Excellent and timely playthrough. Watching this will make the rules read that much easier. I enjoy all of Simonitch's 194X series. Really liked how you inserted the highlighted odds chart, dice roll & other charts info into the video for added clarity. Great work and thank you for your time to do this.
27:56 mistake in calculating your Attack strength. When you attack the same hex from multiple directions, you have to define which of your hexes is going to be the Main assault force (MAF). MAF will have its Attack Strength at full and your auxiliary forces will have their Attack strength halved. So in this particular case it's not 3+5+3+2=13 vs 3*2=6, rather 3+5+5/2=11 vs 6 OR 2+3+8/2=9 vs 6. See 8.4 section in the rules.
I think you are wrong. MAF are that ones from 46 division plus 1 attachment unit tank (any one silhouetted Tank Unit or any one battalion of any type may temporarily attach to a MAF with full strenght). There are no other units attacking.
I would like to see you do ASL "Red Barricades" with David Garvin (also does RUclips ASL), full campaign, every turn. Switch the camera control between both each turn but audio always both. And, followed up with "Kampfgruppe Peiper", both campaigns. The Definitive Statement on ASL. Then... whatever you want. Two Epic battles told with the most intricate and exacting rule and counter set ever created, demonstrated by masters at the craft.
Very well done - however you should note the few mistakes for the noobs trying to learn the system (MAF supporters are 1/2 and Follow-Up wave landings are 1/2 FP that turn) :-)
Your videos helped get me into wargaming. Specifically your Unconditional Surrender tutorials and US Civil War play though. I am actually playing USCW now after about a 5 year hiatus and can’t find your videos. Are they still available? Thanks
@@CounterAttack might have to blow some dust off those counters 😅 well, looking forward to it, you clear explanation of what is going on really helped me set in some of the rules. thanks!
also you forgot the 1/2 effectivness for the 6-6-3 unit attacking on the same turn it moved amphibious landing
Looking forward to turn 2!
Hope everything is okay. Eagerly waiting for Turn 2.

Thanks and thanks for the feedback. I'm trying some new things so glad it's working.
This is great! Can’t wait until turn 2.
Playing WaW85 and clipping Salerno43. Awesome timing. Your videos are calm and instructive. Thank you!
Very nice play through. Thank you. Looking forward to Turn Two.
Thanks for the reminder on getting next to units that are disrupted so that it’s a little tougher for them to recover.
the editing is superb! always happy to see another counter attack video pop up, looking forward to seeing how this goes!
Nice playthrough, good vid. Thanks!
Awesome! Was hoping to see this one. Looking forward to it. Appreciate your time and efforts in making these vids, ty.
Thank you so much for doing this, this is my first game in this series and this really helps to get started, hope you do some more of these!
Good one mate. I've got this one on the shelf waiting now, as well.
You are quickly becoming my favorite wargame channel, keep up the great work!
Great playthrough. Hope you do turn 2 soon.
Fantastic visual and presentation; you just sold me on this game.
Anxiously awaiting turn #2
i believe the free stacking units still count as a point when counting beachhead landings?
This is a very informative play-through, well done, thank you.
Great stuff!! Looking forward to turn 2!
Oh, here we go, the pro is getting after it

@@azzido851 Yeah, I agree, my misunderstanding of game rules.

This is probably the only video on RUclips that explains the rules accurately and without major errors.
BTW are you a scientist?
Thanks! I am a software engineer.

Hope you are ok. Havn't seen a new video in a while.
You said you need new equipment, maybe tripods but again, your picture is always so clear.
Great videos.
Any chance for next videos?

Hi. Are you asking about USCW? I have not made any videos for that one.
@@CounterAttack my mistake. It must have been someone else and I am just misremembering. Oh well, thanks anyway. Keep up the great work!
When is turn 2
Fantastic video. Any chance on seeing a turn 2? I assume after 6 months, that it isn't going to happen.
It's still set up on my table - I just need to carve out some time. I've been very busy with travel and a new job. "Soon" 😆

I’ve settled on ZOC Bond series to keep it simple for me.
Good idea: ZBS.
…if there Will be a turn 2? 😅
Calling Counter Attack. Are you still out there. ????
Is this a good game to start playing the "Name a Place & Year Series" from Mark S???
I think so - mostly because it is the smallest of the bunch.
I think you moved the 36th 4-4-3 on 2816 to the wrong hex when you were cleaning up the final battle in the south with the Allies.
33:12 19 instead of 17?
