Use mosselman thermostat for N54. Perfect solution for temp issues, use CSF oil cooler that is 30% better than oem and fits in oem housing. These 2 things are the perfect combination without you needing to smash your head for aftermarket parts.
I'm in a hot climate myself. AZ to be exact. Temps can be well above 115° and above. Liqui Moly helped me to lower my oil temps up to 30° lower than the BMW dealer oil. I run Liqui Moly 5w-40 and am pleased. Runs alot cooler for a longer period of time.
I can second that lower temp thing. I just switched over a month ago and my temps are lower too. I only noticed it the last two weeks since it has been in the mid/upper 90s here in Virginia. Well worth the price when you get it from fcp!
@ZeroTo60 when is the last time you cleaned the two map sensors. One of them is on the intake manifold the other is on the charge pipe. Just cleaned mine today with a bit of cleaner and to my surprise the oscillation in A.F.R.s I was having went away., they were pretty gunned up with oil. Afterwards I reset lambada adaptions while car was in ignition on car off. Just my 2 cents.
I'm having cylinder 2 and 6 with really black foul spark plugs around the tip area with less than 500 miles after replacing new. Ngk 2 steps colder were the plugs. Can a leaky fuel injector causing this? Injectors are all original stock index 10.
where did you get that gasket? from bmw you have t buy the whole cooler and they make an after market cap with a gasket but can't find the gasket by itself
Your guy needs to work with some one in the states to sell those gaskets. The post to here is more than the gasket! I'm still going to get one but I see a big market for em here in the states
Just spoke to matt, he is very low on stock, so paused the listing. He is looking to get more made. If you are in a pickle shoot him a message on that listing.
Yep ,I was looking for this gasket at realoem.com, but couldn't find it. Unfortunately, it's AU $30 shipping to the Netherlands. Has to be a very expensive envelope :0 . Dutch regards Nico.
I didn’t even know about this gasket thanks for the heads up 🙏🏻

10:30 - when he used Viton (silicone) like he mentions in the auction, I can see the price of the gasket
that material is expensive - but GOOD
Thanks for the tip on Matt's gasket. I just purchased a pair of 'em for spares!
No problem 👍

Me too. Idk why Liquimoly gets so much hate. I use the green bottle 5w 40 and have had no problems at 110k. Knock on wood

The simple jobs are always satisfying to watch 😁

I wonder if it will eventually leak from that e-torx bolt that was temporarily removed
The link to Matt's gasket doesn't appear to work. Is there a new one you can provide?
He doesnt actually have any the moment unfortunately.

Agreed. Why $30 AUD to ship essentially an item that easily fits in a first class letter?
Love you guys
I don't see the logs listed.
Sorry its late..... be a bit snowed under. datazap.me/u/zeroto60tube/dct-msd81-dialing?log=0&data=1-4
Matt's ebay listing is no longer up. Anyone have another source for this gasket?

Whats the best oil to use in Perth’s climate bud?😂😂. We got bloody summer coming up.
Castrol 10w60 Supercar is the oil i have seen protect the engines the best.
@@ZeroTo60Tube is that good for viv 19Ts V4 high boost applications?
@@TCGTV98 Any n54 that you want to protect the rod bearings in, I have also seen that oil help cam ledge issues.
You would be using Castrol 5w-40 every 5000 kms
I’ve switched to the m3/m4 oil.
@@ZeroTo60Tube 60 weight?
