I gotta say, you nailed this one! It's got the humor of silly WheezyNews videos with the informational stuff of the main channel. I don't know what it was exactly but the humor worked so well for me. Maybe it was the high jokes/minute ratio? And your parents killed it!

I would love to hear more about Surface Zero with a family. When it’s my stuff, it feels actionable. But when it’s ambiguous, I have trouble.
Watch one of the last videos about the perfect nighttime routine. They have implemented a moment at night where they reset the home for the next day.
And it is about training yourself and family members: when you are done with a thing, put it away immediately.

I love it when you have your parents on the channel, and the blooper was A+! Thanks for the reminder about "zero-ing" your life - I just went through last night and deleted something like 8,000 emails from the past couple of years and god my email feels so good.
First, I love your parent's cameo. Hilarious. Second, as someone with ADHD, I do much better on the days when I start from a "zero" the night before. That is usually my Sunday night before the start of a week. With no clutter in my email, on my desk or in my house, my brain is free to take in all the stress of the week. Great video!
As someone with ADHD I feel like I use all the clutter as stimulation, but, like cortisol, it is not a pleasant stimulant

I got ADHD and organizing my life is a serious struggle for me! same goes for work - I will try not to use my inbox as a todo list because it really overwhelms me. A mail is not just the simple task "call X" but a person, a lot of other text, the history of the conversation, etc. So I think I get visually and emotionally overwhelmed by seeing all that all the time. Thanks Craig! :)

Hi there! I don’t comment on videos very often, but I’ve been wondering about this for a while. We’ve been watching Ada grow up in the background for a while now, and as a new parent, I’d love to hear your parenting tips. You seem like an awesome dad, and I’d love to hear your thoughts!
Just got a second cat who always gets up in your business and suddenly surface zero is quite easy... or at least easier that cleaning up the mess after that damned cat gets into food scraps or kicks over kitchenware. Inbox and desktop zero had always been my default. It sure does help a lot and feels insanely good to end the workday with an empty inbox!
I love this and I think I definitely need this in my life! I appreciate all the tips and tricks, but it seems like there was no advice for Surface Zero and that's the one I need help for the most... lol

I also do WhatsApp zero! Same logic as for email conversations: if the chat doesn't need my attention then I archive it, then when I get a new message in that chat it automatically un-archives itself.

When thing start to look cluttered, I always feel better after clearing those surfaces off. Inbox Zero I have a harder time with. I'm more of an Inbox 20K kindof person. Thanks for sharing!

Beauty Base Zero, Is from Hunger Games. We use it for ”spaces” but In the books it is for people fresh, clean without make up or other stuff.
The links and images in spam emails usually include a tracker, so once you click "unsubscribe" they know it's an active address and will send even more spam your way. To avoid that, don't open spam emails, or at least don't open any links and make sure images are not automatically displayed.
That's old, bad advice, at least for well-known companies. Most companies use reputable email autoresponders which have to conform to ICANN rules. Only the most unscrupulous marketers would make a list from the blocked email adresses, and even then, they're not even given the option to do that on some email services/servers.
I like desktop zero for the phone home screen. Actually see my wallpaper and can swipe to the side or up to access folders and widgets and rest of the apps.

I don't need a "why" to inbox zero, I need a "how" to inbox zero. Everything I've seen/read (for gmail specifically) involve other apps and tools to sort and archive and filter more efficiently - so a job that would take hundreds of hours might only take a week. But I still can't bring myself to spend days and days organizing my inbox. With camera's mem card you can "lock" particular photos you want to keep and then with one button delete all the rest. I have never understood why this isn't an option for email.

I long since lose control of my email and it's to the point that its become pointless to even start trying because there must be millions of unread emails
just delete them all lol, if you have that many unread and you know you won't go through them it's as good as 'not received' anyways

I have a To Do map for my mail which does help. Things are still open or that I need more time for.
A habit that I'm trying to maintain, which is pretty close to The Zero Rules is to put stuff back to its place. It's hard to maintain, because sometimes there's stuff that don't have a ground zero to put back to. Sometimes I'm lazy. Sometimes OTHER PEOPLE at my house doesn't put HER stuff back. I'm refering to YOU, MY WIFE! love you!
I took a course years ago that called that "the one touch system." Don't put your jacket down on a chair only to have to hang it up later--always hang it up right away instead (in our house we achieved that by replacing the closet rod with a set of hooks). And PS, according to new theories, there's no such thing as "lazy"--there are always unseen barriers to why we aren't doing the things we'd like to be doing differently.
I got a public safety announcement to all stay inside your car when somebody refuses to go when the light becomes green same with any traffic jams it might be a trap text a few people or better let people on Facebook know you got stuck in a traffic jam letting somebody know your location works best

I run the surface zero lifestyle exclusively for my kitchen sink.
In all other aspects, I like my things where I can see them. The kitchen sink? That stays empty, only filled when I'm actively washing dishes.
And yes, my desktop is a mess. But I know where everything is.

I've followed desktop zero for years, but mostly I'd like to follow task zero. I'm self employed and is I did every task I get as soon as possible my life would be so sweet... But usually I just procrastinate until the very last possible deadline 😢
I absolutely keep my desktop clean from files (but it is artfully filled with shortcuts to my regularly used apps). I also clear my browser of tabs. However this does not translate to my desks and benches, which are scattered with junk. I gotta get better at that.

I've been doing 0 inbox and 0 Desktop for ages but interested in starting some other 0's particularly health 0! Got away from me a little during Covid :( Also Desktop 0 is priceless when tech support are confused abotu where the thing they just saved to desktop went xD

For the desktop clutter, i use Fences. Its beautiful, size a window, name it. Dump your files and apps into the fences youve created and, when you double click an empty portion of the desktop, it hides all the files.

@@iambear.6526 Yes and no lol, obviously they fill basically the same function, I was just saying what I like to use. It's not a folder but an actual window on your screen. You can change the size, color, and opacity of the windows along with the name to help keep stuff organized and quick to get to. And when you want them gone, you just double click an empty section of desktop and all the windows disappear :)

I have way too many emails. I Honestly don't know how to delete them all at this point. I sometimes search for all of one sender and delete all of those, but it's a drop in the bucket.
