I love it, caves His chest in with a smashing elbow and says "Thank You for that"! lmao!! "Noooo, Thank you Master Wong, for putting my heart in my spine." Lol. Great Videos, as always.
Hey 师傅 Wang, I really like your straightforward and aggressive style. I noticed that in your videos with other martial arts masters you are in way better shape than a lot of them, who seemed to be out of breath after just a few demonstrations. I was hoping you could share some tips, or make a video showing how you stay in fighting shape. 谢谢您. P.S. No disrespect to the other martial arts masters, I'm sure they could all kick my teeth in lol
Eat healthy and work out, there's no secrets it's just most of us (especially Westerners) don't have enough discpline. If you want to build a similar frame I think calisthenics is a good direction, to get better you either have to lose weight or compensate by getting stronger.
Zachary Trujillo eat good food, get good nutrition, drink plenty of water, exercise and train hard. And get good sleep. It's as simple as that. Cut out as much process food if you can. i only drink water or green, chinese, herbal tea. But i will be looking to do some videos on my daily routine exercises and food in take.
All those who keep asking does wing chun do this? can wing chun do that in these circumstances? Look Wing Chun can do anything as long u keep it's principles. Wing chun is only limited by the way YOU use it and by YOUR limitations. Master Wong what are your thoughts?
javon player You also have to remember that Master Wong uses MODIFIED wing chun, not traditional, which typically use ANGLED footwork to get to the outside of the attacking arm, out of reach of the counter of your opponent. This is very important when trapping! Also, he doesn't trap the leg, so if the person tries to kick or move, you will sense it. This is why modified is inferior to traditional, besides other reasons.
No, that's not opinion, that is a FACT. Modified wc is missing key elements that make it work properly, like proper footwork (circle inside a triangle, which not only protects the groin, but places you on the outside of the attacking arm), proper way to close the distance or gap (depending on whether contact is made or not, you should close the distance until you are close enough to finish the fight), and the ten concepts, which dictate proper application of wing chun in a fight scenario. Without these, wing chun is stiff, rigid and predictable, and won't win against boxers, or muay thai guys who are experienced.
Hi! Great Sifu is awesome when you move through every single explanation because imitate real situations, it helps me to set right my movements, thank YOU Sifu Wong! :)
+mightymeatmonsta OK makes sense. Just read a wikipedia page about Wing Chun techniques and came across this move. I was really curious about it because I never heard or seen it and wanted to know more about it. Thank you for clarifying.
This is real martial arts instruction and the truth. Student from your school stand a better chance of survival on the streets. Awesome truth thanks for sharing
Sifu got a question can you advise. If you have a jiu jitsu grappler how would you defend..what I hears is wing chun has no ground work to get away. ..
Master Wong, if it's someone's first intercounter in a fight or someone just coming out of no where, how can you make one self be calm down there body and not be scare in a fight. I know is a natural cause to react neverves.
Charlie Tate There are no hooks in wing chun, Charlie. I dont' know who told you that. There are only four punches, the straight punch which comes from the center, the side punch, which comes from the shoulder into the center, the uppercut, which is, like all wing chun punches, short with the elbow behind the punch and rides up the center, and the cross, which is also a short, sharp punch with the elbow in behind the fist, and comes from the shoulder into the center, with the fist vertical. It uses joint alignment, like all the others, and a relaxed, then tensed, then relaxed movement, to generate chi and power.
Wing Chun becomes a mentality, almost a way of life after you practice it for a while. Of course it is a Martial art, however It seems to become part of you much more than other martial arts practiced for the same amount of time.
Charlie Tate you will find this on our self defence course. here is a link to get 58% off www.udemy.com/wing-chun-sil-lim-tao-module-2-know-your-enemy/?couponCode=WingChuMasterWeb
Master Jroc ChiNinja Absolutely, Master Jroc! If you train properly, and at full speed and force, using proper footwork and the proper way to close the distance, using angled footwork and a body rotation square to your opponent, there is no reason why it shouldn't work! As long as it is a SIMPLE trap, not a compound, or multiple one, it should work for you. Remember, the more skilled your opponent, the LESS likely a compound or multiple trap will work for you.
