Fun fact: the name "Nack The Weasel" was actually the name Shinichi Higashi originally wanted to use for the character in Japan. The reason for it being changed was that Nack sound to similar Knuckles, as it's pronounced "Nakkuruzu" over there.

sonic's racing games went from
mario kart to racing on foot to hoverboards to transforming cars to mario kart again it literally evolved then went backwards.
To give credit where credit is due, Sonic Labyrinth does feature one of Robotnik's most underrated plans: He invented a way to slow down the blue blur, giving Robotnik more time than ever to progress his plans. Of course he inevitably falls to his nemesis, but for what it's worth, averting the greatest physical ability of your enemy is a good strategy.
Kiro talks is like a lot of youtubers ive found in the last 5 years. There the little underated gems that you dig up and are super skeptical about but end up representing them as your favorite youtubers. You stay with them for the rest of time because they just never get old. Kiro i really enjoy your content and im super happy on how much your growing. I hope you make it far and just know ill always be there for you

@@kirotalksyt those years can't be as bad as what Sonic has become since 2003, character wise. I bet by the time SEGA gave up on the Console Wars, they removed every beneficial thing that Sonic was known for within the 10 year lifespan 1991 and 2001. Character Growth, Balanced Gameplay, Great World Building... all gone, and made worse when Sonic X came in.

Finally someone talks about the mid-90s era of Sonic. I really dig the games released during that time. I grew up rocking with games like Labyrinth and 3D Blast.

Triple Trouble is one of my favorite 2D Sonic games actually, so I'd say that's where the golden age of Classic Sonic games ended for me.

Sonic went in cars for most of the racing games because 1: it's "cool", and 2: it's fair to the other characters. Like for example Big the cat. I know Big wasn't around for sonic drift, but in modern racing games that's the reason.

everybody always complains "sONiC drIvInG A KAR iS WeRD" but never thinks about it for two seconds and realizes it would be weirder for any of sonics friends to beat him in a foot race
I love Knuckles choatix! Sonic games were built with momentum in mind and to see it fully developed with the rubber band is just incredible.
In regards to Sonic in a car. To me it makes a lot of sense for Sonic to race in a car. Sonic enjoys going fast and racing and probably would have respect for a competitive racing league. I'm sure he wants to test his motorsport discipline against his friends.

I enjoyed Sonic 3D Blast on the Sega Saturn and I'm not ashamed of myself.
I feel like the 32X botched the Saturn in America and Europe. It gave Sony the opportunity to steal the Genesis thunder from the years old grip and suddenly it was about 3D.
Sonic Labyrinth is the weirdest Sonic game I have ever played, because everything about it just felt so wrong. There's even a typo in the "Options" section when toggling the floor type from "Straight" to "Slant." The only problem is that it says "Stright" instead of "Straight."
I’m excited for part 2 since the goat sonic R will be talked about. That soundtrack saves the game for me

Glad the series picked back up again with the adventure titles. Sa1 specifically felt like an evolutions of 3k both gameplay wise and narrative wise imo

When my family first got a PC one of the first games I had for it (I have no recollection of how or why) was Sonic 3D Blast in early 98. For me, a kid that owned an n64 and had played OG Sonic on my cousin’s mega drive, the game felt like the future of Sonic and 3D gaming as a whole. I loved the game and played it constantly. I have huge nostalgia for the game. Looking back I’m unsure why an isometric Sonic game seemed so great when I had SM64 to play on my Nintendo, it just did. I loved the game and had no idea it’s reception was quite poor.
Nintendo64 was a flawed console with unreliable controllers, glitchy games and limited rom data processing.
The music on knuckles chaotix is hands down some of the best in the franchise
You know, Sonic usually struggles within the latter half of each decade. Kinda sad to know that whatever momentum Sonic Frontiers (Ha, ha, get it?) and any other Sonic game brings to the plate before 2025, a mid-2020s game will kill all of it.
Tbh, Sonic kind of struggled throughout the 2010s as a whole with the exception of 2010 and 2011, being the release years of Colors and Generations respectively. Once Lost World came in 2013 it all immediately went downhill and only became worse with Boom in 2014. When Mania came in 2017, people were starting to become hopeful, and then that was lost with Forces. The opposite is kind of true for the late 2000s. I say this because although some consider the late 2000s as the "dark age" of Sonic with the release of 06, Shadow the Hedgehog, and Storybook Series, there are some pretty underrated gems during that era, like the Rush duology, Riders, and Unleashed. The general opinion of the Rivals duology, however, is up to debate.
Yeah. Besides Colors, Generations and Mania, unlike the 2000s, you won't find any underrated gems in the 2010s. Makes you wonder why that decade needed to happen in the first place. Becasue of course, it did.

as a European the saturn was a bit different then in the states it did well most people had one until the support stopped them we all got PlayStations instead if they kept up with the euro support things could have been different over here

Triple Trouble is my favorite 2D sonic game. I won't argue that it is objectively the most well made of the classic era, but it is the one I have the fondest memories of, I think. (This was probably because I never owned Sonic 3, but also because I was able to bring my Game Gear with me when we went camping.) I loved Tails' ability to fly and explore, and always played as him, instead of Sonic. Also tthe water stages were made way less of a headache for Tails, due to his submarine. I am glad people still remember that game.

Imo, this was the true dark age. I never grew up during this era (thank god) but being a Sonic fan during this era seems so demoralizing. At least during the 2000’s “dark age” the game were unique and somewhat cool, like Sonic Riders and Sonic Rush. Here, nothing if value or fun existed, it’s like Sonic Purgatory.

The gamegear sonics are actually pretty good. I liked triple trouble. I remember playing all of em on sonic gems collection.
Sonic could have been more popular in Japan if he wasn’t limited by SEGA hardware. Nintendo and Sony did better than SEGA in Japan.

The reason Sonic drives a car in his racing games is so it's fair for everyone else. I mean you saw what happened in Sonic R, Amy and Eggman aren't even viable options if you want to even think about getting close to winning a race.

I keep seeing people make the same mistake. Nack was always the original name since Triple trouble was an American developed Sonic game, as you can tell by the Japanese version retaining the zone name "Robotnik Winter". The name Fang was chosen in Japan due to how similar Nack and Knuckles sounded.
