I love that Sah knew her worth. Even if she wasnt in love with him,he was her husband and she was the dinasty and therefore she deserved all his respect. So yea, when she was threatening him, she knew what she was talking about.
Well, she denied any marital rights of her husband over her, so he's 97% guilty, and Sah takes up the remaining guilt. To state it in plain words, she refused to sleep with him and he vented that "need" elsewhere (although, I'm not sure if it's indicated that he had any physical intimacy with the other palace maid shown).

For the real fall of the ottoman, i think theres something to do with the blood lineage, corrupt government and the turkish people. As time progresses people are getting educated.
