Another great video. Wondering if you were thinking about creating a video next month or soon that showcased some of the cards that are rotating in Aug and what some good legal replacements might be. I know with a new set, new strategies emerge and certain decks/combos don’t work anymore but would be interested in seeing what you think!! I’m so hoping Bloomburrow brings some good land replacements.
With the mana flooding, what do you think of people claiming MTGA is match fixing through the shuffler? Of course, sometimes it’s just bad luck, but many people don’t think so. What do you think?
Yesterday doing my dailies went 3-1 in ranked queue going first only once in my 2nd game out of 4 against aggro. Time was running out so went to get a fast win with red deck on the play queue. 1st game on the draw against mirror and bad had, mulligan and got even worse. Game was not even close. 2nd game again on the draw. Got pissed for going second 5 out of 6 games so for time efficency started to concede games until i got a "You go first" pass because lets face it, play queue is basically mono red mirrors and if wizards decided my opp should win by going first let's just cut it short for everyone's sake. At the 8th game mark on play queue finally got to go first with awfull hand, mulligan to a decent hand who got me a very close win against red mirror because flooded like hell. In total 12 games (4 ranked + 8 play) 10 on the draw in bo1 where who get's to go first is massive favourite to win. Digital coin flip should be 50/50 but i had a 9 game streak going second (2 ranked+7play queue). Smells fishy.
@@paulocampino5045 50% chance does not mean an even split. Flip a coin yourself 9 times and see what happens. Its entirely possible to have heads/tails that many times in a row.

What I mean is that I start getting really bad draws and my opponent draws value cards every turn, and there were three games in a row where they drew perfect counters to my board. It happens on and off, but these "coincidences" of hard bad luck and no in between begins to feel like fixing to me. Of course, there's also the skill element and I'm not a pro so there's that
I honestly don't have real information to give opinion on this - that's a hard topic :) However, MMR matchmaking isn't a secret (I believe it's just a fact that everyone agrees on) - and it already shows that depending on how you perform, you get different power of opponents (which usually comes mainly from their decks). So there seems to be at least 1 mechanic to naturally "even out" results, which is a way to do it that is used pretty heavily in gaming nowadays. So ye, I have some more thoughts, but for now that's the short answer:) Generally, I believe there isn't any real research so far, showing that anything is out of ordinary, and I've seen a lot of "random results" that were perceived as patterns (just my life-long personal experience), so I'm always careful about making any serious conclusions without good data. It's interesting topic, that I might talk about more someday :)

Pretty much what Mariele said - you can do those things, but they do nothing if you are on the draw vs boros/mono red. So I usually go for more balanced builds
I mean it's a known thing that wotc cheats draws and matchups. Clearly you got to 51% win rate so the fun police had to be called to fuck you over like that.
Sloth is so good at magic, he does not need to attack with a single 7/7 token it is too small and not his win con!

People are notoriously bad at understanding or predicting the results of variance
