I played it clean and suffered A LOT. Raceway 2 is straight forward easy. Just hold your Line and Speed correctly approached to every (hard) Turns. (Use the "Out-In-Out" method) Raceway 1 is the hardest. The many (hard) Turns don't give much acceleration time, but even that is actually just enough to maintain a robust lead. However, in the Forest section, the Snake-like turns are the most nerving moment in the Race and you could lose even by one-time mistake your lead. Raceway 3 is less harder than Raceway 1, but that doesn't mean either it's easier. You have to practice these Raceways 1-3. Only then you can Win clean against the cheating AI. This Game on PSOne, is not to be underestimate ever.
You don‘t need to play dirty at all. Actually one of the main mistakes in the game - and actually the dude in the video is making the mistake too - is to try and steer to much into corners, rather than using brake and gas at the same time. In doing so, the car will drift into the corner, pointing it into a straight line much faster and much more reliably
@@denver376 i actually may be late to the party but I won all championships by choosing namco neGcon controller (google it, it was like very weird precursor for steering wheel), but used xbox360 emulator to map steering wheel turn input as well as buttons and pedals axis - the effect is that I was able to play NFS High Stakes... with Thrustmaster T300RS, pedals and sequential gearbox :D
