Coolest fighting game ever. Not the best - but certainly the coolest. I'd sell my soul for a remake/reboot complete with the classic 80/90's campy vibe and everything.
hijong park 3 is light years better, than 1 or 2. 1 is a Virtua Fighter Clone, with its own style, but by 3, it was t the same game, as far as graphics and gameplay.

When I just stumbled across this intro I could remember EVERY DETAIL - this intro and the game itself were just outstanding and a great game for that time. Really nice, this just unlocked so many memories

I love this game as a kid. I had part one and part 3. I overly played it and I would ALWAYS pick "VEIL". I played so much, I knew all the combos. "SAY YOUR PRAYERS!!!" "ON YOUR KNEES!!!!" Those catchphrases are forever embedded in my head.
The lady with the off-shoulder kimono was one of my favorite characters along with her Catwoman counterpart. I remember every main character had a counterpart with an almost exact fighting style, even down to some of the button combos.
If you played this then you played Bushido Blade 2 as well THE PEAK BRO😤 damn I couldn’t remember the name of either for so long lol but I definitely remembered David😂 hard to forget a dude in an overcoat using a chainsaw like a sword🔥
They need to come back with Toshinden !!! Its got tons of potential, needs just good production. I love it since ever and never forgotten about it. For me the big 3 is Toshinden, Tekken and Soul series. And Toshinden is the original !

It was around 2010 that I was shocked to find Final Fantasy 8 had an original PC release at around the turn of the millennium (not to mention FF7's PC release in '98). Since then I found lots of random Playstation games had PC ports (and the other way around[1]) way back in the day. [1] If you've ever played the original Command & Conquer or Red Alert on DOS or Windows 95/98.... They both had Playstation ports in the 90's that were Very Playable. 3D Realms' Duke Nukem 3D is another good example.

Never mind Taki's fully animated Chesticular motions almost poking out of the TV. Noooooo that's not nudity, She's wearing a skintight red ninja-suit, you see. And those _Aren't_ her nipples! That's just artifacts of the TV's scan-lines.
Some character that was either a mock or a tribute to him. Can't remember if there was crouch grabbing but there was plenty of moon walking and "he! he!" going on :P
The last song in the last part of the intro reminds me of a prototypical Tom Brady fourth quarter comeback in the fourth quarter of a football game when the chips are down!
I love the way this game put faction against faction. Instead of people fighting their own allies for no reason. You had one group that was clearly against the other and the game play reflected that. It was one of the underappreciated aspects I feel. But then again I've only ever met one person that's played the game.
I still hope to this day, that Toshinden will make a comeback by getting a Remake.... that would be so cool. Make it a Remake like Soul Calibur 6, where you have characters of BAT 1-3 in it but the story of Toshinden 1 and 2!

They should bring back the same characters from the first two toshinden games such as Eiji, Kayin, Sofia, Rungo, Fo, Mondo, Duke, Ellis, Gaia, Sho, Tracy and Chaos and bring it bang up to date and make it similar to Soul Calibur 6.
why did this game series lost popularity?.. against tekken?.. back then the fight between psx fighting games was between tekken and battle arena toshinden .. WHY and where did B.A.T start to lose?
ikr, We had much more fun with Battle Arena Toshinden than we did with the 1st Tekken, but unfortunately B.A.T's quality wasn't keeping up with Tekkens, so by 3 and then 4 B.A.T had pretty much lost the battle.

This franchise has cool character designs and some of the best video game music ever, only thing is needed was good gameplay :( The gameboy version is awesome and underrated because it has good gameplay and music with only 2 buttons for attacks so it's simplified compared to the 3D games

I Really like this opening...the part when return to Eiji and Vermilion fight, and Kayin picking his sword, is an awesome soundtrack
