Managing money is different from accumulating wealth, and the lack of investment education in schools may explain why people struggle to maintain their financial gains. The examples you provided are relevant, and I personally benefited from the market crisis, as I embrace challenging times while others tend to avoid them. Well, at least my advisor does too, jokingly.
Investors should exercise caution with their exposure and exercise caution when considering new investments, particularly during periods of inflation. It is advisable to seek guidance from a professional or trusted advisor in order to navigate this recession and achieve potential high yields.
This is superb! Information, as a noob it gets quite difficult to handle all of this and staying informed is a major cause, how do you go about this are you a pro investor?
It's often true that people underestimate the importance of financial advisors until they feel the negative effects of emotional decision-making. I remember a few summers ago, after a tough divorce, when I needed a boost for my struggling business. I researched and found a licensed advisor who diligently helped grow my reserves despite inflation. Consequently, my reserves increased from $275k to around $750k.
As a new investor it's always great to hear from a person who has gone through all the difficult times and come ahead of it. What are some strategies i can employ to be successful?
There are a handful of experts in the field. I've experimented with a few over the past years, but I've stuck with ‘’ Melissa Terri Swayne” for about five years now, and her performance has been consistently impressive. She’s quite known in her field, look her up.
For lips: Vaseline at night. For makeup removal: unscented lotion, then wash face. For kids toys: rotate or exchange toys with friends. Don’t shop in thrift stores, not good deals. Costco/sam’s: prepare food, freeze 1/2. Fruits getting bad, freeze for smoothies. Vegs, turn into tomato souce for pasta. Buy in bulk, not space? Use those spaces on your kitchen cabinets that you can’t reach as food storage. Keep a track in exp dates. Don’t have Costco card? Ask a friend to buy you $50 gift cards. You can buy without membership and pay for the difference if went over $50. Don’t use debit cards, always cc and always pay your cc full balance, never pay interest fees and use those cc benefits.
The final one about credit cards is a perfect tip. You can build your credit score and earn reward points, which is basically free money. Just always, always pay your statement in full every month.
This year I'm also being more intentional in not planning so much so far ahead. Believe it or not, this helps me save money as planning always to go somewhere means more laundry, more gas spent, and more impulse buying. Now, I find myself spending a third less per week than in previous years. Well, except on groceries; inflation there is ridiculous!
I am a teacher that will be downsizing to a condo from a 3 bedroom house this summer. I have decided not to purchase any new clothes this school year. I will donate/throw away many items when I move. I plan on buying clothes more intentionally in the future…maybe capsule wardrobe.
Got your book! So excited for 2024 changes for me, myself, and I. My super selfish year. Yeah, I'm going there. I'm tired of being a doormat. So "selfish" here I come 😅.
I agree with the groceries. Going from living in a house with 3 people and now to living alone again, I have to change the way I shop for food. I cannot afford to eat out often so I still have to cook at home so I have to change the way I cook. It is a struggle. As for the fast fashion, I have started asking myself if I have any need for it. I have bought stuff from fast fashion stores but I also wear them for years. I bought a shirt from Pennies (their version of Target) when I was in Dublin 9 years ago and I finally had to get rid of them last year. So even though it was only €5, that shirt was well worn and well loved. Most of my clothing are like that.
In 2022, I didn't spend money on Tuesdays and didn't buy anything other than necessities: food, gas, rent, from January to May. 2023 was a different story lol, but I hope 2024 can mirror 2022!
Hey bestie! I have been watching your videos for a while and it has helped me use my end of year bonus each year. As a Teacher who teaches abroad who makes a very neat sum while travelling around on my employers tab, I am now documenting my experience on my RUclips channel with hopes that it would inspire someone out there just as your videos have inspired me.
I 100% feel you on the groceries. I travel about 50% of the time for work, and occasionally I like to cook and put the extras in the freezer, but hot bars and trader Joe's frozen meals are really helpful in keeping me from eating out all the time but also not leaving things to rot when I go away.
So glad you added fast fashion & choosing more sustainable clothing! Good for the environment and the world. Fast fashion uses sweat shops to produce their clothing
I like the sound of this guy, I am also a travel enthusiast but sadly I don’t have the financial power to live my dreams of a n adventurous life, if it’s possible I would also like to do business with this guy, what is the best way I can use to reach out to him
Re: groceries. Yes to keeping a few frozen and canned things around. Also, even if you’re not a traveler, if you can, don’t stockpile. For example, I have a ton of grocery stores within a small radius from my house. So I have no need to buy a case of green beans. One or two cans at time is totally fine. Enough so that I have what I need to cook dinner on a Tuesday but not for the next 6 months. I’m so much more likely to use what I buy than I was in the past and the lack of clutter in my pantry is so soothing. Now, around skincare, I totally just failed that. I just stress-shopped a Sephora order. 😂
Thank goodness you brought this up! Truly, investing has changed my perspective on how one can succeed in life; working multiple jobs isn't the optimal way to attain financial freedom and unfortunately, we discover this later in life. Currently earn as much as 10 grand weekly and this has improved my financial life. Great piece!
she's a known advisor. I actually did look her up curiously and went through her credentials on her webbsite... Top-notch! I wrote her an email, hopefully she's accepting new intakes.
Best life changing advice is to pick a good financial mentor and let them guide you towards wealth. This really saves you from loss and time wasting. I am glad I know Olivia Sullivan.
Vivian!!! You are simply wonderful! I have always loved your content and this particular detox is great. One of my favorite videos that I saw this week was our tongue-in-cheek handbag dupe hack on Amazon. Love it and found a dupe for a bag I have been wanting forever! One thing I am super sad about is that I missed your tour in my area! Will you be touring/book signing in SoCal again any time soon? I hope so! As always thank you so much for your honesty, content and for never shaming those about when they may have started their financial journey...no matter how old they are!
The hourly cost per wear/use….I’ve been doing that in my head since I was 14-including the tax I’d have to pay. Now I’m 58, still doing the same thing. It’s worked out well.😊
I totally agree with your list! The Stanley cup thing is just nuts to me. Thats coming from someone who “collects” cups. I have rules though. My cups are Starbucks cold cups from Disneyland. So each cup has a memory attached. I only have about 4 and one only cost me $5 and is my main water cup since it’s insulated, 32 ounces, AND has Star Wars characters on it. I also collect Disney mugs from my visits. I use all of these at least once a week, so I’m using them. But the Stanley cups in different colors just to be “trendy” seems so wasteful to me UNLESS you’re someone like me who uses all your cups at least once every couple of weeks. If you just have them just to have them is such a waste of money.
Agree!! Glad you mentioned it 🎉 food is exactly same as going out these days , and i always look for rewards in apps and always support mom and pop local restaurants instead of cooking myself . Always get delicious food while not wasting time going to grocery store and cooking 🥰 I got into reselling my old clothes that actually now paying for my credit card bills! It’s like a sport to me now 😂 i am always looking for things to sell and get rid of at home and loving how clean my house is with less stuff i don’t need 🎉🎉woohoo
Love the fast fashion one. I'm learning some things aren't worth spending because they fall apart fast. I rather spend a little more but have it forever.
You still can di groceries just do it differently. You still can have a few: like frozen ready meals, frozen vegetables, frozen berries, frozen desserts. Some coffee / tea. And items that you can to use right away. I agree.. it’s better first you to dine-out, most of the time Will be looking forward to your new videos
I’m a year into buying better quality clothing, starting with denim salvage jeans. Although they are more expensive, better material that last much longer than mass factory produced jeans, and I wear them way more. I’ve broken my habit of impulse clothes buying 🎉
I was thinking about #1 lately too! I admit that I have been influenced to buy a few products but recently I really sat and thought about it and realized I really didn’t “need” these products as they haven’t proven to me that they really are the “game-changers” as the influencers push them to be. 😂
The worst part if that probably you haven’t check your products expiration dates, everything that you open over a year ago may be expired and is bad for your skin.
I don't think I've ever responded to any of these things but I do really like and respect her and I do fully agree with her on all of these especially the groceries. It is just me and I do work a lot so I'm rarely even home and I will buy the little salads from the grocery store weather in avocado and tomato and there's my meal. Or a runa packet with Avocado. The avocado helps the tuna be moist so you don't need to add anything else. You can add a healthy bread which I'm not a fan of I don't like bread at all but I have found a dark rye that I'm completely in love with. I think I switched my thought a little bit there but have a wonderful day everyone
I love your content I purchased your book on audible. I know you upcoming woman, but do not forget about us, man too. We can learn a lot from you. I am give us a mention once in a while.
I save money by buying groceries and making my meals from scratch. I also noticed I am not craving junk like I did and if I want something, I bakenit at home. Again, I noticed it takes me many days to eat that cake vs 1 or 2 days. We don't have the same lifestyle however.
Susan Graver liquid knit clothing on QVC will literally last you 15 years 😂. I can buy a black dress or a pair of black pants and they won't shrink, fade, wrinkle or fall apart. They're definitely not 100% organic cotton but they get the job done lol
I really relate to the hot food bar at the grocery as a happy medium. Kale in the supermarket: intriguing, healthy, versatile, does not spoil *that* fast Kale in my fridge: annoying, bitter tasting, never right for the meal I want, spoiled yesterday OMG HOW? Kale in the salad bar: healthy, high value in vitamins/weight, DELICIOUS OK, so maybe *I'm* the problem, it's me. Not kale. But I'm glad it's not *just* me!