***** For sure my friend, but when you are trapping an opponent you dont stop.. you have to be ten moves ahead at all times, so as soon as i bong sao i lap sao and so forth, for example.. i grab the oponent left rist with my left hand as i back fist with my right fist rolling over top of his arm not releasing his left arm he pulls back as i stick not giving him the distance he wants i roll over top of his left arm with back fist and say he stops it with his right hand.. i immediately grab his right rist with my right hand pulling it down to his other arm causing the trap as i immediately hit with my left fist in this moment its very hard for him to stop this blow but say that hes lucky and does.. i got ten more traps and hits behind that, with persicion and speed.. never end so soon in the midst of your commitment and never commit unless you know for sure your going to make it count, waste no time and energy and when you strike make it count.. and the only time another opponent would even have a chance againts a wing chun fighter is if they do Wing Chun also.. theres not hardly another style that can stop a wing chun master and Master Wong for Example he is a force to be reckoned with, he is a all out dominator in this field.. that man grabs hold of you theres really no escape and not much the other figher can do, he will stick to apponent and all the other guys gonna do is try to escape, the reason i believe Wing Chun JKD Thai Chi are the leading styles in all fighting is because it works againts everything.. with these skills ive beat muay thai fighters masters in Aikido kick boxing mantis boxers karate masters street fighters.. multible attackers 8 at one t time in less than 2 minutes unscaved Navy Seals Army Police Wrestlers Jujitsu.. and even wrestlers ive submitted standing up they never not once have been able to get me to the ground cause as soon as they touch me or make contact i send them through orbit or ill grab them in such a painful way they tap standing.. they try to break my leg i break there leg so bad so fast it breaks there mothers leg... when my apponent contracts i expand and when my opponent expands i contract. You have to consintrate 100% in your punches trapping and techniques and when you are kicking a bag or slapping up on a wing chun dummy you have to imagine you are really hitting a advisary and its the only way your going to be good... Speed with these skills is unbeatable and i know cause i am a 9TH DAN IN WADO STYLE KARATE AND A JKD AND WING CHUN PRACTITIONER... And from not losing 1 fight out of 200 ive been in street and tournement since i became a wing chun fighter i am convinced of it and have total faith in The most awesome art ever created thinks to NG MUI who later passed this art to Yim WING CHUN... IT IS THE BEST AND IN MY OPINION THERES NO EQUAL
That is correct, Master Jroc, you always would like to control one hand at least, and both of them is ideal and is possible if he tries to hit you again, and you trap it on top of the other, leaving him totally helpless. Wow, you're like me, you really like to write, don't you? LOL! Very in depth, Master! Yes, I believe also that wing chun IS the best system out there. Only one thing though. Ng Mui DID NOT EXIST and neither did Wing Chun. They were just made up as a rouse to throw the Manchurian government off the track of the new Shaolin temple after the old one burned to the ground. Wing chun was developed by the five elders of the Shaolin temple and consists of the five systems, white crane, white eyebrow, hung gar, choy li fut and shaolin. It was developed using the best of these systems, and created to be learned much quicker than others (It takes 5 to 8 years to master, as opposed to 20 for shaolin) and is much more effective and efficient.
If you can show us the correct foot work/stance in a real fight as opposed to the traditional pigeon toed stance taught in the forms e.t.c. this would be very useful to us..
Master Wong, When searching for a proper school to learn Wing Chun what should i look for? I live in Wisconsin and I am interested in expanding my martial art knowledge.
