I recently heard from a student that in his home country last year the CGS Type A application window was in DECEMBER. He did not find this out until it was too late. It is a good reminder to start researching the process early and look for info specific to your country.

You mentioned that most of your candidates have had success applying through the CGS type A does that mean type A application method is more advisable or is it possible to apply for the CGS through type A and type B at the same time.

First, I should note that the CGS process is competitive and requires time and attention no matter which type an applicant applies through. That said, for our program I would estimate that for every 1 student we get on a Type B CGS (through the university) we get 4-5 on Type A CGS (through the embassy in the applicant's home country). This is why we usually advise applicants to make the CGS Type A their first priority. While a student cannot be awarded both a CGS A and B award, I do know of students who have applied for both.