I need advice. My grandson is 11-years-old. I want to set him up with a "savings account" or "investment" so he has funds for either college, car, etc. after I die or when he reaches 18 years old. I am 66 years old and retired on Social Security. What about mutual funds?
Here’s a financial tip you might appreciate: Skip the elaborate skincare routine and just wear and reapply sunscreen every day. Maybe you already know this but I can’t assume because you just listed a bunch of products and none of them are the one product with the greatest, proven, impact on our skin.
@@hannah60000 I mean. My tip assumes there are no medical skin concerns here. But even if you’re treating acne, dermatologists don’t give you a 15-step elaborate skincare routine, generally speaking. They prescribe either oral meds or a topical retinoid (or both). Whatever the case, the main message is that you really don’t need much more than to wash your face daily and wear sunscreen, and *maybe* use a retinoid and/or moisturizer if your particular skin needs it. You don’t have to spend a fortune or invest lot of time in skincare. Toners, essences, eye creams, 2nd-step cleansers, exfoliants, face masks, rollers, patches, and other goops and toys promising whatever are usually unnecessary. And preventing skin damage from the sun is so much more economical than paying for chemical peels, lifts, injections, lasers, etc.
Me and my husband didn’t have much time to see each other only once a week because the time we were working is different. Should I get rid put him on sale too ?
I wish I could just not buy groceries, but my life looks nothing like her’s so I cook at home all the time 😂 I’m onboard with pretty much everything else though!
Another thing to stop buying in 2024, stop buying huge desktop PCs. They're $3000 and value deflates quickly. Either get a cheap $300 laptop, or a $500 mini pc from minisforum or geekom. NEVER get a tower PC

