Seeing that ad makes me want join the marines and I served 20 years in the Navy lol.
Being an older Army veteran, in my day we didn't care about the commercials back then. It was about the history the service and the opportunities. Respect to all branches but leave commercials to the Hollywood types, cuz service people are a different breed
The Army fights on the ground...the Air Force battles the skies, and the Navy sails the seas. But the Marines. The Marines fight on the land, hold the skies and brave the seas.

I served 6 years and I’ve been out over 13 years. I’m a proud Marine and OIF veteran.
I can honestly say that without standing on those yellow footprints and going into harm’s way for this country, I would not be where I am today. And I am in a good spot. 🇺🇸

yea fr a lot of people just assume the marine corp is the army but more "elite" when its for a whole different purpose. its for naval and amphibious assaults. after the marines were disbanded after the revolution they came back as literal ship boarding parties to raid pirate ships. marines would still be doing that today if their were any ship to ship combat like the past.

The first time I saw my cousin in his blue dress uniform in 1971, when I was 17, it was at that moment I decided I would join the Marine Corps when I graduated high school. Unfortunately, when I went to the recruiting office, the recruiter was out. The Navy recruiting office was next door, so I stopped in for a visit. Before I knew what hit me, I was stepping off the bus at Navy boot camp in Orlando and, as they say, the rest is history. I was proud of my eight years in the Navy, but I always regretted not enlisting in the Marine Corps.

As a former 3/3 Radio Operator that was stationed in Hawaii during 2004-2007. I am so proud of these young Devil Dogs. I wish i could serve with them just to encourage them to keep waking up every morning for work.

40 years ago June 20th I stood on the Yellow foot prints in San Diego. Best decision in my life! Gave me the discipline to go on and get my degree and have a great career and life as an engineer. Of course it might have been how badly it sucked carrying that pack up mount MF'er... Either way, I don't regret a minute of my 4 years! Semper Fi!

My brother in law is a retired marine and he is still an expert marksman, he can outshoot all of us with just irons it’s amazing how quickly he can make adjustments and get right on target or one shot dead on and repeat that shot multiple times it’s awesome.
The best part for me of being a Marine , is the fact that while I was an aircraft maintainer, I could deploy crew served weapons, write a patrol order and execute a movement in a combat area( and did in Ramadi Iraq) balance a budget, take inventory and shoot any weapon given to me. That was my job......Marine!
Damn, not gonna lie this comment makes me jealous. I was an Air Force aircraft maintainer, and that is the only thing we did, no real cross training. Funny, I literally had a conversation the other day with an old Air Force buddy and said "we had fun, but how much more fun would it have been to get to do 'G.I. Joe shit' as well?!" Sounds like you got the best of both worlds. That kind of variety sounds awesome. Good for you man!
