- Donald Trump's lawyers rested their case Tuesday in the criminal trial against the former president. Trump is accused of falsifying business records about payments to cover up an alleged sexual encounter with Stormy Daniels. Credibility issues are not just for Cohen and Daniels. It also matters if the jury thinks the defense is lying.
Putting up a witness who gets busted lying more than once in short order is not a good look, especially when it is the only witness they called.