Another option for groceries, find 3,4, or 5 meals at the deli and have it catered for 15. Then, divide and freeze.
Good idea
Thank you!
I agree with you on the hot bar at a good grocery store.
Toe spacers are actually decent. Better to avoid confining shoes in the first place though!

It’s maddening there’s no spaces irl or online anymore we aren’t advertised heavily too. No wonder people have spending problems
I really relate to the hot food bar at the grocery as a happy medium.

Been hearing about you everywhere. Ill be sure to invest in buying your book🎉
I'm happy you got your own book. AWESOME
I love the flash food app from stop an shop. It allows me focus and smart ways of making budget friendly meals.
I also stop buying groceries ….much cheaper and less waste …yupp I live alone….my friend is a chef and i buy from him and it is way less than buying at. Cafe lr restaurant plus I’m supporting a friend’s business

What sets your book apart from the other books that promise the same?
I’ve noticed other writers actually share what licenses they hold.
Do you have a CFP (certified financial planner) license? If so what states?

managing $1B AUM and making 0.1% = making $1mil.
Why would a wall street entity hire someone without any credentials?
Because she explains things in ways that are approachable.

Vivian, are you going to launch spanish version of this book? please i need to give one to my father and he is not as fluent to read on english :(
👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼I’ve been buying quality pieces for years - it’s better to save for a quality 👍🏼
A great channel and style. Id love to replay some of your shows on my online radio station.
With your permission of course.

Ms Vivian. Can you do a video on the concept of “by now pay” the companies are offering for example, Wayfair.

I am planning to see you in Chicago
Thank you for this!. I'm a team member at target and I just walked past some beauty clearance and your video stopped me.