Esai CMB First off, you try not to let the guy get a hold of you. if he does, you only have a millisecond to respond to his attack. There is what is called, an anti-takedown technique in wing chun. How it works is when the person grabs you, depending on what side his head is on, you grab that arm (If he is on the right side of you, you grab his left arm), and rotate your body in the direction of the head and arm. Because he is overcommitted in his response, he has all his weight forward on the lead leg or legs. The twisting motion, which is very similar to a judo throw, uses his forward momentum and this overcommitment to throw the person down. Remember to ALWAYS keep hold of the hand that the side of the head is on (If it is the left hand you will be turning right). You want to control at least one arm. You should toss him down at this point. Remaining STRAIGHT UP AND DOWN, and without LEANING OVER (If you lean over, he may pull you down on top of him and that means your advantage goes out the window. Also, if he tries to kick or knee you, you won't be able to see it coming and stop it in your peripheral vision because the angle is too steep), and maintaining control of the one arm, you may use whatever techniques at this point to end the fight. If he tries to attack with the other arm, then you can pin that arm also, controlling BOTH arms (this is ideal, but very rarely happens in a real fight), leaving him helpless against your attack.
Esai CMB Look for a traditional school. That may be difficult in Wisconsin, but usually there are signs that give it away. Do they know the ten concepts? Do they used angled footwork, using the circle inside a triangle, instead of straight in (THIS is a big giveaway that it is modified, not traditional. Modified uses linear footwork)? Do they know about PROPERLY CLOSING THE DISTANCE using initial contact? Do they concentrate on forms? Do they spar, and if they spar, do they spar against OTHER SYSTEMS also? Also ask them how long it will take to start sparring. If they say three months, then LEAVE IMMEDIATELY because that school is just a scam! You shouldn't spar for at least 2 to 3 years AFTER learning the basic forms, (sil lum tao, and chum kiu, at least), basic footwork, single and double-hand chi sao. If you cannot find a traditional school, then by watching, participating in one lesson (it's usually free) and asking some questions, like the ones above, you can find out which ones suit you best. ALSO, GO ONLINE AND CHECK THE CREDENTIALS AND LINEAGE OF THE SCHOOL! THIS IS CRUCIAL! IF YOU ARE LEFT WITH JUST MODIFIED SCHOOLS, THEN WONG SHUN LEUNGS' LINEAGE IS THE BEST! IF YOU CAN'T FIND THAT LINEAGE, THEN MOY YAT IS MUCH MUCH BETTER THAN LEUNG TING'S LINEAGE! LEUNG TING IS A GIANT FRAUD, AND A SHYSTER! ASK THE STUDENTS WHAT THEY THINK AND IF THEY HAD EVER GOTTEN IN ANY FIGHTS WITH THAT SYSTEM AND HOW IT TURNED OUT. I would RECOMMEND you learn the ten concepts. The ten concepts are the guideline to the proper application of wing chun in a fight or self defense scenario, and is also the guideline to what is traditional and useful in wing chun. If it falls under the edicts of wing chun's ten concepts, use it. If not, discard it, for it is not wing chun and of any use to you. If you like, i have a little dissertation I did on the ten concepts, called Wing Chun's ten basic concepts and their use. It will explain what they are and how they are used in a fight or self defense situation. I also would recommend you do tutorials (chinaboxer is the best for beginners), read books and watch videos, again, using the ten concepts as your guideline. This will help you to understand the deeper meaning of wing chun, and it's nuances and subtleties. This will not only help you to become a better fighter, but a better teacher also, since it allows you to explain the inner workings of wing chun in a manner that even a BEGINNER can understand. But in the meantime, while you wait, LEARN THE FIRST FORM, SIL LUM TAO. Do the form slowly, making sure you have the center line, stopping to check your stance (make sure your toes are in, HIPS ARE PULLED IN, and your knees are pulled in, and your not raising up in the stance), and check your technique form, to make sure it is correct. Also, after about six months, when doing the form, STOP after every technique to focus for one second on RELAXING the body, which is also crucial in wing chun. Do the form TEN TIMES A DAY FOR A WHOLE YEAR, and it will be in muscle memory, and you will be assured that you will do the techniques correctly. When finishing the form, DON'T close the stance, but stay in it. This will strengthen your legs (It takes about half an hour). Then move