Young lady, thank you for playing this guitar CLEAN so we actually hear what the guitar sounds like. So many reviews (usually by young guys) only play the guitar heavily distorted.
Yeah or other effects. This is something that I've been wondering for years about, why people almost NEVER plays them clean so that we can actually hear how the guitar sounds like.
jltrem Yes, very much appreciated, along with fingerstyle and playing quietly, which is the only way I can get a sense of how it will play in a jazz context.
Fender defines this guitar as: "perfect for aggressive musical styles that require a pair of fat-sounding humbucking pickups". That's why everyone uses distorsion.
Nice to have a review/demo that consists of more than just distorto power chords and showoff soloing! It seems that between cheap humbuckers and cheap single coils, the humbuckers are more likely to be keepers; Now let's hear the Mustang!
Don't forget that the sound of the guitar is also linked with your amp quality guys, you can have the new strat, if you have a bad amp, it'll not sound good
Love mine...at the shop now getting a setup, new power slinky's and looking into changing the bridge humbuckers and machine heads at some point. But pretty good guitar for the money running an overdrive like a hot tubes,Soul food, tube screamer etc.
Squier really took it to a whole new level lately, coming out with one banger after another. Also, really nice playing! Loving the indie/low-fi vibe. Does she have a band/spotify?
This video was made 6 years ago so squier been on that game for a while. But anyway, I get what you mean. actually ended up buying this…it’s a beast for £150
I owned, played and modded over 100 guitars from cheap to expensive and all types of. A long journey and thousands of bucks later it ended up with this Affinity Jazzmaster. Just changed the tuners and the stringtree and gave it a good setup. I own three of them. I prefer only playing the neck PU on all my guitars. To my ears and personal taste this affinity pickups are the 'best' sounding ones. They Sound like Singlecoils with much more Output. They are ceramic, which i prefer. I buy them on the second market and put it in much more expensive guitars.
That's interesting you say the Affinity pickups are the best sounding ones, I thought the same at times as well. I got the pickups on my Squire Affinity Strat changed to Seymour Duncan ones and a Seymour Duncan hotrail on the bridge, but I am not sure, I think I may prefer how it was with the ceramic affinity pickups??
This is the best demo i've heard , all the others i've heard are with effects and everything turned up full blast , so i couldn't really tell what it sounded like played clean , other demo's /reviews ...well with all the distortion used , it could be any number of guitars been played...beautiful playing...thank you so much for sharing :) from the uk
Wow! I was just listening to Vini's live album from 87 in the car yesterday. Take a listen to Morrissey's 1st solo album Viva Hate and listen to Vini shine!
Really good review - actually one of the few reviews (hey that rhymes) that shows you what the guitar is and what it is not - its not covered up by effects or overdone by multiple amps etc. at least I don't think it is . Awesome!!!
I loved the clean sound, but the overdriven sounded dull, maybe it was the pedal?? would like to hear it with amp's distortion. I'm thinking of getting a 2nd/backup guitar, this seems like a good option
Garegh62 Do you have the Affinity jazzmaster or are you referring to the tone in this demo? The overdrive does sound like ass here, but it's also fender mustang amp and a bad amp can make any guitar sound like ass
I bought the Black Jazz Master. I guess its a Johnny Cash thing. After I saw you playing The Jazz Master. I had to get one. It plays country music just great. Thank You so much. You play Great. Keep up the Great work.
Nice demo of a perfectly serviceable guitar for 90% of the people who play electric. The 12" radius is interesting. I prefer that for bend heavy songs over the slightly more curved 9.5.
I hate hearing that line “great for beginners “. I get the sentiment, it’s just not being able to hear that a guitar could stand on its own meeit that’s frustrating
maybe its the amp or something else, but I watched a couple of other reviews of this guitar and there's a big sound difference. (its probably the drive on the amp)
I thought that this guitar sucked for previous demos, until i found this one. The sound of the guitar really is only on the player and not the instrument.
I wanna hear either Sonic Youth or Nirvana on this thing CX I already have a Squier Bullet Mustang Imperial blue and it's great but the pickups need to be switched out for some Seymour Duncan JB's but on a good note I might buy this guitar... when I have money lol
See? I LOVE the humbuckers in my Bullet Mustang to the point that I'm buyin 'em and puttin in OTHER guitars... But I'm primarily a clean/single coil guy, and Bullet Mustang pups are some of the ONLY humbuckers that I've REALLY liked so far... They're ACTUALLY bright enough for me and can sound even single-coil-ish at times...
Great video I'm sold I'm going to buy one I hope I can make mine sound as good as that young lady made hers sound!! Your playing is beautiful young lady!!
Just to clarify, the reason why reviewers (mainly male) play with distortion is because of the humbuckers. Humbuckers are meant to buzz the hum with dirty, or overdrive effects. But that being said, she’s a very skilled guitarist, but you simps need to calm down.
Love the guitar looks, since the price is low maybe change out those humbuckers for some Seymour D. Jazzmaster pickups; give it that original single coil taste.
She is good at picking, Affinity though some are good they have no quality control. that leaves it on you the consumer.I have one old Duo-Sonic Affinity that is awesome. be selective.
Yes, and bring a bathroom scale with you to the store as weird as it seems. You want to get the lightest possible one. You weigh yourself while holding the guitar, then weigh yourself again without the guitar and just subtract. Squier does have some gems out there but there being less quality control, some are a lot heavier than others
I like how clean the design of this guitar is. One thing that turns me off-aesthetically speaking-from the classic Fender version is the switches and wheels on the top cutaway. This is a much more more basic design and looks great.
I've been thinking both of Seymour Duncan pickups: SH-4 JB in the bridge position and a Vintage Jazzmaster P90 in the neck position. But here in Brazil are very expensive due to taxes!
Great sounding guitar and excellent video, fender better look out there are a lot of guitar companies making good quality guitars at a poor boy prices.
hello I'm a beginner and I would really like to know which guitar would be more suitable for me this or the vintage modified jaguar? (I would really appreciate an answer)
the vm would require you to change the bridge. If you are into grunge/rock I'd recommend the affinity. The vm is a better instrument but it is more expensive. Also there is the dlx sq jazzmaster, with hotter pickups than the vm and without the bridge problems of the vm.
Finally someone that demos a guitar and doesn’t play blues! Thank the lord!!!!!!
Or goes super fast
I felt this 😂😂
😂😂😂😂😂🙌
Dude i fucking hate blues
Young lady, thank you for playing this guitar CLEAN so we actually hear what the guitar sounds like. So many reviews (usually by young guys) only play the guitar heavily distorted.

