That’s a recipe for disaster for any child’s development, and will create lifelong issues, as we see in Ryan. When a child or teen does something wrong, they need to be held accountable and need discipline. They need to understand early in life that bad choices have consequences. When you constantly let your child by with bad behavior and make excuses for them, they turn out exactly like Ryan. Even still, as a grown adult man with children of his own, they constantly make excuses for him and ignore his horrific behavior. Instead of directing frustration and anger at Ryan for the bad decisions he has made in life, and continues to make, time and time again they direct that frustration and blame towards Maci, when all Maci has ever done is try to protect her son from RYAN’s own actions. Ryan is the only person they should be directing those negative feelings towards, but nevertheless they continue enabling his behavior and making excuse after excuse on his behalf. It’s not at all a mystery how Ryan ended up the way he is, and why he has pretty slim odds of ever changing who he is as a person. I’ve been a single parent since my son was 3 days old. His mother walked out choosing drugs over her child. He’s 2 now and doesn’t even recognize his mother in photos or court dates. Maci has always been a favorite Teen Mom, who knows what her situation is behind closed doors. But I can only imagine we’re on the same boat. My son will eventually reach Bentley’s age, and he will have a say in regards to having any relationship with his mother. I applaud Maci for giving Bentley that freedom of choice

It's a show they signed up for about sharing their lives. This isn't exposure. I'm sure Maci asks Benny if it's okay to share his life. It's obvious she does. I absolutely agree. I could never do that to my kids. I know exactly what it feels like. Both of my parents were addicts and in and out of my life. As a child I would never want the general public to watch me struggle through that as a kid... And I don't think my adoptive parent would have ever allowed it either.
In my opinion, Maci is a great mother. She is giving Bentley the power and the autonomy to make his own decisions in regards to spending time with his biological father, which I think is an amazing thing. I haven't watched this show in a long time so seeing Bentley so grown up and be so mature is making me tear up. Maci is a really good mum and is raising Bentley to be a great (future) man too. Even when she was pregnant with him, there was always a maturity about her that was beyond her years and I'm glad to see that Bentley got that also.
All shows like this are really awful these kids have been being filmed since they were born. Babies can’t give consent to have their lives filmed and be exploited

As a kid, Bentley should be able to talk about his feelings and having privacy. Maci putting his business out there with what the therapist said? That was not right at all. I say this as a grown adult who went to therapy as a kid. I would have been livid if my mom talked to my therapist and revealed things I said in private and made it public.

@@Readingindarknesss well this isn't a perfect world. Being a parent is a difficult job and one learns as they go. Don't get me wrong the drama entertains me as well but at some point. I do think Maci & Chey are better at it than the other cast members.

I can see that Bentley's relationship with his dad isn't great, because when Maci was talking to him, she referred to him as "Ryan" instead of "your dad".

I remember being like 11 when Bentley was born on 16 and pregnant and I can’t believe he’s almost a teenager omg. Time flies so fast. I wanna tell these kids to enjoy their teen years because I miss my childhood lol. I’m turning 23 this year :(

I like Maci, but I cannot ignore the look on her face when he said he wanted to go. I don’t think his issues with his dad needs to be aired all over tv. That is not how mother protects their child. He has no form of privacy and this isn’t his choice.

I absolutely agree. I could never do that to my kids. I know exactly what it feels like. Both of my parents were addicts and in and out of my life. As a child I would never want the general public to watch me struggle through that as a kid... And I don't think my adoptive parent would have ever allowed it either.

In my opinion, Maci is a great mother. She is giving Bentley the power and the autonomy to make his own decisions in regards to spending time with his biological father, which I think is an amazing thing. Bentley is getting to the age where he’s old enough to understand what’s going on and old enough to decide who he is wanting to spend time with. Good on you Maci and keep doing what you’re doing! ❤️

I haven't watched this show in a long time so seeing Bentley so grown up and be so mature is making me tear up. Maci is a really good mum and is raising Bentley to be a great (future) man too. Even when she was pregnant with him, there was always a maturity about her that was beyond her years and I'm glad to see that Bentley got that also.

I was scrolling thru the timeline and this video caught my attention......because i remember maci when she first had Bentley and now hes that big....crazy i remember them especially......made me feel old 😂😂....glad to see they are doing well

I don’t watch this show anymore but I can’t believe how big Benny has gotten. I could cry! He reminds me of my godbrother even though B would be older. He is such a sweet, smart young man and Maci and others have done such a phenomenal job. I’ll keep him in prayer.

As a kid, Bentley should be able to talk about his feelings and having privacy. Maci putting his business out there with what the therapist said? That was not right at all. I say this as a grown adult who went to therapy as a kid. I would have been livid if my mom talked to my therapist and revealed things I said in private and made it public.
I feel that Bentley did it more for his younger sibilings then for his father...eather way he is an amaizng kid.
