I feel you I modded my PS2 just so I could play the game in normal speed. It's not just that it was slow but it also had de-synced audio which is even worse.
just a heads up for emulator; pcsx2 renders a little weird pixel line around the edges of the screen sometimes so if u want to get the best quality on these uploads, set the zoom to 102% in pcsx2 or zoom the videos in just a tad to avoid that little line
@גל פרץ Nice! This looks much better, thanks a lot. One thing I noticed playing through is that doors generally don't appear on the minimap for some reason. Is this a known issue emulating DDS2? It could be annoying when navigating dungeons
@גל פרץ Doesn't happen in software mode, no This is my config: i.imgur.com/qYQURF7.jpg EDIT: nvm, I've been playing around and it seemed to be the Accurate Date settings that were causing this.
@@aly5513 So final party is looking to be Seraph Cielo Gale. Argilla and Roland are kind of irrelevant because they're absent when you have access to the best grind spot. Seraph will go force to start with because it leads to Mind Charge, which will be absolutely necessary for Charge/Debilitate combos. Will also need to go fully earth because Titanomachia is the best realistic attacking option v. Satan. Cielo is the buffman as in the first game, he will just rush to get Rakukaja ASAP. Gale will be spending the Satan battle in human form so doesn't matter too much, before that I will probably go the elec path (good attacking element for most bosses) and grab a couple debuffs. All 3 will need Life Surge, which is the most time consuming and expensive grind (unless I need to get Salvation). BTW I much prefer the mantra grid in this game, at least for these purposes. I see people rag on it but it feels way more efficient, in DDS1 I had to progress through more unnecessary skills to get the stuff I wanted.
Jim Reaper ah okay Also I love this mantra grid SO Much more than the last one as you can constantly go from good skills to very good skills ( e.g Zionga to Mediarama or buffs to good earth spells). It’s just way better
So, is the Field Hunt refresh exactly 5 Solar Data cycles? Also, does a higher Hunt score/rank in field hunts increase the AP gained even if all mitamas run away? On a related note, I feel like Atma Bonus/Premium might apply to AP gained in any way, even when mitamas run away...but I'm not quite certain...
Best setup for Satan is to run Seraph, Cielo and then Argilla as a human, with Gale in stock as a backup with his fire move from answering questions in DDS1 correctly. Build him as a fire user, build Cielo as an earth user and build Seraph as an almighty user. You then have Heat or Roland grind you out all your Incenses for your party members and bench him for the actual low level boss fights. There's several reasons for this, mostly you having no weaknesses Satan can abuse but there's also the ability to end his turn when he uses Mahamaon and Gale is a better backup than Heat or Roland because with his exclusive fire move he outdamages Heat and Roland. You use earth on Cielo because it's the element that Satan repels the least times in his rotation, making it superior to the other elements. Alternatively you could try your luck at crits and the Impel Stone and try to kill Satan with physical moves like Divine Light, Ragnarok and Chatarubja by doing 15,000+ damage in 1 turn so you skip his Phase 2 and 3 but I don't think that'd be doable low level - maybe it is though! I'm glad to see you're on this game - I don't recall there being a free hunt spot in the final dungeon though so you might end up being in trouble there...maybe I'm just misremembering though
AFAIK you're right about field hunts, all my grinding has to be done pre-Sun. For Satan I'm using Gale over Argilla. Argilla and Roland are basically junk characters because they leave the party before any half decent grind spots. This means only Seraph, Cielo and Gale can get Life Gain/Surge without multiplying the grind tenfold. I will probably need to buff their magic with Data anyways so they can survive, so it doesn't matter too much who the human character is. They just need as much HP as possible. I think you're overestimating how much I'm willing to grind - all those skills cost millions to reach. Plus physical attacks just aren't worth it because I have no points to invest in Seraph's strength. Everything is going into magic and vit. It's gonna be a slow fight with Mind Charge Titanomachias from Seraph alone taking him out. I'll make up for the lack of Divine Light with combo Debilitate.