so sad
Fender defines this guitar as: "perfect for aggressive musical styles that require a pair of fat-sounding humbucking pickups". That's why everyone uses distorsion.
Why not both?
Bro, the lady’s playing was on POINT
Nice to have a review/demo that consists of more than just distorto power chords and showoff soloing! It seems that between cheap humbuckers and cheap single coils, the humbuckers are more likely to be keepers; Now let's hear the Mustang!
I just purchased one of these. Fantastic guitar for the money.
Is the nut junk? I have no experience with whatever material it is but I see a lot of reviewers complain about this style of nut.
Wow her playing was so pleasant especially after hearing so many reviewers' Generic Blues Riffs.
I saw another videos of the same guitar, but in this one i can actually hear how the guitar really sounds, You sold it to me! Thanks for your review!
Don't forget that the sound of the guitar is also linked with your amp quality guys, you can have the new strat, if you have a bad amp, it'll not sound good
@@axelvincent4046 yes you're right too
what amp would I need to make it sound similar to min 2:53 ?
SR Improve well, it is coming out of a fender mustang amp
Paris is Burning by St Vincent
Great song, excellent album. Nice to hear it in a gear demo.
Love mine...at the shop now getting a setup, new power slinky's and looking into changing the bridge humbuckers and machine heads at some point. But pretty good guitar for the money running an overdrive like a hot tubes,Soul food, tube screamer etc.
the after intro plucking was soothing
Thanks for playing it that many ways that really helps to get an impression on the real clean sound!
That's a wonderful demo. I just got this guitar and so excited for it to arrive
Squier really took it to a whole new level lately, coming out with one banger after another.
Also, really nice playing! Loving the indie/low-fi vibe.
Does she have a band/spotify?

@@daviddr2d2 When it comes to strings, pickups, pickups height etc. it's all personal taste. Alnico and Ceramic definitely sound different.
great demo particularly with the clean tones
We need more female reviewers.
Gender doesn't matter bro.
We just need more reviewers who play like her
@@chemicalcabbage m a t t e r
I just need this guitar. I love the jazzmaster🤑🤑😎👌
I just ordered one of these im excited

Have a look at the DAWSONS reveiw.
Im a beginner in guitar and i love Durutti column music. Thanks a lot for playing finger picking.
Wow! I was just listening to Vini's live album from 87 in the car yesterday. Take a listen to Morrissey's 1st solo album Viva Hate and listen to Vini shine!
I'm going to start saving up for this bad boy.
Did u end up buying it m8?
Very cool and original playing style, want that guitar whenever I can afford it
Me too :c
Hey Ms Garza...big ups to San Antonio Texas...thanks for unique review.
Really good review - actually one of the few reviews (hey that rhymes) that shows you what the guitar is and what it is not - its not covered up by effects or overdone by multiple amps etc. at least I don't think it is . Awesome!!!
Amazing sound, amazing player.
I totally bought one of these. Happy with it too.
Nice name
I loved the clean sound, but the overdriven sounded dull, maybe it was the pedal?? would like to hear it with amp's distortion. I'm thinking of getting a 2nd/backup guitar, this seems like a good option
Damian de la Cruz it looks like she's playing through that mustang amp so I'd expect that
Garegh62 Do you have the Affinity jazzmaster or are you referring to the tone in this demo? The overdrive does sound like ass here, but it's also fender mustang amp and a bad amp can make any guitar sound like ass
It was the amp
is a mustang amp not good?
I don't play guitar but this is so pretty! exactly the kind of music I want to hear.
Great playing!
I bought the Black Jazz Master. I guess its a Johnny Cash thing. After I saw you playing The Jazz Master. I had to get one. It plays country music just great. Thank You so much. You play Great. Keep up the Great work.
I dig the young lady's playing it's relaxed and not annoyingly busy riffage except for EVH rip.
Wow i just saw Squier is releasing the Classic Vibes BassVI this year!!!! I hope you will post some review of it!
Nice demo of a perfectly serviceable guitar for 90% of the people who play electric. The 12" radius is interesting. I prefer that for bend heavy songs over the slightly more curved 9.5.
the white one looks really cool 👌🏻

Damn She Ownes that Guitar.
She does
Wow. Just gorgeous. The guitar too.