on to chum kiu, doing the same. Learn the form, doing it slowly at first, checking your stance and footwork, making sure you are solid in the stance, not lifting up. Check your technique form and APPLICATION (that was chum kiu is for, it is applying the techniques), also checking your footwork to make sure you are steady and checking to make sure your techniques have the center line. In the second year, do BOTH forms ten times a night for a WHOLE YEAR (it should take about one hour), and again, you will be assured that you will be able to do the techniques MOVING, and remain relaxed and balanced. This will give you the proper foundation to start learning wing chun and will help accelerate your learning. Good luck finding a school, and if you have any questions, feel free to ask. Train hard, train smart, Vinny
Activate the subtitles. lol Hes talking so fast, and in such a difficult way that RUclips can´t change the audio in good understandable subtitles!! XD lol
MonkaDeBaw You do that through breaking of the structure of your opponent. This is done through the initial contact made, and when you intercept his attack, CLOSE TO YOUR HEAD! Don't intercept it out further than that because that allows your opponent to release contact and attack again (Think of it as a gun being reloaded over and over again). By catching the attack close to the head or body, you allow your opponent to overextend and overcommit his response, which means, he will turn his body past his own centerline and put most or all of his weight on the front leg, which allows you to pull him forward, breaking his structure (his stance), causing him to make an opening in his defenses you can exploit. From here, you can attack his opening, finishing the fight, either when the opening occurs, or when contact is released.
Can wing chung work in a ground fight? For example a bigger and faster opponent rushes and take you to the ground can you use the same principles in your videos to survive and fight back
EpicHeros69 Yes, it can. Wing chun has grappling, called biujitsu, which is made specifically for the streets. But there are also anti-takedown moves you can use that allow you to deflect the attack, and in essence, using the opponent's leverage and weight against him, throw him to the ground, maintaining contact with one hand, staying straight up and down (because if you lean over him, he can pull you down on top of him and then your advantage goes right out the window. Plus, if he tries to kick or knee you, you won't be able to see it in your peripheral vision because the angle is too steep), finishing the fight.
Well, he DOES know how to fight better than most modified guys do. Most of them are stiff, rigid, drag their feet, have a stance that is too close together, and don't spar against other systems. He does, and he knows how to use his wing chun in the streets, even if it is modified and has OTHER systems added to it (which, by the way, I disapprove of). You can still learn from him, as long as you follow the edicts of the ten concepts to what is traditional (some of his moves fall within the guidelines of the ten concepts, though overall he is modified)and what isn't. It is better to learn from as many teachers as possible because not one teacher knows all their is to know about wing chun's nuances and subtleties. Even Grandmaster Cheung doesn't. So this is why I push tutorials, videos and books and I go to many different wing chun pages.
Aung Kaung Myat The golden rule here, is to avoid all fights if possible especially if the guy has weapons or friends to back him up. If you can run away or defuse the situation then do it. It's not worth getting into a real fight cause the guy may bring out a hidden hand knife and stabbed u repeatedly. only fight when u are really cornered.
***** Well that is all-well-and-good, but what if you CAN'T run away and have to fight? Then what? No, you need to practice knife attacks with a rubber knife. The rule of thumb is to try to deflect the knife arm away from you then attack the person HOLDING the knife, until he is no longer a threat. Some attack the hand or knife, but that is VERY DANGEROUS and increases your chances of getting cut or stabbed. Even if you have two hands on the knife hand, controlling it, he still has a free hand to attack you with, along with two legs. By deflecting the knife AWAY from your body, and maintaining contact with the knife arm, you can, with practice, sense his next move with that arm. You also need to step in, on an angle, so you are out of range of his OTHER hand, which is free. In the meantime, you attack the person holding the knife, brutally and non-stop, until he can no longer attack you.
