One thing that no one ever talks about is the sound chip which is noticeable pronounced when first booting up the ps1. These tracks sound amazing as an original release title that still hold up today!
Labrecteck I agree. I haven’t looked at the specs, but the sound chip in the PS1 performed really well overall. However, the background music for Battle Arena Toshinden is coming from CDDA tracks on the game disc. Track 1 is the game data, and everything from track 2 and up is CDDA that can be played in an ordinary CD player. So the sound chip has very little to do with the music in this game. The sound chip is generating all the sound effects which is being mixed together with the CDDA inside the console as you play the game.
I pick Battle Arena Toshinden over soul caliber anytime! Ivy is based on Sofia and Nightmare is based on Gaia, without Battle Arena Toshinden there would be no soul caliber
