Lots of Kpop videos are filmed in US because it has totally different vibe than South Korea. For example, the residential area they used for this MV, they could NEVER get that feel in Korea. Also, filming in foreign country gives Korean viewers new fresh exotic feeling if that's the the director is going for.

I don't know about the other artists but IU is her first time in 16 years filming a music video out Korea this is because of her cooperation with LooneyTunes for the character Tweety, and there is a special version of the album for Tweety being released. The song about freedom I think this is another reason why she chose America because Korea does not have enough freedom
There's a few reasons. SoCal usually has good weather and lots of different locales and terrains. It's also home to a ton of musicians and record companies so they can drop in on their friends and work on their music here. I also wonder that since Rose has been here in LA working on her music, if they didn't take the chance to get together and talk about the collab IU wanted to do with Rose and got nixed by YG.

I am not sure about your reference to this song being by her self. Love Wins All was a solo song as well. Of course V starred in the MV but he was on the song. Many Kpop groups perform extensively in the US so making a certain number of MV's here makes sense as it helps an American audience connect with then as most of the lyrics are in Korean. There is no doubt in my mind that IU's decision to film this MV in the States is due to the fact that she has 6 stops on her world tour in the US. A place she has never held a concert. She has been here once back in 2014 but it was a frustrating experience for her because her English was almost non existence and she couldn't communicate very well with her audience. She stated then that she would learn English before she returned. It is also easy to interpret this song as a Declaration that she is going to put in the effort to become a presence in the West. In song she says she is a spore and well catch the wind. We'll one thing spores do is spread out from their birth home. I feels like she is also telling those people who have told her she doesn't need to become a presence in the West or be successful in the west, that she has decided to do so and the decision is hers to make as it always has been. She is letting go of the old IU (the flying kite like figure). She also says she knows it won't be easy and the chances that it would be easy are zero. She says at the start that she isxa spore and she doesn't really like smooth ground. Meaning taking the safe way. I am not sure but I don't think there has been a kpop soloist that has tried to enter in a direct way the US market. There maybe a couple who are Korean American who have had some level of success in the US but English is/was their first language. You have Jay Park who has had success in the US but he to is a Korean/American who speaks English. Of course I could be wrong about the meaning of the song but the lyrics combined with the MV certainly match up perfectly with my interpretation. Time will tell.

The reason why a lot of Kpop M/Vs are shot in the U.S. is because it's the most mainstream market in the world, it's the biggest market, so it appeals to the locals with its familiarity and familiarity, and because Kpop still has more Asian fans, it can offer them a different landscape.