Why? It has nothing to do with his martial arts skills and everything to do with his shiny head. His head would be like shining a laser into the cockpit of an airplane. It would not only blind the pilot and co-pilot, but probably scare the shit out of them!
Master Wong: "OK lets go over your lines today."
Other Guy: "Mhhmh, mmmhhmmm, mmhm."
Master Wong: "Perfect"
I love it, caves His chest in with a smashing elbow and says "Thank You for that"! lmao!! "Noooo, Thank you Master Wong, for putting my heart in my spine." Lol. Great Videos, as always.
This is a credible demonstration of a defensive fight during an attack. Thank you.
Your demonstrating partner is a very good UKE, he doesn't stand there like a dummy, he shoes what happens with conviction. Good!
Thanks Master Wong!
Keep on rockin like this!
Thank you for showing realistic situational street fighting methods and not song and dance. I look forward to more lessons.
artdog0100 still more to come! ;)

Charlie Tate There are no hooks in wing chun, Charlie. I dont' know who told you that. What kicks work in ah Street Fight and when is the right time to throw them?
+Khadan Music that will depends on you and your opponent.

Hey master Wong can u leave some notes at the end of your videos pls it helps hem remember better
Rahmat Ullah what kind of notes do you mean?
I mean like at the end of ur videos give me some notes of wat u did like a summaries it for ur videos
Wing Chun Tai Chi JKD - Master Wong He means a WRITTEN SUMMARY of what you taught in that lesson, Master Wong, in writing at the end of the video.
So stupid mighty meat monsta
I was explain it to HIM so HE could understand! I know YOU UNDERSTAND!
I like it lol!
can you take on four people in a street fight with weapons
How to defend high And low kicks
two words: sweeping knee

Master Wong how can i break someone's guard
MonkaDeBaw Offline him.
For example a bigger and faster opponent rushes and take you to the ground can you use the same principles in your videos to survive and fight back
EpicHeros69 Once you're on the ground, your Wing Chun in the bin.
Plus, if he tries to kick or knee you, you won't be able to see it in your peripheral vision because the angle is too steep), finishing the fight.
aqualinknun You're an idiot!
***** If you are anti-modified WC, why are you on this channel?
That man likes to groan a lot doesn't he?
***** He's grunting, not groaning :P
Master Wong.....how to defense yourself if your opponent uses weapons?
It depends what kind of weapon
Aung Kaung Myat The golden rule here, is to avoid all fights if possible especially if the guy has weapons or friends to back him up. If you can run away or defuse the situation then do it. It's not worth getting into a real fight cause the guy may bring out a hidden hand knife and stabbed u repeatedly. only fight when u are really cornered.
***** you Are right, spot on :-) so true
Aung Kaung Myat Take off your jacket and try to trap the weapon by cloaking it
***** Well that is all-well-and-good, but what if you CAN'T run away and have to fight? In the meantime, you attack the person holding the knife, brutally and non-stop, until he can no longer attack you.

hahahahahah bap bap bap thank you for that!
Masta mutha fuka WONG!...the global sensei...come to California dude
Don't refer to him like that. He wil bust u up if u called him that in real life.
madju85 Master Wong can't go to Cali... he'd blind someone with the reflectiveness of his shiny head... no need for biu jee ;)
aqualinknun Don't forget the pilots he will blind with his shiny head!
na in" real life" javon don't think so, that would be out of character of a martial artist like his self.
Why? It has nothing to do with his martial arts skills and everything to do with his shiny head. His head would be like shining a laser into the cockpit of an airplane. It would not only blind the pilot and co-pilot, but probably scare the shit out of them!
And you lost your face!
With all due respect, to many internet masters and 0 fights, were are your fights??? were is at least an sparring video
