I like your suggestion of the twist tie but unfortunately those items are not available in every country what do you suggest as a alternative to that which can be reused I know zip ties can be used but they are not an easy thing to undo while you are in the water. Anything else that can be used in its place?
I wouldn't recommend a ziptie to temporarily hold your gear on for the launch and landing (too much plastic waste). I'd recommend a velcro strap, or some elastic with a ball on one end and a loop on the other so the ball goes through the loop and is tied to fit around whatever object you're holding in place. Does this help?
How long is the board? Do you think anything over 36" will do? I'm pretty happy w/ my ab float, except that it drags very slowly through the water when I'm pulling on it. I assume this type would pull more easily.
This particular board is 41" in length. Bigger the better for sure. The weight of your (Banks Board?) is what causes a lot of resistance. The bookie is like 25% of the weight of a banks board. It does still drag, not on the surface so much, but when you're at depth and your float line is maxed out.
I would suggest heavy duty zip ties and a stainless steel washer (make sure the center hole is smoothed so it doesn't cut the zip tie). Even better would be if you could do a stainless steel 2"x 0.75" plate with a hole on each end, so the zip goes through each hole and sandwiches the plates on the top and bottom so you don't rip the foam. I'm sure there are other ways of doing this too, just something to keep the zips from ripping the foam. Just make sure there is nothing sticking out off bottom of the board that would catch kelp or cause drag.

I understand how this would work if I was using the outer edges of the board i.e I would sandwich the washers and the zip tie would loop around the side. But how would this work if I was going through the center of the board?
@@jarednepute So sorry for the tardy reply. That's not common! I would use a stainless steel "washer/strip" that is about 2-3" long with holes on each side then put one "washer/strip" on each side of the board and thread the HD zip tie through each hole.

Leash plugs are not easily available here what can I use as an alternative?
