Still loving him. I wish some big wigs would recognize him for all he has given to the entertainment industry. Too many times, they wait until the great ones have passed. What good does it do then? I would love to thank him for always giving me a smile.
He is a grandfather, of great film and incredible humanity. He may not have left a bloodline, but he left a legacy that every child in the future will have a place in their heart for. His films are the ones which will never stopped being watched.
OMG!!! The voice is still there! !!! Tim, I hope you will read this because I want to thank you for all those days in the Klasky-Csupo recording studio which were the absolutely best days of my 40+ year animation career. And your Zimbo audition is still my favorite show biz story. (For all you other people, I'd auditioned over 100 actors for the trickster character, Zimbo, for "Aaahh Real Monsters" and no one could come even close to bringing him to life but Tim was in the studio for something else and we asked him to see what he could do. We told him about the character, showed him the sketches and then one of our animation directors, Igor Kovalyov, said "Teem, theenk Areenteenino geegiglo" and , instantly Tim came up with the funniest voice I'd ever heard and he was instantly cast as Zimbo.) The Zimbo character was so singular that our writers had great difficulty writing for him but Tim and Charlie Adler had so much fun adlibbing that Zimbo lived on. I tried to get a Zimbo series going but couldn't get the funding. Do you think, Tim, that you could still do the character? We should do it if we can. Got a lot of ideas....Hugs,Geraldine
Geetha Biltgen Anyone who has to recover from a stroke and pulls through it like he has is amazing in my eyes. I had to watch my Father learn to walk again after a bleed on his brain that caused paralyisis on the left side of his body. I can say that today my Dad can walk unaided and it makes my heart swell when I see others who are determinded to carry on and get better too. I feel proud and I don't even know him personally but I know the mental and physical strength it takes. Tim Curry is incredible and that's aside from the fact he is who he is. I wish I could tell him that! 💓 Excuse the lengthy comment I got a bit emotional :-).
I almost feel as if Tim Curry, David Bowie, Gary Numan and Siouxsie et al were more family than anyone I'm related to by blood, and the Rocky Horror Picture Show opened a passageway, a porthole into a different world, a place where a 14 year-old girl could escape from her continuous, exhausting battle with major depression back in 1981. There's something so special about that low-budget little musical, and the entire cast, really, but Tim Curry's presence in particular; I still get chills when I hear the first bass chords of the opening theme, and my heart skips a beat the second the close-up of that sparkling platform heel, tapping out a beat in the descending elevator, appears. I don't think I took a single breath until Dr. Frankenfurter strutted his way back to his grinning exit, and I knew that something had changed, that the rainbows and unicorns of my youth had been replaced forever by black and red and fishnet; I wanted to be a part of that little world, and I think that film, and Tim Curry, were my first true obsessions, passions...for the music, the style, the people, the feeling. I still struggle with the seemingly never-ending war with depression, to the point where some days it's hard to even get the energy to wet my toothbrush, but then I see the lovely Mr. Curry, singing this beautiful, sad song, with all of his heart, from his wheelchair...for me, for himself, for us, and there just aren't any words that could possibly express my gratitude. I love this man.