I mean outside of attempting to cheese him and skipping phase 2 and 3 there's no point in trying to use Phys against Satan like at all, so yeah magic all the way! Are there any combo moved that do more damage than Titanomachia other than Black Sun (which obviously isn't viable)? I remember there being some neat stuff but they were bad for Satan as they dropped stats on hit so it'd make Satan use Dekunda if you used them, but I might be forgetting something I recall Argilla being optimal gun user because she has sniper rifles so you're doing more damage with gunshot pokes as you hope for crits - what does Gale use again? I don't think I've ever transformed him out of demon mode so I wouldn't know...if it's something trash like Cielo's SMG then you might want to consider using Argilla anyway lol
@@lefthandedscout9923 Gale's gun is pretty bad, whoever's there they're just gonna be passing or throwing healing items the entire time. That +60% HP from passives is too big to miss out on in my book. It doesn't look like there are any useful combo options, and the character who could best use them (Cielo w/ Synchro Ring) will likely be dead on the turn I go for the kill (he seems like the best character to take Retribution) Do you know how Satan's Dekunda is scripted? I know he doesn't use it that often, but I can't remember - does he only use it when he hits -3?
When he hits -3 on any stat he pops it even if his other stats aren't debuffed at all - he uses it after Temptation, Retribution or Dekaja if he was supposed to use them on the turn but also wants to Dekunda
@@lefthandedscout9923 Noted. Dekaja/Dekunda on the same turn gives me the fear. I think it'll take quite a few attempts, but probably (hopefully!) less than Demi-fiend. Thanks for your contributions here btw.
Question, did you consider using Divine Light against Satan instead of Titanomachia? Can you get enough strength without feeling like it's too much noise abuse? Will you have to grind noises like in DDS1?
Combination of too much noise abuse and too much money. The only way to get money without XP is by panicking enemies. Every really high level mantra (of cost 1.5mil+) adds many hours onto the grind, and noises also take forever to grind (the only way to get most of them in this is to savescum golden boxes which cost $100k a pop). Even so, Magic and Vital Noises will definitely be necessary for Satan but hopefully no more. I actually think the rest of the game can be beaten with no noises at all and will attempt to do so (Vishnu will be an RNG crapshoot though)
@@JimReaperSaysUnsubscribe I see. Just getting to fight Vishnu and Shiva looks really painful tbh. Isn't Vishnu like really predictable though? I remember Shiva being harder with changing affinities, and his cycle has more than the 4 turns of Satan. And gamefaqs got the affinities for Shiva wrong IIRC.
@@Astralevin Yeah, I'll definitely need a lucky attempt on those fights. I've seen them done in the low-mid 60s, with similar HP pools to what I'm expecting to have (the gang will be mid 40s but with Life Surge+Gain) so it's definitely doable. Seth is scarier, in fact now I think about it he will almost definitely require vit noises too.
Uh is this a good method of grinding even for casual runs on hard mode? Or is it better just to grind at the sun? Casual player here wants to know, im a beginner at dds2, and i kind of dislike its lack of good grinding areas.
It wouldn't be for Samarecarm itself. Samarecarm combos with Mediarahan for a spell that is Prayer + revive on the whole party. And with the synchro ring this would take just 1 press turn. However I'm not sure how viable this is because I don't know if all the combo participants need to be free of status effects like charm/panic or just the one who initiates it. Teaching characters Salvation is not appealing though, it would take forever to grind the AP and money required.
I genuinely have no idea how I tolerated the DDS1 grinding on console... and locked into 50 hz no less.
I would always look at heats ass to chill. But yeah, looking back on it, its horrendous. Hitoshura was also a cool objective to work towards.

As someone who's almost 100% DDS1 except for demi-fiend, it is extremely tedious.
how do you get your emulator to not crash
How you do it?
Oh please atlus hd remaster this as well so I can download it from steam

Never played this game so haven't a clue what's going on here 😁
