in English but because we rarely use it on a daily basis, I still need to practice the language. Listening and singing to songs written in English, and watching foreign movies with English subtitles do help a lot in improving my knowledge and skills regularly. I recommend reading English books because this really helped me a lot before 😉
I have tried to converse to many foreigners especially in a BPO industry but I am really challenged on understanding them for their accents and slangs. For me, I'll try to watch movies without subtitles for me to understand how they speak and what they usually intend to say in a conversation. Thanks, Coach Jam!
