There was a time when the chocolate souffle was a main dining dessert. My daughter loved it so much on our first cruise that we ended up making them at home a couple of times. Looks like your cruise was a lovely, relaxing time. :)
Oh my if I started doing that at home we would quickly have an over consumption problem. But what a yummy problem to have!

Yay Castaway! I had the most magical time there on my Wish cruise! I did all the things and soaked up all the memories. I also got surprised by my friends with a Palo brunch on our sea day and it was amaing!

I’m taking my first ever cruise in November! Excited and nervous all at the same time! Thank you for the tidbits of tips. Rainforest spa looks and sounds amazing. I think we’ll be booking that!
You can book ahead of time on the app or just go the first day of your cruise but they do sell out so go early! It's a lovely experience.

I'm so lazy, I don't hand wash anything. I just put each item (tights, cashmere, whatever) in its own fine mesh laundry bag and then throw it in the washing machine on gentle. Might not be the best way to maintain clothes, but it's not horrible.
That's my breakfast order for the balcony too!

Great to see that Carley was your cruise director. We met her several times on the Magic on the WBTA cruises we did. She was hilarious with Nathalie who was the cruise director and Carley the assistant. We loved their morning shows. You could go there live, or watch it on tv. But the D-Lounge was always packed.
And I get you with the bbq at castaway cay. It’s oké, there are some things that I like, but you’re right to go back to the ship.
And I still remember our first cruise and first castaway cay, we had such a big rain fall, but didn’t mind. We had so much fun with a group of friends and got so wet and stamped and played in the water that flooding across the paths like we were kids again.
And Palo, wish I got to go there now.
Ah a full nights sleep….how I miss you! The joys of aging…I rarely sleep through the night anymore. I feel like taking a cruise just so I can be rocked to sleep! Lol.

Me too. I rather eat the lunch on the ship than at the beach. My last trip in October 2023 I didn’t even get off at castaway. I enjoyed the empty ship.
Me, who did concierge and the length of cruise rainforest pass 😁. My husband said the same thing for himself though, that he only needed a day pass & to keep the length of stay pass for me because I LOVE those heated loungers.
I mean . . .the heated loungers do kind of change your life.

I really enjoy your vlog and learn so much about traveling and packing! I had noticed when you were talking about getting a facial that you have a similar small red spot on your forehead that I had on my face. I didn't have it looked at for almost a year until my primary doctor referred me to a dermatologist. (It was a small heart shape). It turned out to be basal cell carcinoma and luckily they caught it in time with minimum surgery. I apologize if I'm being to personal! Can't wait to watch the next few vlogs!
You're not at all! I see my derm every 6 months and it's a harmless thing (it has a name but I don't remember what it's called) but I appreciate it and I'm so sorry you went through that. I've had several pre-cancerous things removed so it's why I have to go so often and am so grateful for an excellent physician!

Is there a place to snorkel in the adult only area on Castaway Cay? Love watching you and Adam having Cruise adventures.
Technically you can but the water is sometimes very shallow over there like it was this time. Very shallow but VERY clear! We were able to see fish and starfish and it was very cool but not really deep enough to snorkle unless you went way out? Just depends on the tides, really. Sorry, I'm not being very helpful - the answer is you CAN snorkel if you want but at Serenity Bay but the water isn't always the best for it.

The Disney ships almost always go out full or close to full, so honestly, the time of year doesn't seem to matter really.

Hey Jen! 👋 when you ate breakfast at 1923, was that included in the cruise price or was that extra? I know some restaurants are an up charge, just wasn’t sure about the restaurants you rotate for dinner at when you eat at other meal times there (I hope my question makes sense!)
Great question! 1923 is one of the included restaurants so no extra charge

Saw the first clip where you said, “what happens on Castaway Cay, stays on Castaway Cay” and it immediately jumps to Nassau footage, so I thought you seriously left out all the Castaway Cay part. 😂😂😂. Missed the “coming up” intro part 🤦🏼♀️.

Question for you Jen: In 2014 and 2015 my kids and I did two Adventures by Disney trips and loved them. We did Italy Amalfi Coast and Switzerland and Italy Lake District. I knew nothing about them but I tragically lost my husband in 2009 when our kids were still very young and I knew I needed to create new memories with them. I was very uncertain and nervous about all of it and we'd never traveled without him. It was such a great experience and I'm wondering if ABD is part of DVC? We did not feel awkward and ABD took care of every detail. Now that my kids are grown, I've even considered doing an ABD trip solo. I've yet to solo travel ever but do you recommend going this route? Thanks Jen! Sorry so long but I have loads to ask you!!
First off I'm so sorry for your loss. That had to have been and i'm sure continues to be challenging and I love that you are moving forward with so much resilience and adventure!! I have yet to do ABD but want to so badly - I think a solo trip with them would be incredible although pricey. And YES you can absolutely use DVC points for it but it's, again, a lot of points. I hear nothing but great things!
Aww thank you for the kind reply and info. I have been completely binging on your videos the last few days and I've learned so much while feeling like you could be my new best friend;). The trips my kids and I have been able to take have been worth every penny and my son is currently on a Fulbright in northern Europe. What a fantastic time my daughter and I've had visiting him! I completely agree that if it's possible, travel is such an education. I feel enormously grateful to be able to experience these places with them and I know you share in this. I’m wondering how to tip on the ship?
For your stateroom host and servers, you can either pre-pay your gratuities or Disney will automatically charge a set amount at the end of your cruise. For room service, I typically tip in cash. It's also welcome to add an additional tip at the end of your cruise at your discretion if you felt service went above and beyond. So far I haven't had a cruise that didn't meet that criteria, so I typically add extra cash in the envelopes provided in our stateroom at the end of the cruise. hope that helps!
How did you and Adam meet, if you don’t mind me asking?
He had watched some of my DVC videos and we started chatting over DM and did our first official face to face meeting at WDW a few years ago! We had both been fans of each other's work:). So I guess you could say . . through work?