She's A fine Guitarist
Was this filmed in The Basement Of The Alamo Music Center???
I like how clean the design of this guitar is. One thing that turns me off-aesthetically speaking-from the classic Fender version is the switches and wheels on the top cutaway. This is a much more more basic design and looks great.
You get a lot less versatility from this though, that rhythm circuit is indispensable.
Paris is burning
what is the name of the song at 2:55 ? 😍
“Midnight” by Lianne La Havas
thank you so much!
this or the Ltd esp ec256??
please tell me im not seeing things and that they put a hockey head on the end
This guitar is good for shreding...quality/price=perfect for starters
great review!
is this guitar suited for small hands??
Curious what an hhs is at how it differentiates it from other fenders. Is the hhs stand for humbuckers?
Nice playing, nice guitar. It has a Jagmaster body with a non tremolo bridge and dual humbuckers. How can Squier call this a Jazzmaster??????
At 7:00 it sounds like
Lil keke- peeping in my window.
I like this girls playing, pretty good .
Lmao it does
Does anyone know if these stock pickups are Ceramic or Alnico?!
great video could let me know did you change guitars because of different gauge strings fitted for different tuning thanks
its an amazing guitar!!!!
Finally clean tone
alder body + one piece maple neck good deal for the price here
Maybe the first run of production were alder, but they are now poplar.
I've been thinking both of Seymour Duncan pickups: SH-4 JB in the bridge position and a Vintage Jazzmaster P90 in the neck position. But here in Brazil are very expensive due to taxes!
what were the settings on that soul food in bridge position won that last lick. so dope!!!
Yo me compraré una guitarra así
Son muy buenas
I wanna get one of these, run it thru a Big Muff fuzz and play some Fu Manchu!
Did you? Mine is coming in a few days and I plan on doing the same thing, lol.
I approve this message. Long live the almighty FU.
and i want to run mine thru a Fender twin reverb with a small clone and a boss DS-2 so i can play yeah...Kurt Cobain
frank black ! ill never loose my FU Manchu ahhhoowwww my FU manchu absolutly tictack
You are officially the best guitar reviewer in the world.
No, she’s good but not the best.
im a bass player, but love jazzmasters
Should I buy this one or Yamaha Pacifica?
Compared to affinity telecaster where this guitar stands? I mean which is better affinity tele or this?
Hi. Is it a standard .measure to fit a different pickguard?
got one of these badboys i prefer it over my mexi strat, prob one of the better guitars in this price range
Well done
This or a cort kx100io? The cort is a sweet looking orange with ceramic pickups.
Harmoni sekali permainanmu, aku terharu

Hi i want to buy this guitar , can you please tell me if it's good to play blues and also which amp can i buy for home practice. Thank you
Boss Katana MK 50
Song 5:16 ?
Not sure to be honest! Would ask, but this video was filmed such a long time ago. Not sure who we would ask.
ST Vincent - Paris Is Burning!
Whats the first song being played?
Paris is Burning by St Vincent
Opinions on the lack of tremolo?
Okay then
A thousand million guitars with tremolo and you need this one to have one too?
This girl play that guitar better than 43 people 'cause thumbs down the video, I LOVE THESE SONGS!
I want this guitar in any colour cant find it anywhere :(
Is it only for jazz anf funk can I use it for grunge or rock
I use it for death metal ....it has 2 humbuckers so its really versatile and can play anything especially rock stuff
Around the two minute mark I was expect her to break out with Call of Ktulu
I’ve gotta get one like that 😍
The guitar would be nice too
Song at 2:54 ??
Song at 2:54 is Lianne La Havas - Midnight :)
matt37137 thanks!!!
I am not a beginner but I want one...
hello I'm a beginner and I would really like to know which guitar would be more suitable for me this or the vintage modified jaguar? (I would really appreciate an answer)
red universe either would be completely fine, it really comes down to price and which one's sounds/feel you prefer.
Damian Jackson thank you for your help
Vintage modified jaguar. it may cost a bit more but it'll be worth it in the end.
the vm would require you to change the bridge. If you are into grunge/rock I'd recommend the affinity. The vm is a better instrument but it is more expensive. Also there is the dlx sq jazzmaster, with hotter pickups than the vm and without the bridge problems of the vm.
What's the third song she plays?
Начало у нас любой парниша радует!дальше кавернет
So it's basically a Firebird by Squier now?