Auntie Depressant , I don't know if anyone else will reply to this, but I felt like I had to. Your story was so touching to me, and really hit home. We've got somewhat of an age difference I'm afraid- I'm 14 as we speak. I feel weird talking about my depression sometimes, because people honestly doubt someone so young could have something like depression. Trust me, I don't wanna believe it either. The times have changed and depression- mental illness, rather, in general- has become more of a normal thing, and more of an easy topic to approach. Kids however, (or at least the ones I've experienced) have become more ungrateful and possibly less wise, which is something I really like in a younger person. It seems as if humans have simply lost the desire to help each other- in a way- and turn their heads when faced with something unfamiliar or different than society's norm. The way you speak of Tim and David also hit home, for I think of them as family rather than celebrities. I so dearly wish I was born in a time where I was able to experience them at their prime, and be able to experience them with other people who loved them as much as I do. The harsh reality is; tons of people my age have no idea who Tim Curry or David Bowie even are. It's frustrating because when I talk about the impact they've had on my life, kids just kinda smile and nod as if to hint they're bored out of their minds and don't give a pile of cats about who these INCREDIBLE people are. When I first watched RHPS I was AMAZED because it was simply out of this world, and was so good at pushing boundaries to the breaking point. I recognized Tim from watching Home Alone 2: lost in New York, as a younger kid. The concept of a man being so feminine was foreign to me and so freaking amazing. Frank n Furter is such a flamboyant, proud, and somewhat sassy character, much like that of David's Ziggy Stardust persona, and I couldn't help but enjoy him during every appearance in the movie, and enjoy him in every aspect of his personality. Tim himself has come to be one of my favorite actors, and one of my most respected humans. One of my most respected humans along with David, John Lennon, Prince, and all the classics of course. Anyways, I just wanted to reply because your story felt so similar to mine and it's really hard to come across something so eerily accurate. I clicked on this video because, one, it's Tim freaking Curry, and two, watching him sing brings me so much joy. I must say I was not at all disappointed! Much respect, Olivia.

I...i just....i cannot begin to describe the beauty I felt reading that statement I love how you described the feeling! I don't have depression but I have never been able to accurately describe the feeling I get when that beautiful heel comes down and the music blares and your meaning is so deep and beautiful and personal and I love it. People often think having a personal connection to a movie is weird but I say it's weird if you don't somehow connect with the raw passion that is rocky horror and Tim in general and seeing him fighting is so inspiring keep it up you'll make it because you already are :) you're living and I admire it he's such a wonderful man to look up to! I didn't see RHPS until I was in my 40's; I found Mr. Curry incredibly sexy. Am now in my 60s, and have seen and heard a great deal of his work. I think he is a genius. I’m 42 years old. I grew up loving Tim Curry in stuff like Clue and Annie. Then in high school a friend of mine did a project on a cult movie I’d never heard of. Maybe you know it, Rocky Horror Picture Show lol. When I saw Tim in that role I absolutely fell in love and became obsessed lol. I’ve followed his career since and I’ve been a huge fan and supporter of all things Tim Curry old and new. I remember seeing “Dorothy” from the Golden Girls singing this song and I always remembered it. It’s so beautiful, sad and emotional. So hearing Tim singing it was all the more beautiful and emotional. I just absolutely love him so very much. I didn’t think I could love him more but when I found out he was friends with Freddie Mercury, my favorite human being in the world (favorite famous human being that is), I was blown away. Made me love him even more. I would have loved to have seen Tim and Freddie together!❤
I know, I know - I'm just being facetious. The thing is - of course you're going to be sad. A legendary actor known for his larger than life performances is no longer able to leap and stride about a stage or swing from the ceiling - but look at it this way - he's ALIVE. Not only is he alive - he is not merely existing - he is LIVING. Look at what you've just seen unfold in front of you - a man who had a huge stroke and we so nearly lost is back on stage doing what he loves and what he does best. He may have mobility issues now but he is still very much in control of his senses AND his talent. What is walking around when you are no longer the person on the inside you once were? He may have lost the use of some of his body - but that mind is still sharp and witty and full of love. Don't be sad. Celebrate life and soak up the inspiration of this video and Mr Curry.

I think of Bea Arthur singing this song in one of the Golden Girls episodes. And to see him sing it here in his state is just magical and i got quite emotional listening to it. Because it made me think of her being Bea. But also the condition that Tim is in after his major stroke. Oh Tim god bless you for ALL that you've done for the theater and movie industry. You never got the proper recognition in my humble opinion that you so rightfully deserve. But you'll ALWAYS remain one of my ALL TIME favorite actors a brilliant and gifted warm hearted soul. I think of Bea Arthur singing this song in one of the Golden Girls episodes. And to see him sing it here in his state is just magical and i got quite emotional listening to it. Because it made me think of her being Bea. But also the condition that Tim is in after his major stroke. Oh Tim god bless you for ALL that you've done for the theater and movie industry. You never got the proper recognition in my humble opinion that you so rightfully deserve. But you'll ALWAYS remain one of my ALL TIME favorite actors a brilliant and gifted warm hearted soul.
