Review Uperfect 10.1" 2560x1600 HDR Portable HDMI Monitor - Fantastic Value | My Experience - Covist

- The Uperfect 10.1" IPS 2560x1600 60hz HDR Portable HDMI Monitor is a great little monitor for traveling (great to use with PS4/Xbox/Laptop) or even just as a small desktop monitor. It can be powered by USB and it accepts 2 mini HDMI input, thus making it super versatile. The image is very sharp, colors are also very good, and viewing angle is decent too. However, despite how good it looks, it's not perfect. HDR takes quite a bit of tweaking, there's a tiny bit of latency, 16:9 inputs get stretched to the 16:10 screen, TRS headphones don't work well, and no built in stand or mounting points. Having said all that though, I think the image quality out weighs these drawbacks, especially at its price of 130USD or 160CAD.

I just realized I made a mistake in the video. When I said/labeled TRS and TS, I meant to say/label TRRS and TRS. But my point still stands; use headphones without inline mics!
Any 10-11 available now?
Thanks for the review!
You are GREAT man. Thanks for the video. Keep doing this.
Thank you, glad you like the video!
Supporting you bro. Subbed
Would you mind posting your best settings for the display? I am having trouble getting this display to look it’s best.
Why do you not have more subs? I mean you have the best setup for RUclips
Glad you enjoy my videos!
I want to use this as a second monitor to edit in Final Cut Pro from a MacBook Pro. I plan to use it as the viewer window to free up real estate on the MBP screen for the timeline. I’m worried about this stretch screen effect you mention and of course need to get the aspect ratio correct for video editing. This is a different set-up to gaming. Will it be possible for me to adjust the second screen parameters on the Mac to get around this?
I just want to know something how you setup the light in that background it looking cool
Is there is a developer tool to flip the image. Would like to use it as teleprompter...
It does no seem to have a display port? Is there any way to get around it?
Link to the stand u used in the video?
can i use this on my sony mirrorless camera for tether?
Can you tell me if this can be powered by the USB on a computer?
What is the response time in milliseconds?
Does it image-flip for teleprompter use?
I see you used an anker power bank. We are looking to get this portable monitor for our road trip so our kids can connect their Nintendo Switch to it. Do you think the USB port that our iPhones plug into in our car would power the monitor?
awesome review!
Thanks!
Covist how much is the latency. Can’t find anything about it.
Htbaa I don’t have a tool to actually test it and give you a number , but the latency is definitely noticeable in any FPS/fast pace games.
@@Covist Hmm, so I suppose slower than 5ms? I was thinking about getting one of these portable monitors as a 2nd screen for my laptop (work purposes) and use the portable monitor for my mini NES and mini SNES, as well as some of my retro consoles with an HDMI converter.
Where can I buy a portable commercial small form factor portable display hdmi monitor?
Good video!
Thanks!
thanks alot
I see the same shadows on your face. The light from above makes your face go dark when you look down and up. (I love your content and way of reviewing stuff)
Can you confirm it's actually 2560x1600? Like showing a Windows Display option?
I could use this to play Fortnite on Xbox one?
I never knew it was 2.5K. I want just wait for 4K
Hi, did you try this with a Macbook pro? I am thinking to get this one to test/dev websites on the go since on my Macbook the resolution is not much.
For my 2011 Macbook Pro (with a display port to HDMI adapter), it works but only in certain resolutions. 1080p is one that works for sure.
Edit: thinking about it, it might be because my adapter probably doesn't support higher than 1080p.
Great Vid, will this run off USB port on a Laptop, would be great if it doesn't need to be connected to another power source. Thanks.
Yup, it worked when I plugged it into my macbook pro.
How is this compared to the 11.6 gechic 1101p 1920 x 1080 monitor? I got this monitor already, I like it. I am using it mainly for PS4. But thinking of buying the gechic instead of this.
Unfortunately I have not had the chance to try the Gechic, so I can't say for sure. But just looking at the price difference, I do question if it can be that much better.
I have the 13.3" 2K HDR model.... doesn't appear to be HDCP compliant as when I have it connected my Mac won't stream HD movies. Anyone else have this issue?
make sure the resolution is a standard one. one time i used an uncommon resolution from my mac and it didn't work
Does the display rotate so that the cables will be on my right side? I thought the cables will be on right side because in the images at amazon it is on the right side.
Sadly no. No rotation option. When you look at the display, the cables come out on the left.
Actually it will rotate if you intend to use it for a second monitor on the PC, in display settings you can do a flipped landscape or even use it horizontal with the flipped portrait setting
@@gman102formyspace Yes that is true but only for computers. Anything else, say a game console, then you're stuck.
Hi, can I use this monitor for PC as a main monitor?
Yes, you could if you'd like.
For people who have purchased this monitor do you think it would work for gaming as I am pursuing the idea of putting together a portable gaming setup. And this monitor or at least the 1080p version seamed like a good option, can you let me know if they are as I don't have any experience buying monitors the size of tablets.
Depends on how important/sensitive you are to latency. I definitely can notice the slight latency in fast pace games. But if you're playing slow pace games or something, then yea it'll work fine.
Covist so playing overwatch on this is would yield some lag then.
Tenżin yes, you’ll notice the delay in FPS games
Is this good for movie's is their lag during movie or video?
There*
Touch screen or not??
How many cables do you need to plug to you macbook pro?
Two (unless you plug it somewhere else for power). Usb for power, and HDMI for video.
@@Covist are u using the latest macbook where ports are only USB C/thunderbolt?
@@ivanmatala no, mine is an old MacBook. It should work with the type c ports if you have the right cable/adapter though
How do I change the language (I am assuming its Chinese) on the menu to english? Also I tried switching the refresh rate to 50 from 60 and now its stuck. When I connect it to my macbook I get a green screen. If I mirror it it works fine I can switch it back to 60hz but if I try to extend the desktop it somehow switches back to 50 and the screen turns green.
need recommnendation for 144hz screen, similar size. thanks.
I don't think it exist at this time, or at least I haven't seen one. Sorry.

