It's the body dysmorphia. I went from 245 to 130 and still see the same 245 lbs person in the mirror. It sucks. It's a daily struggle. But Shane makes the most of it and fights those voices, which is the hardest part of body dysmorphia.

Same. But body dysmorphia is such a terrible and powerful thing... Ive watched him since like, 2009 or 2010 I think and I've seen at his skinniest, he still thought he was unattractive and fat. I hear him now say he talks to a therapist which is honestly the best thing because he knows no matter what he gains or loses the problem is in his mind.. I suffer from the same thing and it's a daily stuggle .

He’s honestly not fat. He recently gained weight because of quarantine but haven’t we all? I even have a healthy diet and do exercises and I still gained weight but I stopped caring and I hope he can get past that. Shane’s Mom is such a caring loving lady. She raised him as a single mom, not being as wealthy as they are now, supported him through his obesity and insecurity phase, supported him on coming out as bisexual, and so many other things. The great love for her son is so beautiful to me and she accepts him for everything that he is. Shes so sweet to all of his friends and Ryland as well

I feel the same way. It's honestly hard because I don't exactly like the things he did in the past, but neither does he. I mean he apologized years ago for most of the things that people are upset about now. And tbh what matters to me isn't so much the apology, but actually seeing change. Which we've seen with Shane. He no longer makes those jokes anymore, he's no longer a negative person. He's worked really hard to do better, and to be a better person. And to make positive content that he's proud of and that fans can be proud of too. I just think cancel culture exists to try and educate people so that they can change. So cancelling someone for things they've already apologized for and stopped doing is just ridiculous. And at that point, it's not to educate, and create growth, it's just a way for miserable people to tear another human being down.

Ellie, you took the words right out of my mouth. Acceptance, tolerance, celebrating each one's uniqueness - without judgement, shame, guilt or any of that. Sadly, too many people put down, judge and shame others to make themselves feel better, no matter how fleeting that may be. The consequences of that are enormous, both in terms of the psychological/emotional toll - *and* in terms of very real struggles in everyday living. These are the kinds of things that can lead to things like issues with sexuality, shutting one's self away from the world, failing to try to achieve dreams/aspirations, eating disorders, body dysmorphia... even taking one's life. This *is* very serious stuff.

i know Shane is cancelled but i still look back at videos like these and they really helped me. i felt like i was fat growing up and i still feel fat. i still constantly eat very little, i waist train, i struggle with finding clothes. even though i’m not as bad as i was little. my highest weight was 170 and i know it seems not bad, but i am 5’1 and i was like.. 12 years old being at my heaviest. i’m 145 and still 5’1 lol at the age of 18 and my weigh goes to my thighs and ass. but idk.. i still have the same feelings as Shane and sometimes it really does get my emotional. I enjoy these videos a lot.
update: i forgot i made this comment. i still very much feel insecure about my body but i work out a lot and i enjoy working out. i love to lift heavy and the gym is the place i feel the most loved on my body. :)

Shane inspired me to stay alive, because I was bullied for months this year for being, lesbian and on January 25th, 2020 it was my grandmas birthday, and I attempted to, take my life, I was hospitalized for, 3 days and the bullying didn’t stop so, I went to Shane’s channel and heard his story, and that is why I’m alive and confident, and when I see Shane caring for Ryland or Garret or Andrew, Morgan, anyone actually it makes my heart hurt, because he inspires me everyday to keep trying my best, and to stay alive, so thank you Shane even though you may never see this, you are my idol, so happy for your, and Rylands engagement!!! When Shane replaced Garrett with Jeffree,it all went downhill
Fr, I'm so sad because these videos with Garret, Ryland, Morgan, (Drew as well )and Andrew are the best and he really is himself. I watch these videos non-stop. Jeffree just turned him into someone else and I hate it, ever since all this drama has come back🙄I know there's gonna be people saying "you support a pedophile and racist", I support this Shane, the one where he didn't make content like that, it doesn't make it right that he ever did it but I enjoy his videos made in the last 2-3 years the most.

It was WILD to see the personality shift with Ryland and that fat suit and I don’t think it was fake or acting at all. He literally “became” fat, his voice was different, he got quiet.. he just seemed like uncomfortable. This got super real and I love the vulnerability of it all. All I could think of when you guys went into Target is how hysterical it would’ve been to see you all from afar... I’d be like what the hell is happening