Can you use Samsung DeX on it? Anyone please reply thanks
Did you ever figure this out, or have you selected a different monitor to use with DeX?
@@swingasc I'm looking to transform a broken S10 (display is broken but touch input works fine) into a tablet using this monitor. Si you know if you can use only 1 usb C cannot to power and display content from the S10?
i would like to see a case for this
Yea, that would be nice, especially to protect the screen.
@@Covist Ive been googling for hours and havent found a decent case for it
@@Covist i mean im using old lcd/led screen from an old laptop to do this and ihave the contorllers and alll but its a mess
of cables
You use an powerbank from Anker in this Video. How long are you able to use the monitor with that? How many mAh has the powerbank?
Good question. I actually haven't timed it. I'll test it and get back to you.
Covist thanks
@@Covist WELL?
I tested the power draw with a meter and it draws about 1.17 amps. So a 5000mah battery should last a little over 4hrs in ideal condition.
Covist how was that time amount calculated?
Great monitor, is it good for gaming?
Works great for casual gaming. But I wouldn't recommend it for serious gaming cause of the latency.
Portable gaming tv 📺, Cool, Livelifeloud Cheers and Cheeks Out 😊🇨🇦👍🕺🏻
Can i play ps4 in that monitor?
Yes, but I notice that there is a bit of delay
Response monitor in ms?
They don't seem to list it and I don't have the tool to check, but it's not fast enough that I don't notice it on fast pace games.
Ebay $9.00
it's around 100$ on aliexpress

Will this monitor run fortnite
It'll run almost anything as long as it's HDMI. But like I mentioned in the video, there is a bit of latency.
why do I feel like this whole scrip is written in MLA format
I feel like im in school
Lmao. I’m trying my best to improve my script and talking ability. I want it to be more natural too!
Hello can you all review the rugged Xenarc 7" to 18" All-Weather Monitors. They are way better than anything you reviewed here. check out their website and rugged monitors at www.xenarc.com
I don't for the love of God understand how that's a good price on something that is just a monitor I can buy a small TV that does more and has more tech inside of it for the same price or less so why would I do that does that makes sense to anybody else
Fake product!! HDR monitor must be over 600cd/㎡ at least and 10 bit color. It's only 300cd/㎡ and 8 bit color as past monitors does. I've never seen any HDR supported and 10 bit colored monitor yet. It's just 2560*1600 resolution normal monitor.
I’m not trying to be mean but I’m scared of his teeth
Rambling fast to sound either professional or convincing does not clarify specs, details, or even basic info which is vital for the searcher. Take a breath, sloooooooooooooooow down, and enunciate your consonants so people can catch what you’re saying. This has nothing to do with you “not speaking English good enough”, which is really trivial. This has to do with avoiding lazy or sloppy sentence fragments. The millennials on RUclips, for example, who aren’t old enough to have too many pubes have completely and utterly no idea that their listeners can’t understand them. Regardless, they’d rather sound psyched or what they feel is swag and profesh. Take it from a radio announcer : no one sounds cool by slurring their speech as they spit out a full 5 mins of extended raspberry phonetics (essentially, a mouth fart). Clarity - that is THE number one purpose of both speaking and announcing : for your audience.
Effort appreciated, nevertheless. I have learned from your presentation and am grateful.
get your ears checked and maybe your eyes too if you're gonna post this comment twice
@@jennybird_ Go f#ck a duck. And my ears are superb. Par excellence. And even those with poor ears won’t appropriate projectile consonant spewing as a replacement for phonetic phonemes which construct an audibly discernible message.
Also, I got one comment. If I commented a second time replying to another comment, I don’t know where that comment is but it won’t be a verbatim version of my direct comment above. Show me where a dupe is and I’ll correct its sentence structure just for you, if it’s verbatim. But odds aren’t likely of any dupe coz my sole comment above is rather lengthy if you’ve noticed. Maybe get yer device “checked”.
man child calm down 😅
@@jennybird_ Oh, look, a cartoon is trying to communicate in English, I suppose, with no punctuation, indicative of a lazy mind; and further, of lazy thought.
I’m going to rule out that guttural verbäge as meaning I myself needing to acquire a degree of “calm”, since it’s quite overt that I am already quite acquiesced in my insistence in your duck humping, or bird banging, if you prefer.
So, this leaves me with the responsibility of deciphering your syntactical catastrophe into conversational English blather.
I’m guessing herein that you’re trying to say, that you, “Man Child”, are regularly in need of some type of sedative, and thereby do manage to “calm” [illiterately omitting the ‘s’ in ‘calms’ in what is otherwise intended “calms down”] yourself, as employed Imperfect Tense, indicating continuous action in past, e.g., “I, Man Child, King of Apes, do regularly-rather-than-just-once, tend on a routine basis to ‘calm down’ after, for instance, hugging a stranger with a trench coat here in the metropolis of Jentoo, gets me aroused, by using my prescription meds.”
Hence, “Man Child calm down”. I would add you should make a decision. Commit to “Man” or “Child”, even though your parents may expect you to keep your given name, after you decide which you are, because it’ll confuse less people until you can stop speaking of yourself in third person.
Similar dialect is conveyed in :
“Tarzan grope boy.”
“Sometimes, Malbert pee red.”, and even
“Mongo change own nappy”.
Do let me know if I’m on the right track in your best proto-Crotchynesian, as time affords.
I anticipate your next grunt with eager enthusiasm.
